A six-year-old girl was taken to a Scottsville-area hospital on Oct. 2, 2026, with extensive bruising, according to local reports citing the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force. Authorities allege she was choked and subjected to torture. Her father and stepmother have been charged; neither has been reported convicted, and the investigation was described as ongoing.
What authorities say happened
The Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force said it began investigating on Oct. 2, 2026, after the child was taken to a hospital. WNKY identified the facility as The Medical Center at Scottsville. Reports described bruising across the girl’s body, including injuries to multiple areas of her face and body.
Authorities said their investigation led them to believe the child had been choked and subjected to torture. The task force also reported that one caregiver used the word “torture” when describing the child’s treatment to authorities. These are allegations reported during an active investigation, not established findings.
Investigators also raised concerns about the child’s living conditions, access to food, hygiene and school attendance. The reports do not provide further details about those concerns.
