Accenture, Synopsys and Vicor were among the biggest reported midday gainers on October 1, 2026, while Liquidia and Sigma Lithium fell sharply. The moves followed company results and forecasts, a court ruling, analyst commentary and other company-specific news, according to a CNBC roundup reproduced by Newcome.ca. The percentages and explanations below are the roundup’s reported claims, not an independently verified market-data feed.
Largest reported gainers and their catalysts
| Company | Reported move | What the roundup said | Type of catalyst |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accenture | Up 18% | Fiscal fourth-quarter revenue was reported at $18.7 billion, above company guidance of $17.8 billion–$18.4 billion and FactSet consensus of $18.3 billion. Earnings were $3.29 per share, above expectations. | Reported quarterly results |
| Synopsys | Up more than 8% | At an investor day, Synopsys outlined strategy and long-term targets and announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI. It forecast 2027 revenue growth of 15%, to $11.1 billion–$11.2 billion, compared with analyst consensus of $10.82 billion. | Company strategy, partnership and forecast |
| Vicor | Up almost 10% | Vicor raised its third-quarter revenue-growth outlook to more than 30%, from at least 20%, citing increased royalties under its previously announced first nonexclusive Vertical Power Delivery license. | Company guidance update |
| Constellation Energy | Up nearly 3% | The company announced a reported 20-year deal with Amazon supporting capacity expansion at a Maryland nuclear power plant. | Long-term energy deal |
| BJ’s Restaurants | Up about 5% | Mizuho upgraded the stock to outperform and raised its target price by $2 to $76, citing its checks and a higher same-store-sales estimate. | Analyst rating and estimate |
Accenture’s $18.7 billion revenue figure and $3.29 per-share earnings were reported as completed fiscal fourth-quarter results. Synopsys’s 2027 revenue range is a forecast, not realized revenue; Vicor’s more-than-30% figure is revised third-quarter growth guidance. The figures and catalysts in this table are reported by the October 1 roundup, rather than independently confirmed here (CNBC roundup reproduced by Newcome.ca).
Accenture: results above the cited comparisons
The roundup attributed Accenture’s 18% gain to fiscal fourth-quarter results. Revenue exceeded both the company’s stated guidance range and FactSet’s consensus estimate, while reported earnings per share also topped expectations. These are the comparisons reported for the quarter; the roundup does not supply the underlying earnings estimate.
Synopsys: strategy day and a forward revenue target
Synopsys’s gain followed both its investor-day presentation and its announced OpenAI partnership. The projected 2027 revenue range of $11.1 billion–$11.2 billion was described as 15% growth and above the cited analyst consensus of $10.82 billion. It remains a company forecast, not a report of future results already achieved.

Vicor raised its third-quarter revenue-growth outlook from at least 20% to more than 30%. The company cited increased royalties tied to its previously announced first nonexclusive Vertical Power Delivery license; the roundup linked this guidance change to the share gain.

How to read these midday moves
- Separate outcomes from expectations. Accenture’s revenue and earnings are reported quarterly results; Synopsys’s 2027 revenue range and Vicor’s third-quarter growth number are forecasts or guidance.
- Distinguish a ruling from commentary about it. The court outcome described for Liquidia and the BTIG interpretation are different kinds of claims.
- Keep the date and timeframe attached. These are intraday moves reported in an October 1, 2026 roundup, not a measure of longer-term performance.
- Do not treat a one-day move as a prediction. The roundup describes reported catalysts and price changes; it does not establish what the shares will do next.
The source for the reported company moves, estimates and explanations is the October 1, 2026 CNBC roundup reproduced by Newcome.ca. The underlying issuer releases, FactSet data, court ruling and intraday market data were not independently inspected for this account.
