England’s Under-19s beat the United States 2–1 in Marbella on 2 October 2026, with Arsenal’s Max Dowman sent off during the final 17 minutes. England’s official match report confirms the dismissal but does not say why he was sent off.
What happened in England’s match against the USA?
England won 2–1 at Marbella Football Centre in an Under-19 international friendly. Reigan Heskey scored in the first minute, the USA equalised with an eighth-minute penalty, and Luca Williams-Barnett put England ahead on the hour. England Football confirms that Dowman was sent off, but its report gives neither the offence nor the precise time of the card. The available reporting does not establish the reason, so claims about what he did or whether the decision was justified would be speculation. Nogomania’s report also notes that the reason had not been disclosed.
Was the England–USA match behind closed doors?
Nogomania reported that the match was played behind closed doors. England Football’s report confirms Marbella Football Centre as the venue but does not state whether spectators were admitted, so the closed-doors detail is attributable to the secondary report rather than the official account.
