Zaccharie Risacher believes his off-ball game can complement Cooper Flagg in Dallas: he can find space, get to the right spot and finish plays while teammates initiate the offense. That is the forward’s training-camp view of the fit, not proof of established chemistry or a confirmed role.
What Risacher says about playing with Flagg
In a report listed by NBA.com on October 2, 2026, Risacher described the Mavericks as a team that intends to play fast and physical. He said he is comfortable contributing without the ball:
“I feel like we’re going to be a good fit, especially in this team. We’re going to play fast. We want to go,” said Risacher. “We’re going to play physical, and I feel like that’s going to be a good fit. I like to play off-ball too, so I feel like just me being able to get to the right spot, get space, and finish those actions, that’s going to be a big thing.”
The report was published as a RotoWire item by CBS Sports on October 1 and attributed to Grant Afseth of the Dallas Sports Journal. NBA.com’s October 2 item presents Risacher’s remarks as his assessment of the fit, rather than evidence from games together.

How his off-ball game could complement Dallas
Find space and finish plays
Risacher’s clearest description of his potential contribution is what he can do after a teammate has the ball: move to a useful spot, create room and finish the resulting action. If Flagg or another Maverick initiates a possession, that approach could give the offense another option without requiring Risacher to control the ball. It is a plausible fit mechanism, not a guarantee that the team will use him that way.
Run in transition
Past NBA coverage of Risacher in Atlanta also described transition scoring and off-ball movement as strengths. In a three-game Atlanta winning streak covered during the 2024-25 season, he scored 15 of his 42 points in transition, according to NBA.com’s Week 7 coverage. That small, historical snapshot is consistent with the pace Risacher says Dallas wants; it does not establish how productive he will be in the Mavericks’ offense.

Physicality is an aspiration, not a measured result
Risacher expects the team’s fast, physical style to suit him, but his comments do not specify a defensive assignment or demonstrate how he will handle the physical demands in Dallas. The claim is best read as his confidence about the intended style, not a verified team or player outcome.
Risacher’s Dallas roster listing
As of October 3, 2026, the NBA.com Mavericks roster lists Risacher as a 6-foot-8, 200-pound forward wearing No. 10. The roster records his acquisition from Atlanta on July 19, 2026. Those details establish his current team listing, but not where he will fall in the rotation.

What is still unknown about his role
The available reporting does not establish whether Risacher will start, how many minutes he will play, or what his regular-season production will be. Nor does it provide game evidence of chemistry with Flagg. Those questions require observable preseason or regular-season lineups and results; for now, the fit case rests on Risacher’s stated comfort away from the ball and his view of Dallas’s intended pace and style.
