At the October 1, 2026 AI & Technology Virtual Investor Conference, 01 Quantum presented a commercial case built around demand for quantum-safe cybersecurity. The company described products in encrypted AI, remote access, digital-asset protection and email security, and outlined market and revenue opportunities. Those are company claims and forecasts—not independently verified adoption or sales. The broader backdrop is firmer: NIST finalized three post-quantum cryptography standards in 2024, while saying that the arrival date of a quantum computer capable of breaking current cryptography is unknown.
What 01 Quantum told investors
According to the Investing.com conference transcript, CEO Andrew Cheung and CFO Jeff Kilborn described a strategy focused on end-user cybersecurity products. Cheung summed up the company’s pitch as: “fundamentally, we just make everything quantum safe.” That is the company’s own positioning, not an independent assessment of its products’ security.
The presentation covered four areas:
- Encrypted AI: The company cited a recently granted U.S. patent related to encrypted AI.
- Remote access: Management discussed a Hitachi-related product and a claimed double-digit royalty arrangement.
- Digital assets: The company described qVAULT as a product for protecting digital assets.
- Email security: Management discussed an Outlook email plug-in.
The transcript also reports company statements about commercial work or relationships involving Hitachi, CGI, Thales, PwC, Utimaco, QLF and Crypto4A. The transcript does not independently establish the scope of those relationships, customer deployments, security performance or resulting revenue. A named partner, patent or product mention should not be read as proof of broad adoption.
What the market forecasts mean—and do not mean
Management presented a forecast that the quantum-safe cybersecurity market would exceed CAD 2.8 billion by 2030, and that the encrypted-AI market would reach CAD 5.4 billion by 2032. The transcript also describes company scenarios for email adoption and digital assets. These figures are management-presented estimates, not independently validated market measurements in the transcript; it does not establish the methodology or show how much of any market 01 Quantum could capture.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For investors, the core question is therefore not just whether cybersecurity demand grows. It is whether the company can convert its product and partnership activity into deployments, recurring revenue and durable customer adoption. The conference presentation makes the case for that opportunity, but does not by itself demonstrate those outcomes.
The established post-quantum backdrop
There is a genuine standards milestone behind the commercial thesis. On August 13, 2024, NIST announced that the U.S. Secretary of Commerce had approved three post-quantum cryptography standards: FIPS 203 for key encapsulation, FIPS 204 for digital signatures, and FIPS 205 for stateless hash-based digital signatures. NIST says the schemes are designed to resist attacks from future quantum computers. The standards establish a direction for cryptographic migration; they do not validate any vendor’s implementation, product claims or sales prospects.

NIST’s post-quantum cryptography explainer says integrating new algorithms into information systems can take 10 to 20 years. That is a systems-integration timeframe, not a prediction of when a capable quantum computer will arrive, and not a forecast of 01 Quantum’s revenue. NIST states: “No one knows how long it will take to build a cryptographically relevant quantum computer.”
Why migration may matter before Q-Day
“Harvest now, decrypt later” describes a risk in which an adversary collects encrypted information today in the hope of decrypting it in the future. It makes the retention life and sensitivity of data relevant: information that must remain confidential for many years can merit attention even while the timing of a cryptographically relevant quantum computer remains unknown. The phrase describes a threat model, not evidence that a specific attack or date is imminent.

NIST’s warning about lengthy integration work also explains why organizations may begin assessing cryptographic dependencies before a quantum computer capable of breaking current protections exists. The practical urgency depends on an organization’s systems, data and migration requirements—not on treating a speculative Q-Day date as established fact.

The conference transcript supplies the company’s product categories and commercial statements; NIST supplies the standards and migration context. Taken together, they support a distinction between a plausible sector-wide need and a company-specific investment case: the first is reinforced by standards and long migration timelines, while the second still depends on demonstrated adoption, differentiation and revenue conversion.
