Promotions and availability can change, so check the purchase page before subscribing or renewing.
YouTube’s February 9, 2026 announcement lists genre plans as well as the main plan. The table gives the announced regular prices and introductory offers; the latter apply only to eligible new users for the stated period.

What are you paying for?
YouTube TV describes the service as live television from 100+ broadcast, cable and regional sports networks. Its overview includes major broadcast networks, sports, cable and premium networks, unlimited DVR and up to six accounts for one price. A plan supports up to three devices streaming at once. That combination may suit a household with multiple viewers who use the service regularly; it is less compelling if most included channels go unwatched.
Recordings and add-ons
YouTube says DVR recordings are kept for nine months. The optional 4K Plus add-on offers select 4K content, offline viewing of eligible recordings and unlimited streams at home for an additional monthly charge. Count it only if those specific benefits matter to your household.

Devices
YouTube TV works on many existing televisions and streaming devices, including select Amazon Fire TV and Roku devices, Apple TV, Vizio, Samsung and LG smart TVs, Hisense TVs, Xbox One and Chromecast. A new streaming device is not automatically required; check compatibility for your particular model.
Does the sports plan cover the games you want?
YouTube TV’s main and Sports plans carry local and national NFL broadcasts, including games shown in your area on CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN and NFL Network. The Sports plan includes sports channels from the main plan plus local channels, but that does not mean every sporting event is included. Coverage depends on the event and your market.

What NFL Sunday Ticket adds—and does not add
NFL Sunday Ticket provides out-of-market Sunday afternoon regular-season games shown on CBS and FOX. It does not include local games, national broadcasts such as Sunday Night Football or Monday Night Football, or postseason games. It is available with YouTube TV or as a standalone YouTube Primetime Channel. Check the price and coverage for the season you plan to watch before including it in your cost comparison.

Check these details before changing plans
Plan availability depends on how you pay
YouTube says the plans available to you can differ by billing provider. If your subscription is billed through a mobile or internet provider, or through Google Play, you may need to manage changes there. YouTube’s help page says plan switching is not available in the iOS or Android apps.
A downgrade can affect recordings and promotions
If you switch to a plan that lacks a channel, recordings associated with that channel can be removed. YouTube says they may return if you upgrade again within 21 days. Switching plans during a promotion also forfeits the promotional price, so compare the consequences with the monthly savings before changing.

Confirm the local lineup
Channel availability, especially local stations and regional sports networks, can vary by ZIP code and plan. Check the lineup for your address before relying on a channel being included.
A practical way to decide
- List must-haves. Write down the live channels and specific sports events your household expects to watch, then confirm they are available in your area on the plan you are considering.
- Calculate the recurring total. Use the price after any introductory offer ends. Add only the extras you need, such as NFL Sunday Ticket or 4K Plus.
- Match the plan to your household. Consider how many people watch at once and whether nine-month recordings and unlimited DVR are useful to you. YouTube TV allows up to six accounts but up to three simultaneous streams on a plan.
- Check whether locals are the main need. If you chiefly want local broadcast stations, see whether an antenna can receive them at your address; it will not provide a full cable lineup or a DVR equivalent.
- Compare alternatives on actual use. Check channel fit, local and regional sports availability, DVR capacity, streams, included on-demand services and the full recurring price after offers expire.
So, is YouTube TV still worth it?
For households that regularly use its broad live lineup, sports and DVR—and especially those sharing the service—the $82.99 main plan may justify its price. If you watch only a handful of channels, a genre plan, a differently configured service or an antenna for local broadcasts may cost less. The deciding figure is the recurring total for the channels and events your household will actually watch, not the temporary introductory rate.
