Ukraine has begun final tests of the Aura 3K mini, a compact electronic-warfare system intended to protect heavy bomber drones from FPV attacks. The system’s reported specifications and ability to preserve a drone’s Starlink connection come from Dignitas Fund, which is working with manufacturer Aura-Ukraine; they are not independently verified test results. As of 3 October 2026, the report says field testing is still ahead, mass production depends on successful final tests, and it does not establish that the system has been tested on ground robots.
What is the Aura 3K mini?
Aura-Ukraine’s Aura 3K mini is an electronic-warfare (EW) system designed to help heavy bomber drones resist attacks from Russian first-person-view (FPV) drones. Ukrainska Pravda reported on 3 October 2026 that the manufacturer had begun final tests, citing Dignitas Fund, which is working on the system. The report describes a 2.4-kilogram unit with two broadband jammers operating across 2.1–2.8 GHz and coverage intended to extend 360 degrees. Those figures and capabilities are attributed specifications, not independent confirmation of performance. Ukrainska Pravda’s report describes the system as a work in progress.
How is it supposed to protect a bomber drone?
The stated purpose is to jam the control or data links used by approaching FPV drones while leaving the protected bomber’s own Starlink connection working. That distinction matters: disrupting the attacker is of little help if the protective system also cuts off the bomber’s communications. Dignitas Fund says the Aura 3K mini is designed to avoid that trade-off, but the available report does not provide independent test results showing how reliably it does so in field conditions.
Threat-triggered operation is planned
Dignitas Fund says the system is intended to activate automatically when it detects a threat rather than transmit continuously. The aim is to limit emissions that could reveal the bomber’s position. The report presents automatic activation as a planned feature, not a confirmed operational capability.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Field testing is the next reported step
The company said testing of the system’s radiation pattern at the front was expected to start “in the coming days,” according to the press service quoted by Ukrainska Pravda. This is a planned test step; the report does not say that it has been completed or describe its results.
Has the Aura 3K mini passed testing or entered production?
No. The 3 October report says final tests have begun and that mass production depends on their success. It does not report a successful final result, operational effectiveness, procurement, or production. An earlier 11 August report by Euromaidan Press, citing RBC-Ukraine and Dignitas head Liuba Shypovych, said samples had been sent to military units and relayed an expectation that the solution would be ready in about two months. That was an attributed forecast, not confirmation of readiness; the newer account still describes ongoing tests.

Does the system protect ground robots too?
The report’s headline mentions ground robots, but its detailed account focuses on heavy bomber drones. It says adaptation for Vampire-type bomber drones is planned; it does not establish that Aura 3K mini has been tested or validated on uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs). The system’s current reported use and the proposed adaptations should not be treated as proof of ground-robot protection.

Ukraine has been testing bomber-drone capability and protection in separate programs. Those activities provide context for the need to withstand EW and interceptor threats, but they are not evidence that Aura 3K mini achieved the same results.

March trials tested bomber drones under EW interference
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence said on 30 March 2026 that 18 teams took part in new-generation bomber-drone trials at a Brave1 testing ground. The ministry reported that each tested drone flew up to 20 kilometres under EW interference, struck a target, and returned safely. These results concern the drones in that trial, not Aura 3K mini. The ministry described heavy bombers as platforms able to carry tens of kilograms for attacks on heavy armour and fortifications, as well as logistics missions. The ministry’s account quotes Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov calling bombers “a Ukrainian innovation that has become indispensable on the battlefield.”
August trials examined layered protection against interceptors
In a separate program, the Ukrainian Armed Forces tested protection systems for reusable bomber-type strike UAVs across six Ukrainian platforms in early August 2026, according to Ukrinform’s 14 August report. Colonel Vladyslav Voloshyn described a layered approach that included reducing visibility, detecting threats, warning crews, electronic countermeasures, and physical protection. The report says onboard electronic-intelligence and EW systems were tested to detect interceptor UAVs, identify their control and data-transmission channels, and counter them. These were broader Armed Forces trials, not Aura-Ukraine’s Aura 3K mini program.
