In the WoW: Forever beta, Dalaran is a usable city area with trainers, practical services, battleground queues and PvP vendors, plus a reported cloth-donation quest. It is separate from the City of Dalaran dungeon. Beta guides report that Alliance characters can use the city safely, while Horde characters are not welcome inside; Horde players can reach the dungeon from outside the city with a sewer key. The details below reflect beta reporting available through October 3, 2026, and may change before launch.
What can you do in Dalaran City?
Dalaran is in the Alterac Mountains, northwest of Southshore. Beta guides describe it as a place to travel through, train skills, use city conveniences, queue for battlegrounds, shop for PvP gear, and pursue a reported cloth-donation quest. Those services are not necessarily accessible to every faction.
Travel into and through the city
Beta guides describe three routes: stairs north of Hillsbrad Fields, a flying ship between Dalaran and Valanaar on Zephras Isle, and a portal link with Stormwind. The guides do not report a flight path landing in Dalaran. See the Wowhead guide and the September 29 beta report for the route descriptions.
Train class skills, professions and First Aid
The reported class trainers are Alfina Nightgaze for Druids and Jessa Weaver for Mages. The city guide reports trainers for seven professions or skills: First Aid, Enchanting, Cooking, Herbalism, Blacksmithing, Tailoring and Alchemy.

Queue for battlegrounds and buy PvP gear
In The Underbelly, four reported battlemasters offer queues for Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, Alterac Valley and Darkspear Islands. The guides also report three PvP gear vendors. See the Wowhead guide for its list of city NPCs and services.
Turn in cloth for the reported city quest
A September 29 guide describes one available city quest at level 20: A Donation of Wool. Its reported stages require 60 Wool Cloth, then 60 Silk Cloth, 60 Mageweave Cloth and 60 Runecloth. These are quest turn-in amounts reported for the beta, not a general entry requirement for Dalaran.

Who can enter Dalaran?
The beta reports describe the city as safe for Alliance characters and say Horde players are not welcome inside. They distinguish city access from access to the dungeon: Alliance characters enter the instance through a sewer pipe and portal in Cantrips & Crows, while Horde characters use an entrance outside the city and need a Dalaran Sewer Key. The reports do not establish where Horde players obtain that key.
Is the City of Dalaran dungeon part of the city?
No. The City of Dalaran dungeon is a separate instance, even though its entrance is associated with the city for Alliance players. A beta-client-data reference updated October 3 lists five level-33 quests associated with the dungeon. Their objectives include collecting a plant, a book or cores, and defeating named enemies. See the WoW Forever Talents beta-cache reference for that instance quest data.

Why do beta sources give different quest counts?
The September 29 city guide describes the level-20 cloth-donation chain in the city. The October 3 beta-cache reference lists five level-33 quests for the separate dungeon. They cover different levels and locations, so they should not be combined into one definitive count of Dalaran city quests. Both accounts describe beta content, which can change between builds.
