Wordfence’s weekly report says it added 319 vulnerabilities affecting 222 WordPress plugins to its Intelligence Vulnerability Database for September 21–27, 2026. That total is a reason to check your installed plugins—not evidence that your site is vulnerable or has been compromised. The report was published October 2, 2026, and says 156 vulnerability researchers contributed during the week.
What the weekly report covers
The report covers vulnerabilities disclosed during September 21–27, 2026. Its aggregate summary counts plugin vulnerabilities; it does not report a theme total. Individual entries give details such as vulnerability names, CVE identifiers where assigned, CVSS scores where stated, affected software versions, patch status, publication dates, and researcher attribution.
The specific examples below come from a syndicated reproduction of Wordfence’s report. That copy does not establish every affected version, and the entries should not be treated as a complete inventory. Confirm the matching vulnerability record and current patch status before making a remediation decision.
Which findings are highlighted?
| Plugin or product | Reported issue | What the available report copy establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Box AIO and standalone Meta Box extensions | CVE-2026-13355: unauthenticated privilege escalation to administrator | CVSS 9.8, Critical; marked patched in the reproduced report. The affected and fixed version numbers are not stated in that copy. |
| MasterStudy LMS | Authenticated local file inclusion, requiring Contributor-level access or higher; the report also lists additional authorization-related findings | The exact affected and fixed versions are not stated in the reproduced copy. |
| Modula Image Gallery | Missing authorization that can expose private gallery images | The exact affected and fixed versions are not stated in the reproduced copy. |
| Bookly | Missing authorization and an unauthenticated authorization bypass involving verification-code parameter type juggling | The exact affected and fixed versions are not stated in the reproduced copy. |
The report copy also contains findings in plugins associated with memberships and payments, event scheduling, backups, SVG uploads, image handling, and WooCommerce. Those categories do not establish that a particular plugin or site is affected: exposure depends on the exact installed product and version.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How to check whether your WordPress site is affected
- Make an inventory. In the WordPress dashboard, open Plugins > Installed Plugins. Record each plugin’s exact name and version. If you manage multiple sites, repeat this for every site and any staging installations that are accessible.
- Match exact entries. Compare your inventory against the full Wordfence report and the individual vulnerability records. Check the product name, affected version range, required attacker permissions, and whether the entry applies to a standalone extension or a bundled product. A similar name or plugin category is not a match.
- Check patch status and the maintainer’s instructions. If your installed version falls within an affected range, look for the maintainer’s fixed release and update guidance. The reproduced summary does not provide enough version detail to choose a safe target version for the examples above.
- Update or disable as appropriate. Install a confirmed fix through the plugin’s normal update process, following any maintainer-specific instructions. If there is no fix and the plugin is not essential, disabling it reduces exposure; do not assume a firewall replaces a software update.
- Verify the result. Recheck the installed version after updating and review the individual record for any revised patch information. If there are signs of unauthorized access, treat that as a separate incident-response issue rather than assuming the weekly report proves a compromise.
How to prioritize findings
Prioritize using the conditions in each individual record, not the roundup total alone. A high severity score can help signal impact, but it does not prove active exploitation or tell you whether your installation is exposed.
- Version match: Is the precise installed version within the affected range, and is there a confirmed fixed release?
- Attacker access: Does exploitation require an authenticated account, a particular role, or no login? For example, the reproduced MasterStudy entry specifies Contributor-level access or higher, while the Meta Box entry is described as unauthenticated.
- Impact and exposure: Does the finding permit privilege escalation, access to private data, or another consequential action, and is the affected feature in use?
- Mitigation status: Is a maintainer fix available, and does your current security configuration provide any additional protection while you update?
What Wordfence protection and intelligence options are described?
The reproduced report says Wordfence Intelligence’s interface, vulnerability API, webhook integration, and Wordfence CLI Vulnerability Scanner are free for personal and commercial use. It also says Wordfence Premium, Care, and Response customers received real-time enhanced firewall protection for covered vulnerabilities. Firewall coverage is not a substitute for checking your exact plugin versions and applying maintainer fixes.
