GIGABYTE’s AI TOP 100 B850 is a complete deskside desktop system for developing and running AI workloads locally—not merely a motherboard announcement. The system is offered in two GPU configurations: a GeForce RTX 5090 model aimed at CUDA-based local AI, and a dual Radeon AI PRO R9700 model with 64 GB of combined VRAM for memory-intensive work. GIGABYTE announced it on September 30, 2026, but has not stated a price or confirmed retail availability in the official material cited here.
What is the GIGABYTE AI TOP 100 B850?
It is a GIGABYTE deskside desktop positioned for local AI development and deployment. The launch announcement lists two system model codes: AT1A9N9-5100 and AT1A9A7-5101. Both configurations are described with an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processor, 16 cores and 32 threads, 128 GB of DDR5 memory, and a 2 TB PCIe Gen4 SSD. The major difference is the GPU setup.
GIGABYTE’s product page lists Windows 11 Pro and Linux support. It also describes expansion support for up to 256 GB of DDR5 memory and up to three PCIe 5.0/4.0 M.2 NVMe SSDs. Those are listed expansion limits, not the standard memory and storage configuration. Product specifications and appearance may vary by country, according to GIGABYTE.
Which GPU configuration should you choose?
| Configuration | GIGABYTE’s stated focus | Published capability or result | What the figure does—and does not—tell you |
|---|---|---|---|
| GeForce RTX 5090 | CUDA-accelerated local LLMs, generative AI, and agentic workflows | Up to 64.9 tokens per second on Qwen3 32B FP4, according to the product page | This is a GIGABYTE internal test for that model and precision. It is not a general speed estimate for other models or workloads. |
| Dual Radeon AI PRO R9700 | Larger models and memory-intensive AI workloads | 64 GB combined VRAM; GIGABYTE claims inference with models up to 235 billion parameters and fine-tuning up to 110 billion parameters | The product page identifies Qwen3-235B-A22B FP4 for the inference result. The broad parameter-size claims should not be read as proof that every model of those sizes will fit or perform similarly. |
The two published performance claims are not a head-to-head comparison: they involve different configurations, tasks, models, and—in the specified tests—precision. Choose based on the software stack and workload you need, whether you prioritize a particular CUDA-based workflow or greater GPU memory capacity, and performance on the exact model you intend to use.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How big a model can it run?
GIGABYTE says the dual Radeon configuration supports inference with models up to 235 billion parameters and fine-tuning up to 110 billion parameters. The product page specifies Qwen3-235B-A22B FP4 for the inference result. These are manufacturer claims, not independent validation, and the cited inference test does not establish performance for every model at that size. The RTX 5090 configuration’s stated result is narrower: up to 64.9 tokens per second on Qwen3 32B FP4 in GIGABYTE’s internal testing.
Parameter count alone is not enough to predict whether a model will run well. Precision, software, configuration, settings, and workload also matter. GIGABYTE says its performance figures come from internal testing and that actual results may vary with those factors; no independent benchmark is cited here.

What hardware and workflow features does GIGABYTE list?
The product page specifies a 240 mm AIO liquid CPU cooler, two 140 mm front intake fans, a 140 mm rear exhaust fan, and a 1600 W 80 PLUS Platinum power supply. The announcement also lists dual PCIe 5.0 slots, dual 10GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and a USB 20Gbps Type-C port.
GIGABYTE says its AI TOP Utility provides real-time monitoring, memory offloading, dataset creation, model setup, and training-workflow support for open-source language and multimodal models. Those are manufacturer-described features; they do not establish how easy or effective the utility will be for a particular project.

Does running AI locally keep data private?
Local execution can give you more control over where data is processed, but the desktop does not guarantee that every input stays on the machine. GIGABYTE’s product page cautions: “For AI workloads executed entirely locally. Data may be transmitted externally when network access, APIs, or third-party services are enabled. Some agentic AI frameworks, models, tools, or services may require third-party software, subscriptions, API keys, or internet connectivity. Compatibility and requirements vary by software.”
For sensitive work, check the network behavior and data-handling terms of the models, frameworks, tools, APIs, and services you choose—not just the computer’s ability to run workloads locally.
