Majora’s Mask can run on a PS5 through a community-made native port of 2 Ship 2 Harkinian 5.0.1, which lists 3840 × 2160 output and 60 FPS interpolation enabled by default. Those figures describe the project’s advertised output and interpolation—not independently verified, locked 60 FPS gameplay throughout the game. This is a homebrew project, not an official Nintendo or PlayStation release.
What the PS5 port actually offers
The project is a PS5 port of 2 Ship 2 Harkinian 5.0.1, a PC project for playing Majora’s Mask. Its maintainer, Shivam Mishra, says the port uses a PS5 OpenGL runtime and is a companion to his Ocarina of Time PS5 project. The project repository lists its features and requirements in the project documentation.
- 3840 × 2160 output: this is the project’s listed output resolution. The documentation does not provide independent measurements of the game’s internal rendering resolution.
- 60 FPS interpolation: listed as enabled by default. Interpolation is not proof that the game simulation runs at a steady, independently measured 60 frames per second across the full game.
- 120 Hz display request: the port requests 120 Hz where supported and falls back to 60 Hz. A 120 Hz display mode is not the same as 120 FPS gameplay; the project says 120 Hz output has not been verified.
- Other listed features: DualSense controls and menu navigation, widescreen HUD alignment, an audio playback fix, pause-menu saving subject to restrictions, and optional alternate or HD assets including Majora’s Mask Reloaded.
The maintainer’s documentation also says full-game frame-rate performance remains unverified. A report published by Retro Dodo on October 1, 2026 describes the port as the game’s first native PS5 appearance, but the repository is the better source for the technical qualifications.
What “native PS5” means—and what it doesn’t
Here, “native” means the community port runs on PS5 using the project’s PS5 runtime. It does not mean Nintendo released Majora’s Mask for PlayStation, or that the original Nintendo 64 game has been officially ported by Sony. The project explicitly disclaims Nintendo affiliation.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The headline’s 4K and 60 FPS shorthand therefore needs a qualification: 4K describes the listed output mode, while 60 FPS describes default interpolation. Neither label, on its own, establishes a verified, locked 60 FPS game simulation. The available documentation does not establish a full-game performance result.
What you need to run it
This is not a standard PS5 game installation. The project requires a homebrew-capable PS5 with kstuff, ShadowMountPlus, and an active FTP server. You also need a PC for the extraction step and your own supported Majora’s Mask ROM. The project does not include the ROM or ROM-derived game archives.

- Use the official 2 Ship 2 Harkinian 5.0.1 PC build on a PC to extract the game data from your supported ROM.
- Transfer the extracted files to the PS5 using the project’s Windows or Linux upload helper, or another FTP client. The console must have an active FTP server.
- Install and run the port on the console using the project’s homebrew setup requirements.
Follow the repository’s current instructions for the exact files and installation process; the project’s documentation is the source for the supported setup. The repository reports that the packaged executable booted on PS5 firmware 9.00; that is a project-reported validation point, not a guarantee for other firmware versions.
Storage, saving, and what has been checked
The project reports a base title footprint of about 200 MB, with about 3 GB more required for the optional Majora’s Mask Reloaded HD pack. The title installs on the console’s M.2 drive. An additional drive is not stated to be necessary; whether you need more storage depends on the free space already available on your PS5’s M.2 drive.

Pause-menu saving is available, but the feature is disabled in certain unsafe situations, including some cutscenes and early areas before Clock Town. It should not be treated as a way to save at any point in the game.
The maintainer reports checking startup, HD archive loading, and pause-save configuration. The project says the pause-save action was confirmed by the user. It does not report a full playthrough or verification of every save location, and says music quality and individual sound effects were not exhaustively checked. These are project-reported checks, not independent test results.

How it compares with the PC port and original cartridge
The alternatives are different ways to play, not equivalent editions of a PS5 release. The contemporary RetroGems report dated October 1, 2026 surfaced the same choices in its reader poll: whether to try the PS5 version, prefer the PC port, or use the original Nintendo 64 cartridge. That poll prompt is not evidence of broader public opinion or a performance comparison.
