What the reported offer includes—and what it does not establish
What Hi-Fi?’s 1 October 2026 deal article reported a £599 price at Peter Tyson against a previous £800 price. Its prose describes the discount as £200, while its displayed comparison says £201; “about £200” is the clearest way to describe the reported saving. The article also named Amazon, KEF and Richer Sounds as places the offer was available, and said Peter Tyson included a free 3-metre Fell Audio subwoofer cable. If a cable is part of the current bundle, check that its length and connectors suit your setup. Do not assume the reported cable is still included, or that every retailer’s offer has the same terms.
Which KEF product won the award?
What Hi-Fi? named the KEF Q Concerto Meta 5.1 speaker system a 2025 Awards winner. The award is for that complete surround system, not for an independently reviewed Kube 12 MIE. What Hi-Fi?’s deal article says the subwoofer was tested as part of the 5.1 package rather than reviewed on its own.

Will it fit your room and connect to your system?
Allow for a cabinet roughly 41 × 39 × 41 cm and a weight of 18.6 kg, plus room to position it and route a cable. Its sealed design and three room-position EQ options give placement choices, but do not remove the need to find a suitable spot in the room.

Before ordering, check how your system connects to a subwoofer. The Kube provides RCA phono and speaker-level inputs; make sure your receiver, amplifier or speaker setup has a compatible output or connection. KEF lists the KW1 wireless kit as an optional route to wireless connectivity via the expansion port, not as included equipment.

What Hi-Fi?’s listening impressions apply to the Kube as part of the complete Q Concerto Meta 5.1 system. In its review, the publication described the subwoofer’s low-frequency impact as controlled and powerful. It wrote: “The explosion towards the start of this sequence is delivered with a hefty dose of low-end punch, and the subwoofer delivers its gut-punch of low end while remaining in total control.” That is subjective review language about a scene in the full system, not a standalone test or lab measurement.

In a comparison with the Bowers & Wilkins 606/607 S3 package, What Hi-Fi? called that package’s subwoofer a touch more tuneful, while describing the Kube 12 MIE as delivering a more powerful, dynamic low-end kick. Treat that as one reviewer’s assessment in the context of those systems, not a universal ranking.

How to judge whether the deal is right for you
- Confirm the live offer: verify today’s UK price, stock and delivery terms with the retailer; the £599 report and discount are dated.
- Compare like with like: the offer is for a subwoofer, while the award-winning system is a complete 5.1 package. Do not compare the Kube’s price with the review-era total for that system as though they were equivalent purchases.
- Check fit and connection: measure the available floor space and confirm your system’s subwoofer connection before choosing wired or optional wireless setup.
- Check the bundle: confirm whether a cable is included and whether its length and connectors work for your installation.
