To skip time in The Blood of Dawnwalker, interact with a shrine and choose Wait. Waiting advances the game clock, so check your quest journal for deadlines before using it. The game does not automatically advance time just because you explore or stand still.
How to skip time at a shrine
- Find and interact with a shrine. Shrines serve as fast-travel points.
- Select Wait from the shrine options, then follow the on-screen prompt to confirm or continue.
- Check the clock and your objectives after waiting. The available guides do not specify how many in-game hours a Wait action advances or give platform-specific button prompts.
PowerPyx’s post-launch guide identifies Wait at a shrine as the way to advance time.
How time advances—and what does not advance it
Time is a limited narrative resource, not a real-time clock that keeps moving while you explore. The publisher says certain goals, such as completing quests or changing from day to night, move time forward. Activities that cost time display an hourglass indicating how much time they will use; PowerPyx also reports that some dialogue choices consume time. Ordinary roaming and idling do not automatically advance the clock.
The story gives Coen 30 in-game days to save his family. Before spending time, review the journal: PowerPyx says time-limited quests show their remaining days there. Also check for the hourglass indicator before starting an activity. The 30-day figure is the story’s stated deadline, not a measured real-world duration.

When to switch between day and night
Day and night provide different abilities and approaches. Coen’s vampire abilities are available at night, while some vendors and objectives are specific to one time of day. PowerPyx says relevant map content is marked with sun or moon icons. Switch when the time-specific objective, vendor, or ability you need becomes available, while considering the time cost.
There is no universal best schedule established by the available guides. Decide based on the objective you want to reach, the hourglass cost of your next activity, and any deadline shown in the journal. The publisher’s game overview describes the distinct day and night gameplay, and its gameplay recap explains the time-advance indicators.

The documented method is to choose Wait at a shrine. The available sources do not establish another location where waiting advances time, the exact duration of one Wait action, or button-by-button controls for each platform. Use the on-screen interaction prompts and verify the result in-game.
