DeepKeep says its AI Lens for Developers can inspect coding-agent prompts, file reads, generated responses, shell commands and MCP tool calls, then allow, block or audit activity. For potentially destructive shell commands, it says the tool can ask a developer to approve the action before it runs. These are vendor-described capabilities; the October 1, 2026 launch materials do not provide independent detection-accuracy results.
What AI Lens for Developers is designed to do
AI Lens is an extension of DeepKeep’s AI usage-control and runtime-protection platform for coding agents that can access local files, run commands and call connected tools. DeepKeep describes it as a lightweight plug-in using hooks built into coding agents, rather than a separate full endpoint agent. Those hooks route activity to DeepKeep for an allow, block or audit decision, with checks described as occurring before or after actions run. The public descriptions do not specify the enforcement point and behavior for every policy. DeepKeep’s October 1, 2026 announcement and its launch blog frame the goal as bringing policy checkpoints into agent workflows: what the agent reads, sends and does.
Approving an agent for use does not by itself govern what it can read or transmit, or which commands and connected tools it can invoke. AI Lens is intended to address those workflow actions through policy checks. The launch materials describe the scope, but do not establish how comprehensively every action can be intercepted in every agent or configuration.
What the stated checks cover
DeepKeep describes checks across prompts, responses, file reads, shell commands and MCP tool calls. It says the system can flag credentials, tokens and passwords in prompts and attached files; inspect file and MCP content; apply controls to personally identifiable information; and flag administrator-defined phrases, such as sensitive code or repository names. It also says AI Lens can flag some insecure patterns in generated code, giving a function that lacks authentication as an example. These are product claims, not independently measured guarantees that every instance will be detected.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The company describes two different responses to risk:
- Developer approval: A potentially destructive shell command can be sent to the developer for approval before execution. This is a review checkpoint for an individual action.
- Policy block: Administrators can configure rules that block activity centrally. A block enforces an administrator-set policy; it is not the same as asking a developer to approve a particular command.
DeepKeep says administrators configure rules in Policy Hub, by role or across the organization, for categories including PII, credentials and destructive commands. Its launch blog says developers cannot disable centrally managed AI Lens. The public materials do not spell out the complete policy language, role-mapping options or behavior for every allow, block, audit and approval case.

Audit records and prompt-content considerations
DeepKeep says each session produces an audit log containing device ID, user ID and prompt content. The company also says a record is retained when a developer changes a blocked request and retries. That may help an organization review policy events, but it makes the handling of prompt content an important deployment and governance question. The public launch descriptions do not state log-retention duration, access controls, or all data-handling details. Security teams should establish those details with DeepKeep before rollout.
Supported agents and deployment options at launch
In its October 1, 2026 launch materials, DeepKeep named Cursor and Claude Code as supported. GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Lovable and Windsurf were described as coming soon, not as launch-day integrations. Compatibility can change, so confirm the currently supported agent versions and the actions each integration can inspect before making a procurement or rollout decision.

DeepKeep’s blog describes VPC and on-premises deployment options. It says air-gapped deployment is supported only when the coding tool and selected model also allow it. That dependency matters: an air-gapped deployment of AI Lens alone does not establish that the complete coding-agent and model workflow can operate without external connectivity.

DeepKeep’s public descriptions do not provide enough detail to independently score the product across all enterprise requirements, and they do not state pricing or independent detection benchmarks. A practical evaluation should verify the following with the vendor and in a controlled pilot:

Help Net Security’s October 1, 2026 launch coverage reports the product’s core claims, but it is not an independent technical test. DeepKeep’s announcement also states that 90% of developers use AI coding agents at work at least weekly; it does not identify the underlying survey, original publisher, sample or method, so that figure should be treated as the company’s attributed claim rather than a separately verified industry statistic.
