According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, as relayed by MacRumors and 9to5Mac, Apple plans to introduce a smart-home hub, a new HomePod mini and a new Apple TV 4K. Gurman says Apple “aims to eventually update its larger HomePod,” but has not given a release date for that refresh. Apple has not confirmed the reported lineup.
What is reportedly coming on October 13?
MacRumors reported on September 30, citing Gurman, that Apple plans to unveil three home products on Tuesday, October 13: a smart-home hub, a new HomePod mini and a new Apple TV 4K. The report does not establish whether Apple will announce them in a full-length event video or through shorter videos and press releases. It is therefore more accurate to describe this as a rumored lineup than as a confirmed Apple event.
The HomePod mini is a smaller product, not a new version of the full-size HomePod. The reported inclusion of a new mini does not mean Apple is also announcing a larger speaker that day. MacRumors’ September 30 report has the reported lineup details.
What has Apple said about a full-size HomePod refresh?
In a separate September 30 report, MacRumors relayed Gurman’s statement that Apple “aims to eventually update its larger HomePod.” 9to5Mac reproduced the closely related wording, “Apple aims to eventually update its larger HomePod speaker as well.” The word “eventually” signals no firm date: neither report establishes when a refreshed full-size model might appear.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
9to5Mac noted that the existing larger HomePod had not been updated since 2023 as of its September 30, 2026 article. That is context about the current model, not confirmation of a successor’s timing or features. Read 9to5Mac’s report and MacRumors’ coverage of the eventual update comment.
What is confirmed, and what remains unknown?
The reports attribute the October lineup and the eventual-refresh remark to Gurman; they are not an Apple announcement. Apple’s HomePod product page lists the current HomePod and HomePod mini and describes the larger speaker as offering high-fidelity audio. It confirms that the current product is listed, not that a refreshed HomePod is coming or that the rumored October lineup is accurate.
