Samsung’s Nearby Device Scanning app changelog has reportedly named One UI 9.5, marking the first explicit reference to the software version in a Samsung app. It is a reference—not a full announcement: Samsung has not provided a release date, feature list or compatible-device list in the cited reports.
Where the One UI 9.5 reference appeared
Contemporaneous reports published October 2, 2026, say the version name appeared in the changelog for an update to Nearby Device Scanning, a Galaxy system component used to detect and help set up nearby devices. PhonAndroid identifies the app version as 11.1.24.8 and reproduces the changelog wording as “ONEUI 9.5 updates,” followed by support for quick-pair popups for new devices and bug fixes and stability: PhonAndroid’s report.
PhonAndroid credits the discovery to Kailash, who shared it on X on October 1, 2026. TecheNet also reports that the reference appeared in the app changelog: TecheNet’s October 2 report.
What the mention confirms—and what it does not
The reports make this a notable step beyond earlier references in code, test servers and unreleased builds: the One UI 9.5 name is reportedly present in a Samsung app changelog. But changelog wording about an app update is not equivalent to a detailed public announcement of a new operating-system release. The cited reports do not establish which One UI 9.5 features Samsung will ship, when it will arrive, or which devices will receive it.

The quick-pair wording is part of the reproduced Nearby Device Scanning changelog. It should not be treated as a complete One UI 9.5 feature list or as confirmation that every listed app change will be a headline operating-system feature.
When will One UI 9.5 arrive?
No release date is given in the cited reports. The changelog reference alone does not establish a rollout window, beta schedule or public download date, so any specific timing would be speculation.

The cited reports say Samsung had not published a compatible-device list. The app reference does not identify eligible Galaxy phones or tablets, so it cannot confirm support for any particular model.

The October reports describe a changelog reference, not a public One UI 9.5 download or installation method. SammyGuru’s tracker said on August 17, 2026, that the software was not publicly available and had no public beta or official download at that time; that earlier status is dated context, not a current installation check: SammyGuru’s tracker. The later app reference does not, by itself, show that an installable release is available.
