Verdict: The Aeris aair Lite has a credible mechanical-filtration setup and useful air-quality controls. iRobot lists H13 HEPA filtration, pollutant-specific CADR figures and room coverage that is sensible for a medium room at higher air-change rates. It is worth considering if you can find the purifier and reasonably priced genuine filters, but its uncertain availability and unverified current app support make it a cautious buy rather than an automatic recommendation.
What the Aeris aair Lite filters
According to iRobot’s current product page, the aair Lite combines a washable pre-filter with an H13 main HEPA filter. iRobot says the system traps 99.95% of particles down to 0.1 microns. That figure is a manufacturer specification measured to ISO 29463 at 0.1 microns and above, with the fan at speed 3 of 5; it is not an independent test of this review.
The unit uses mechanical filtration, and iRobot states that it produces no ozone as a by-product. That is a design claim about the filtration method, not evidence of a particular health outcome. A 360-degree air inlet and V-shaped outlet are also listed by the manufacturer, along with a washable fabric cover and a night mode.
CADR and realistic room coverage
Clean air delivery rate is more useful than a single maximum square-foot claim because it indicates how quickly filtered air is delivered. iRobot lists separate CADR results for three pollutants:

The same page gives these room-size estimates for an eight-foot ceiling:

Those numbers are not interchangeable. One air change per hour is a broad, slow-turnover estimate; four ACH is a more demanding target. For bedrooms, offices and living rooms where you want noticeably faster cleaning, the 425-square-foot figure is the more useful ceiling-height-matched reference. Doors, ceiling height, leakage and the purifier’s selected speed will change the result in a real home.

Controls, sensors and app features
The aair Lite has five fan speeds and an automatic mode. Its PM2.5 monitor is intended to let the purifier adjust automatically, while the companion app is described as providing:
- Power and fan-speed control
- Indoor and outdoor air-quality readings
- Historical air-quality data
- Smart-mode operation
iRobot’s product page documents these capabilities, but current app compatibility and support were not independently verified. Treat the app as a feature to confirm on your phone and in the live product listing rather than a guaranteed long-term software experience. The physical controls and automatic mode remain the safer basis for a purchase decision.

Filter replacement and ownership cost
iRobot says the filters last an average of 10 months. Actual life will depend on dust, smoke, pollen and runtime, so the interval is an average rather than a fixed service schedule. The user manual describes opening the housing to replace both the pre-filter and the main filter; the available copy is a manual mirror, not an official manufacturer-hosted document.
Homes & Gardens reported a $99 replacement-filter price in a review published approximately four years before this article. That is historical context, not a current price. Check the live listing for an aair Lite replacement filter, confirm that it explicitly fits the aair Lite, and calculate the recurring cost using the current price and the roughly 10-month manufacturer estimate.

Noise, size and power
iRobot’s US product page lists dimensions of 18.5 inches high by 11.2 inches in diameter, a weight of 15.4 pounds and 80 W energy consumption. It specifies a 100–230 V AC, 50/60 Hz power supply. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.
A separate Westlab Australia specification sheet gives a 35–55 dB range across fan speeds and an example capacity of about 35.02 m² at four ACH with a 2.4 m ceiling. That document is an older, market-specific reference, so its noise and coverage figures should not be treated as direct replacements for the current US-page specifications.

Availability is the biggest practical question
At the time represented by the current product information, the detailed iRobot listing says “Not Available for Purchase,” while iRobot’s category page still displays the aair Lite with a price range. That conflict means stock and price are uncertain. Check both pages and the retailer’s checkout status before assuming a new unit or replacement filter is obtainable.
Who should buy the aair Lite?
It makes sense for
- Readers who want a compact purifier with a stated H13 HEPA stage and PM2.5 monitoring.
- Rooms up to roughly 425 square feet when targeting four ACH under the manufacturer’s eight-foot-ceiling assumption.
- People comfortable budgeting for recurring filters and checking current availability.
Look elsewhere if
- You need a purifier that is clearly in stock with an established supply of filters.
- You require independently verified performance, current app support or a current replacement-filter price before buying.
- Your room is larger than the relevant ACH-based coverage figure or has unusually high pollutant loads; a larger CADR unit may be more appropriate.
How to judge a listing before purchase
- Open the live iRobot detail and category pages and confirm that the aair Lite can actually be ordered in your region.
- Verify that the listing identifies the model as aair Lite and states which filter stages are included.
- Check the current replacement-filter price and whether the seller explicitly lists compatibility with the aair Lite.
- Compare your room’s area and ceiling height with the 1, 2 or 4 ACH figures rather than using the 1,700-square-foot maximum alone.
- Confirm app availability for your phone, but make sure the purifier can still be operated locally if software support changes.
Bottom line
The Aeris aair Lite’s published H13 filtration, pollutant-specific CADR and automatic PM2.5-based operation give it a sound specification-sheet case. The most defensible use case is a medium room where the four-ACH coverage figure is realistic. However, uncertain stock, an unverified current app experience and a historical rather than current filter price mean the value depends on what you can buy today and how much replacement media costs. It is a reasonable “gets the job done” option when those checks pass, not a purifier to purchase sight unseen.
