Their Singapore IMDA listings were an early regulatory signal, not an official launch announcement. Xiaomi 17 is also now listed in Xiaomi Singapore’s smartphone catalogue.
Reports published in October and November 2025 identified three Xiaomi-group phones in Singapore’s IMDA database: Xiaomi 17 global model 25113PN0EG, POCO F8 Pro 2510DPC44G and POCO F8 Ultra 25102PCBEG. The entries indicated telecommunications approval for certified configurations, but did not establish prices, sale dates or worldwide availability.
What the IMDA listings actually showed
Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) maintains regulatory records for telecommunications equipment approved for use in Singapore. An entry is evidence of regulatory preparation; it is not the same thing as a product announcement, retail launch or confirmation that every configuration will be sold locally.
Contemporary reports described the three entries as 5G mobile devices with Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi connectivity. NFC support was specifically reported for the Xiaomi 17, POCO F8 Pro and POCO F8 Ultra listings (The Tech Outlook). The database record itself should not be treated as a complete specification sheet.

See the contemporaneous model-number reporting from Gadgets 360, The Tech Outlook and HardwareZone. Those reports connected model numbers to consumer names; the IMDA listing should not be quoted as if it necessarily displayed each retail name.
What certification did—and did not—confirm
What it did indicate
- The identified configurations had passed a Singapore telecommunications certification step.
- Xiaomi and POCO were preparing at least some international-market variants.
- Reported connectivity included 5G, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi and NFC.
What it did not establish
- An official launch date or retail price.
- Sales in every country, or even immediate Singapore stock.
- Which memory, colour or carrier configurations would be offered.
- Camera hardware, battery capacity, charging speed, display resolution, processor or software version.
- Approval of the Xiaomi 17 Pro or Pro Max. HardwareZone noted that those models were not yet present in the IMDA database when it reported the listings.
Certification also does not guarantee local warranty, supported 5G bands, eSIM and dual-SIM behaviour, charger contents, payment compatibility, repair access or a particular firmware region.

What happened after the listings
POCO held its official F8 Series Global Launch Event in Bali on November 26, 2025. The POCO F8 Ultra and POCO F8 Pro went on sale from that date, with regional timing differences noted by POCO (official launch event). Xiaomi’s FAQ also gives November 26, 2025 as the F8 Ultra launch date (official FAQ).
That later event confirms that the IMDA entries preceded a real global launch for the two POCO models. It does not change what the certification meant at the time: a regulatory signal, not a launch announcement. Xiaomi 17 should likewise be treated as an official product rather than an unlaunched rumour; Xiaomi Singapore lists it in its current mobile catalogue (Xiaomi Singapore).

POCO F8 Ultra
The Ultra is the larger, more feature-heavy option: it adds a larger display and battery, the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, wireless charging and a 5x periscope telephoto camera. It is the logical choice for buyers prioritising maximum performance, endurance and zoom hardware, but not necessarily for those who want a compact phone or guaranteed local support.
POCO F8 Pro
The Pro uses a somewhat smaller body and display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, a 6,210mAh battery and 100W charging. Its 60mm telephoto is less specialised than the Ultra’s periscope system, and the official materials do not list wireless charging. It may suit buyers who value a smaller form factor or lower product tier.

Xiaomi 17
Xiaomi 17 is the Xiaomi-branded alternative, with Singapore catalogue presence by 2026. Exact regional specifications, memory options, pricing and warranty terms must be checked for the market where you intend to buy. A China model, global model and Singapore retail version can differ in network bands, software, charger contents and warranty.
Singapore buyer checklist
- Check official sales status: IMDA approval alone does not prove that Xiaomi or POCO sells the exact configuration locally.
- Verify the model and bands: Match the phone’s model number and supported 4G/5G bands to your carrier.
- Confirm warranty and service: Imported units may lack Singapore warranty or authorised repair support.
- Check NFC and payments: Certification supports NFC for the reported configurations, but wallet and transit compatibility can depend on software and market.
- Confirm charger contents: Adapter inclusion and plug type vary by country; wireless charging accessories are separate for the Ultra.
- Check firmware region and SIM features: China and global software can differ in Google services, languages, eSIM, bootloader policy and update timing.
Availability and price context
POCO’s global product pages document both F8 models, but sale dates and stock remain region-dependent. An Italian Xiaomi Fan Festival terms page recorded promotional prices of €699.90 for the 12GB/256GB F8 Ultra, €799.90 for 16GB/512GB, €519.90 for the 12GB/256GB F8 Pro and €579.90 for 12GB/512GB. Those were Italy-specific promotional figures, not universal or current Singapore recommended prices (terms page). Xiaomi Singapore also ran an April 1–20, 2026 Fan Festival campaign mentioning both models and a 10% voucher; that promotion has ended (Singapore terms).
The Bottom Line
The IMDA listings were genuine evidence that international versions of the Xiaomi 17, POCO F8 Pro and POCO F8 Ultra were being prepared, and the reported 5G, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and NFC capabilities applied to the certified configurations. They did not, by themselves, announce a launch or guarantee Singapore retail availability. The POCO F8 Pro and F8 Ultra subsequently launched globally on November 26, 2025, so the accurate 2026 framing is a retrospective update—not “launching soon.”
