The Cryorig Monster XX is a real, large dual-tower air CPU cooler—not a liquid or hybrid design. Cryorig lists ten 6 mm heat pipes, 86 fins, two 120 mm Vision F120 ARGB fans, a 159 mm overall height and a 300 W TDP rating. Those figures make it a high-capacity option on paper, but case clearance, socket hardware, regional pricing and the lack of independent launch testing are central to the buying decision.
Cryorig calls the design dual-tower; “dual fin-stack” is a useful search description rather than the product’s official classification. See the official Monster XX specifications.

Dual-tower design and ten-heat-pipe layout
A dual-tower cooler uses two separate fin arrays linked to the CPU contact area by heat pipes. Air passes through the first fin bank, then the second, providing more heat-dissipation area than a single-stack tower while retaining a conventional air-cooling layout.

#1 Best Overall
- 【Better Heat Dissipation】The CPU cooler comes with a dual-tower heatsink and two 140mm FDB fans to ensure excellent heat dissipation from the CPU.
- 【Aesthetic Appeal】An all-black layout cooler can blend seamlessly into the design of many computer cases, especially those with black or dark-colored interiors.
- 【RAM Compatibility】The CPU air cooler gives 58mm clearance for RAM in single fan mode.
- 【7 Heat Pipes】Seven Ф6mm copper heat pipes can efficiently absorb heat from the CPU and transfer it to the heatsink.
- 【PWM Functional】The 140mm PWM fan delivers Low-Noise for automatic speed control and ultra-quiet operation for extreme CPU cooling performance. Max. Air Flow: 98.6CFM; Noise Level: 33.5dB(A) Max.
The Monster XX uses ten 6 mm copper heat pipes in a U-shaped arrangement. Cryorig claims that routing places more pipes over the CPU contact region and improves cooling by 10–15%. That percentage is a Cryorig engineering claim, not a verified temperature reduction; it should not be converted into a guaranteed number of degrees. Base machining, fin spacing, mounting pressure, thermal paste, fan pressure, case airflow and the processor’s actual power all affect results.
Cryorig lists 86 fins. Tom’s Hardware noted that its TE10 had 88, but fin count alone does not establish performance: tower depth, fin geometry, spacing and heat-pipe placement matter as well (Tom’s Hardware launch report).
Vision F120 ARGB fans
The two included 120 mm fans are specified for 800–1,800 RPM ±10%, 58.47 CFM airflow, 1.35 mmH₂O static pressure and 31.5 dBA maximum noise. Their 4-pin PWM connectors let a motherboard vary speed according to temperature.
The 1,800 RPM ceiling is performance-oriented rather than an ultra-silent design. The 31.5 dBA figure describes the fan under Cryorig’s stated conditions; it is not a guarantee for complete system noise. Actual sound depends on the fan curve, turbulence, case panels, ambient conditions and whether both fans run near maximum speed.
ARGB lighting and cabling
Lighting uses a separate 3-pin 5 V-D-G ARGB connector, while the fan motor uses 4-pin PWM. Connect the lighting only to a compatible 5 V 3-pin ARGB header or controller. A 5 V ARGB plug is not interchangeable with a 12 V 4-pin RGB header and connecting it incorrectly can damage the LEDs. Lighting synchronization depends on motherboard or controller software and has no effect on cooling.
Installation features
Cryorig advertises tool-free fan retention, hidden connector routing and a patented four-point mounting system intended to distribute pressure and improve stability. “Tool-free fan installation” does not mean the whole cooler installation requires no tools: the bracket sequence, backplate, thermal paste, screwdriver requirements and included socket hardware must be confirmed in the current manual and package.
Check the box contents carefully when buying imported or old stock. Retail packaging can vary by region, and an incomplete bracket kit can make an otherwise compatible processor unusable.
CPU socket compatibility
Tom’s Hardware reported support for Intel LGA115X, LGA1200, LGA1700 and LGA1851, plus AMD AM4 and AM5. The visible official product page emphasizes specifications rather than displaying the complete socket list, so confirm the current Cryorig mounting manual and the exact bracket kit supplied by the seller before purchase.
- Do not assume support for Intel LGA2011 or LGA2066.
- Do not assume support for Threadripper, server platforms or future sockets.
- Socket support is meaningful only if the required mounting hardware is included or available.
Case, RAM and motherboard clearance
Height is the first fit check: the cooler is 159 mm tall with its fans. A case rated below 159 mm should be treated as incompatible unless its manufacturer explicitly states otherwise. A nominal 160 mm limit leaves almost no assembly tolerance for measurement variation, side-panel shape or a raised front fan.
Its 120 × 133 mm footprint also requires a layout check. Before ordering, verify:
- The case’s maximum CPU-cooler height in the current manual or specification sheet.
- Clearance to the top PCIe slot and graphics-card backplate.
- Clearance above the motherboard’s VRM heatsinks and around the rear exhaust fan.
- RAM height beneath or beside the front fan. Tall modules may force the fan upward, increasing total height.
- Side-panel clearance, especially in compact ATX cases.
- Whether the front tower obstructs motherboard access or future memory replacement.
What the 300 W TDP rating really means
Cryorig rates the Monster XX for up to 300 W, making it a high-capacity air cooler on paper; independent testing is needed to establish sustained performance at that load. The number is not a universal guarantee that every 300 W processor will maintain a particular temperature or boost indefinitely.
Cooling results depend on actual CPU package power, motherboard limits, ambient temperature, thermal interface material, mounting quality, fan curve, case airflow, workload duration and the processor’s architecture. CPU package power also is not synonymous with the processor’s advertised TDP. The rating alone does not prove overclocking suitability or superiority to a 280 mm or 360 mm liquid cooler.

Available launch coverage identified specifications but did not provide a complete standardized review with temperatures, noise-normalized comparisons, fan-speed data, sustained high-power testing or throttling results. Tom’s Hardware said it did not yet have a sample, and HotHardware’s launch coverage likewise did not establish independent benchmarks (HotHardware). Do not treat the 300 W label, 10–15% claim or 31.5 dBA fan figure as measured system performance.

The Monster XX was publicly reported on October 23–24, 2024. Early reports did not confirm U.S. pricing or launch timing. As of August 16, 2026, Cryorig’s product page remains available but shows no U.S. retail price or direct purchase button.
A Taiwan distributor listed the cooler at NT$3,990 during the cited research period (SuperChannel listing). That is a regional price signal, not a worldwide or U.S. price: shipping, tax, import charges, retailer margin and warranty handling can materially change the final cost.
Imported buyers should verify the local return and RMA path, included socket brackets, replacement-fan availability and who supplies missing mounting parts. An attractive sticker price can lose its value if support requires international shipping.

Monster XX versus other dual-tower options
Tom’s Hardware identified Thermalright’s Phantom Spirit 120 EVO and Peerless Assassin 120 SE as relevant comparison products, but the available coverage did not provide equivalent Monster XX test data or current prices.
| Decision factor | What to check | Monster XX evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Thermal performance | Results at your CPU’s sustained package power | Independent comparative data not established in launch coverage |
| Noise | Noise at equal cooling, not only maximum RPM | Fans specified at up to 31.5 dBA; system-level result not established |
| Clearance | Height, RAM and VRM/GPU interference | 120 × 133 × 159 mm including fans |
| Compatibility | Current socket kit and future brackets | Reported LGA115X/1200/1700/1851 and AM4/AM5; verify manual |
| Value | Total delivered price, warranty and accessories | U.S. price not shown; NT$3,990 Taiwan listing |
Choose among these coolers using equal-power, noise-normalized tests when available, then compare height, RAM clearance, fan replacement options, socket support, warranty and total delivered cost. A liquid cooler may be preferable if sustained performance at a very high power level matters more than pump-free simplicity.
Who should buy the Monster XX?
It is a sensible candidate when
- Your case supports at least 159 mm with practical margin.
- You want a large air cooler rather than an AIO pump and loop.
- Your processor has high sustained power requirements.
- You value two fans, PWM control and 5 V ARGB lighting.
- You can confirm the socket kit, seller warranty and total imported cost.
- Its price is competitive with established dual-tower alternatives.
Look elsewhere when
- Your case, memory or motherboard layout is tight.
- Minimum noise is more important than peak cooling capacity.
- You need a compact or lightweight cooler.
- The only seller has unclear warranty or incomplete hardware.
- You require verified benchmark data before buying.
- The final price approaches a reputable 280/360 mm AIO or better-established air cooler.
Bottom line
The Monster XX is technically substantial: ten heat pipes, two 120 mm fans, a large dual-tower heatsink and a claimed 300 W capacity. Its purchase case is less certain than its specification sheet. Confirm the 159 mm clearance and surrounding components, verify the current socket hardware, use the correct 5 V ARGB header, and calculate the delivered regional price. Until independent testing establishes temperatures and noise, treat Cryorig’s capacity and heat-pipe improvement figures as manufacturer claims rather than proof of class-leading performance.
