Decodo Alternatives Compared: Bright Data, Oxylabs, IPRoyal and SOAX

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Bright Data, Oxylabs and IPRoyal are the best-supported Decodo alternatives to put on a shortlist; SOAX is another name to investigate, but its current official offer was not verified here. There is no evidence-based universal winner: choose by proxy type, session behavior, geography, billing model, limits and onboarding—not by a headline rate or an unharmonized network-size claim. Decodo is the current name for the service formerly known as Smartproxy.

Which Decodo alternatives are worth comparing?

Decodo sells residential, datacenter, ISP and mobile proxies. Against that baseline, Bright Data has documented datacenter, static residential, residential and mobile network options; Oxylabs lists residential, ISP, mobile and datacenter services and also offers a Web Scraper API; IPRoyal lists residential, ISP, datacenter and mobile proxies plus Web Unblocker. These descriptions establish product categories, not which provider performs best on a particular site.

SOAX appears in provider comparisons, but its current official product terms and prices were not verified. Treat it as a candidate for further checking rather than assuming that a comparison-page mention confirms present-day availability or suitability.

Provider What the available official material establishes What to check before choosing
Decodo Residential, datacenter, ISP and mobile proxies; vendor-published starting price examples and a trial offer. Which product and billing unit fit the job; current price, session and targeting terms.
Bright Data Datacenter, static residential, residential and mobile networks; KYC before residential or mobile use. Onboarding and verification requirements, plus current prices and billing terms.
Oxylabs Residential, ISP, mobile and datacenter services, as well as a Web Scraper API. Whether you need proxy access or a managed data-gathering service; compare current product terms.
IPRoyal Residential, ISP, datacenter and mobile products, plus Web Unblocker; help pages describe billing and fair-use conditions. Limits and billing rules for the exact product and order, not just the brand.
SOAX Named as an alternative in provider comparisons; current official terms were not verified. Verify the product, availability, price and limits directly before treating it as a finalist.

These are vendor product descriptions and documented terms, not results from a controlled, independent proxy test. They do not support a performance ranking.

Start with the proxy type your workload needs

“Proxy” is not one interchangeable product category. A residential pool, a datacenter proxy, a static ISP address and a mobile proxy can differ in source, persistence, targeting and price model. Start by specifying the job and required behavior; then compare like with like.

Residential proxies

Decodo and IPRoyal list residential proxies, as do Bright Data and Oxylabs in their product material. Decodo publishes a residential starting example of $2 per GB. That is a vendor price example, not a guaranteed quote for every target, region, option or order; confirm the current checkout terms before budgeting.

Ask how the service handles rotation and sticky sessions, which locations can be targeted, what counts as billable traffic, and whether any speed or fair-use conditions apply. A rate per GB alone does not tell you whether a pool will meet the required session duration or geography.

Datacenter proxies

All four providers with substantiated product details—Decodo, Bright Data, Oxylabs and IPRoyal—list datacenter offerings. Decodo’s published starting example is $0.02 per IP. Do not compare that directly with a per-GB residential price: one measures an IP-based purchase while the other measures traffic.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For IPRoyal, fair-use conditions apply to datacenter and ISP products. Its help material says each datacenter/ISP order has a shared allowance of 100 GB per proxy per 30-day cycle. Check the terms attached to the exact order because allowances and policies can change.

ISP or static residential proxies

Decodo, Oxylabs and IPRoyal list ISP proxies; Bright Data lists static residential among its network types. Decodo gives a $0.27 per GB ISP starting example and also shows separate ISP subscription examples elsewhere on its buying page. Those are different pricing contexts, so do not treat the per-GB figure as the price of every ISP option.

Establish whether you need a stable address, a rotating pool, or a particular session duration. Ask whether the quoted unit is per IP, per GB or a subscription, and check any fair-use allowance. Product labels alone do not establish identical IP sourcing or session behavior across vendors.

Mobile proxies

Decodo, Bright Data, Oxylabs and IPRoyal list mobile products. IPRoyal’s FAQ, dated 2026-04-10, states a 30 GB daily limit for dedicated mobile. This is a product-specific condition, not a general mobile-proxy limit across providers. Verify the current terms for the exact mobile plan you are considering.

Compare billing on the same workload

A meaningful price comparison starts with a workload estimate, not the lowest advertised number. Record the expected traffic, request volume, number of concurrent sessions, session duration, geography and required proxy type. Then price the same scenario under each provider’s actual billing unit and limits.

  • Residential: Decodo’s buying page lists a starting example of $2/GB.
  • Datacenter: Decodo lists a starting example of $0.02/IP.
  • ISP: Decodo lists a starting example of $0.27/GB and separate ISP subscription examples on the same buying page.
  • IPRoyal datacenter/ISP: its help material describes a shared 100 GB per proxy per 30-day-cycle allowance per order.
  • IPRoyal residential and rotating mobile: its FAQ says these are billed per GB; its dedicated mobile FAQ describes a 30 GB daily limit.

Decodo’s buying page also states a three-day, 100 MB trial for each type and a 14-day money-back option subject to terms. These are vendor-published offers, accessed 2026-09-29, and should be checked against the live order page. No equivalent current offer is established here for the other providers.

Bright Data says its billing cycle begins on the first day of each month. That calendar-cycle detail can matter when estimating a partial-month start; verify current plan terms as well as the rate. Prices and terms are volatile, and published examples should not be presented as an apples-to-apples cost ranking.

Check onboarding, compliance and operational fit

Bright Data states that KYC is required before residential or mobile network use; its compliance process can include a call and verification. Decodo also describes verification. If launch timing or account approval matters, confirm what information and steps are required before building the integration around a provider.

Next, compare the operational requirements that a price table will not answer:

  • Geography: list the countries, cities or other targeting granularity you actually need, and confirm availability for your chosen proxy category.
  • Sessions: specify whether sessions must rotate, stay sticky for a period, or remain static. Verify the provider’s actual behavior and limits.
  • Concurrency and traffic: estimate simultaneous connections, request rates and transfer volume; ask what limits or fair-use rules apply.
  • Authentication and setup: confirm supported authentication methods and any account-verification requirements.
  • Support and service commitments: if response times or an SLA are necessary, obtain the terms for the plan you would buy. The material available here does not establish comparable support or SLA terms across the providers.
  • Target-site rules and law: assess applicable law and the target site’s terms before collecting data. The providers’ product descriptions do not establish that every use is legally permitted.

Choose between proxy infrastructure and managed data tools

A proxy service supplies network access; a managed scraper or unblocker may handle more of the data-gathering workflow. Oxylabs lists a Web Scraper API, while IPRoyal lists Web Unblocker. Those offerings are relevant if your goal is collected page data or reduced in-house handling rather than simply routing your own requests through proxies.

Before comparing a managed service with raw proxy access, define the output you need. A proxy bill may be based on IPs or traffic; a managed data product can use a different billing unit, such as requests. Without the same workload and unit of output, a headline rate cannot establish which approach is cheaper. The available product evidence also does not establish relative success rates or performance.

A practical shortlist decision

  1. Write down the job: target site, proxy category, required locations, session behavior, traffic and concurrency.
  2. Remove mismatches: exclude offerings that do not document the required category, geography or session model.
  3. Price a representative workload: compare the same volume and duration using each vendor’s billing unit, minimum, fair-use conditions and recurring cycle.
  4. Resolve access requirements: confirm KYC, verification, authentication and any lead time before relying on the service.
  5. Decide whether you need a scraper or unblocker: compare its actual output and billing basis with the cost and engineering work of direct proxy use.
  6. Run a controlled pilot: use the same target set, request pattern and success criteria for each candidate. Measure your own results; no independent comparative benchmark is established here.
  7. Recheck terms before scaling: prices, offers, limits and product conditions can change.

On the substantiated information here, Bright Data is worth considering when broad network categories and documented verification steps fit your needs; Oxylabs when its mix of proxy products and Web Scraper API is relevant; and IPRoyal when its product-specific billing and fair-use conditions suit the workload. Decodo remains a useful baseline, particularly when its published trial and price examples fit your test plan. This is a shortlist by fit, not a performance verdict.

Where ScreenshotNeo fits—and where it does not

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server, not a proxy provider and not a replacement for Decodo, Bright Data, Oxylabs, IPRoyal or SOAX. It is an alternative to try first only if the need behind your evaluation is to capture web pages as images or PDFs, rather than to buy proxy infrastructure or gather data through a proxy. One GET request returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. Its cookie-consent, popup and chat-widget cleanup can help produce a cleaner capture; it does not provide proxy access.

For a direct screenshot call, use the API key and target URL below. The ScreenshotNeo API documentation describes the service.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);

ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, popups and chat widgets before the shot; bot checks, blank pages and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up free for 1,000 screenshots a month, with no card required.

What the evidence can and cannot tell you

The product and pricing details above are vendor-published, not an independent head-to-head test. The available information does not establish comparable network-size definitions, success rates, latency, uptime or legal permissibility for every use. Treat any such figure elsewhere as a claim tied to its named publisher, date and measurement method—not as a cross-provider ranking. Offers and conditions cited here were accessed 2026-09-29, except IPRoyal’s dedicated mobile FAQ, dated 2026-04-10; confirm live terms before ordering.
