There is no single general-purpose TradingView website screenshot endpoint established by TradingView’s documentation. If your application embeds TradingView’s Advanced Charts library, it can capture the chart it controls with the library’s screenshot methods. If you need a remote API that renders a chart from a request, use a hosted provider such as CHART-IMG. For ordinary webpage screenshots rather than TradingView chart rendering, ScreenshotNeo is an alternative to try first.

Which kind of TradingView chart screenshot do you need?

The phrase “TradingView chart screenshot API” can mean two different things:

  • Capture a chart already embedded in your application. TradingView’s Advanced Charts library documents methods for capturing its own rendered chart. Your application hosts and controls the chart instance.
  • Request a chart image from a hosted service. A separate provider accepts API requests and returns an image of a chart it renders. CHART-IMG advertises this model for several TradingView chart styles.

These are not interchangeable. The official capture methods are methods of a charting-library widget; the documentation cited here does not establish a public API for taking screenshots of arbitrary charts on tradingview.com. If your goal is exporting a chart you see on TradingView’s website, do not assume the library’s methods apply to that site.

Capture your own embedded Advanced Charts chart

Use the library approach when your application has an Advanced Charts widget on the page and you want an image of that chart. TradingView documents a client-side method, takeClientScreenshot, that creates a canvas your application can convert to an image. It also documents takeScreenshot, which uploads a snapshot to a configured server and reports the resulting URL through a screenshot-ready event. See TradingView’s widget API documentation for the applicable interface and version-specific details.

4X Trading Journal for Day Traders | Trade Log Book for Stocks, Forex, Options, Crypto | 12 Week Plan with 80 Trades | Trading Accessories | Neuroscience Based with Guided Trading Plan | Traders Gift
  • BUILT FOR YOUR MARKET, FUTURES, STOCKS, FOREX, OPTIONS & CRYPTO: 4X is a mindset and process journal, not a strategy tool tied to one instrument. The plan, the trade log, the deep dive and the weekly review work the same whether you trade ES, EURUSD, SPY or BTC. Traders use it across all five markets every day.
  • THE 2026 EDITION, REBUILT FROM TRADER FEEDBACK: Same trusted system, better in every way. An extra daily page for more room to log the session. Weekly reviews now grouped with each week's trades, so no more flipping back and forth. Crisp, darker print that's easy on the eyes after hours on a screen. A Quick-Start QR that scans straight to step-by-step instructions.
  • NOT A NOTEBOOK, A COMPLETE 12-WEEK SYSTEM: Start with a one-time 9-part Trading Plan (your market, setups, risk rules and discipline checklist). Then twelve identical weeks: five Daily Logs, five Deep Dive trade pages, and a two-page Weekly Review. 189 guided pages, roughly 80 trades. Guided prompts walk you through every step. You never stare at a blank page.
  • RATE YOUR EXECUTION, NOT YOUR RESULT: Your platform tracks the P&L. Nothing tracks the why. Log energy, sleep and mindset before the open; grade every trade A to F on whether you followed your plan, not on whether it won; then face the pattern every weekend with START / STOP / IMPROVE / CONTINUE. That review habit is the edge. You're 42% more likely to hit a goal you've written down.
  • BUILT TO LAST, ARRIVES GIFT-READY: Vegan-leather hardcover, 100gsm bleed-resistant paper, two ribbon markers and an elastic closure band. Bound to lay flat so you're not fighting the spine while you write. 189 pages, 5.75" x 8.5", carries in a bag. Ships in a premium gift box: the gift every trader in your life actually wants.

Client-side capture: get a canvas

The client-side path is appropriate when the application needs to control what happens to the captured image, such as converting it to a Blob, previewing it, or uploading it to your own backend. TradingView documents the method, but the exact setup depends on your installed library version and widget lifecycle. Call it after the widget is ready and handle the returned canvas in your application.

// Call after your Advanced Charts widget is ready.
const canvas = await widget.takeClientScreenshot();

canvas.toBlob((blob) => {
  if (!blob) {
    throw new Error("Could not encode chart screenshot");
  }

  const imageUrl = URL.createObjectURL(blob);
  const preview = document.querySelector("#chart-preview");
  preview.src = imageUrl;
}, "image/png");

This illustrates the browser-side canvas conversion, not a complete widget initialization: widget must be your initialized TradingView charting-library widget, and the target element must exist in your page. Revoke the object URL with URL.revokeObjectURL(imageUrl) when it is no longer needed. If you instead need a durable image, send the Blob to a backend you control rather than treating a browser object URL as a permanent link.

Server upload: receive the screenshot URL

TradingView’s takeScreenshot path uploads the snapshot to the server configured for that widget and emits a screenshot-ready event with the resulting URL. This is useful when your integration is already set up for that upload flow. Configure the server as required by your charting-library version, register the event handler, then invoke the method on the ready widget. The endpoint and event payload are integration-specific; use TradingView’s current widget documentation rather than assuming a universal hosted endpoint.

TradingView describes its snapshot feature as allowing users to take chart snapshots via buttons on the top toolbar; its documentation also covers programmatic capture. See the widget API reference and the snapshot documentation for current supported behavior.

Use a hosted chart-image API when you need remote rendering

CHART-IMG advertises REST API products for Mini Chart, Advanced Chart v1, Advanced Chart v2, and Layout Chart. Its vendor page says Advanced Chart v1 supports more than 60 customizable indicators and Advanced Chart v2 more than 90; these are vendor-published feature claims, not independent measurements. Review the provider’s request parameters and current plan page before integrating: the chart type, dimensions, indicator configuration, request quota, rate limit, and watermark rules determine whether it fits your workload.

CHART-IMG posted plans

The following values were listed on CHART-IMG’s page as accessed on September 29, 2026. They are vendor claims and can change, so confirm them on the CHART-IMG product page before budgeting or shipping:

Plan Posted price Daily requests Rate limit Maximum resolution Watermark
Basic $0/month 50 1 request/second 800 × 600 Yes
Pro $7/month 500 10 requests/second 1920 × 1080 No
Mega $10/month 1,000 15 requests/second 1920 × 1600 No
Ultra $20/month 3,000 35 requests/second 2048 × 1920 No

Do not treat the table as an uptime or quality comparison: the figures describe what the provider listed, not independent testing. CHART-IMG’s terms state that uptime is not guaranteed. They also say free and personal users have a personal-use license, while enterprise users receive a license for use in programs or apps; resale is prohibited unless explicitly approved. The terms page says it was updated January 19, 2022, so check the live terms for any later changes before relying on them. Read CHART-IMG’s terms.

Which approach fits your workflow?

Need Better starting point Why
You already embed and control an Advanced Charts widget TradingView library screenshot methods Capture the chart instance your application renders, either as a client-side canvas or through the documented upload flow.
You need a remote service to render TradingView-style charts from requests A hosted chart-image provider such as CHART-IMG The provider advertises multiple chart styles and plan-based request and image limits.
You need screenshots of webpages, not parameterized financial chart rendering ScreenshotNeo It is a website screenshot API, not a TradingView chart renderer; it can capture a webpage URL and return an image or PDF.

For any hosted chart provider, compare the actual request parameters and output limits with your intended chart, then verify the license for your deployment. TradingView says attribution is required when its products are used outside its website, including widgets. Consult TradingView’s policies and any applicable market-data provider terms for the use case you plan to ship.

Or skip the browser setup: ScreenshotNeo for webpage screenshots

ScreenshotNeo is not a substitute for a chart-rendering API that accepts ticker, timeframe, and indicator parameters. It takes a webpage URL and returns a screenshot or PDF, which can be useful if your chart is already rendered on a page you can access. Its clean-shot steps accept cookie or consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server exposes screenshot, page-info, and PDF tools for AI agents and MCP clients.

One GET request is enough to capture a page. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for supported options and response details.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

The sample captures Stripe; replace that URL with the public page you want to capture and use your API key. ScreenshotNeo supports PNG, JPEG, WebP, and PDF output. Its plans include 1,000 screenshots per month free with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month with no card.

Rights, attribution, and deployment checks

  • TradingView attribution: TradingView says attribution is required when its products are used outside its website, including widgets. Check the current policy and display attribution wherever your integration requires it.
  • Chart and market-data rights: A screenshot feature does not itself establish permission to redistribute underlying market data. Check the data provider’s terms for display, storage, and redistribution in your application.
  • Hosted provider licensing: Confirm that the plan permits your intended use, especially if the images appear in an app, are offered to customers, or are resold. CHART-IMG’s published terms distinguish personal use from enterprise use.
  • Operational dependencies: Client capture depends on the embedded chart being loaded and ready. A hosted API depends on the provider’s availability, request limits, and rendering behavior. Design retries and error handling around the documented conditions rather than assuming every request yields an image.

Troubleshooting chart screenshots

The screenshot method is undefined

Confirm that you are working with the Advanced Charts widget API rather than an unrelated TradingView embed. Make the call only after widget initialization is complete, and check the API reference for the exact library version in your application.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The captured canvas is blank or incomplete

Wait until the chart has finished rendering and its data is visible before requesting a client screenshot. If the page changes symbol, timeframe, or indicators asynchronously, capture only after those updates have settled. The cited documentation does not establish a universal wait duration, so use your widget’s lifecycle and application state rather than a guessed fixed delay.

The upload method does not return a URL

Check that the screenshot upload server is configured for the widget and that your screenshot-ready event handler is registered before calling takeScreenshot. Handle upload failures in your application, and consult the current widget API for the expected event and payload.

A hosted API request is throttled or rejected

Compare request frequency and daily usage with the provider’s current plan limits. Respect its rate limit, queue bursts, and retry transient failures with backoff; do not retry indefinitely or assume a failed request is free unless the provider’s terms say so. Check authentication and required chart parameters against the provider’s current API documentation.

The image is smaller than expected or has a watermark

Verify the selected plan’s maximum dimensions and watermark policy before making the request. For CHART-IMG, the page accessed September 29, 2026 listed the limits in the plan table above; recheck the current page because those commercial details can change.

Performance and reliability considerations

Client-side capture avoids a separate chart-rendering request because it uses the chart already present in your application, but it still waits on that chart’s load and render state. A hosted service can separate chart rendering from your application’s browser, but it adds a network dependency and plan-specific throttles. For either model, avoid making duplicate captures when the chart has not changed, queue bursts, and surface a useful failure state instead of silently attaching an empty image.

For a production workflow, test the exact chart configuration, image dimensions, and intended deployment rights before relying on screenshots in reports, alerts, or customer-facing pages. The provider information cited here does not establish independent performance or uptime results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does TradingView provide a public endpoint to screenshot any chart on tradingview.com?

The cited TradingView documentation covers screenshot methods on its Advanced Charts widget; it does not establish a general public screenshot endpoint for arbitrary charts on tradingview.com.

Can I use the official screenshot methods without embedding Advanced Charts?

The documented methods belong to the charting-library widget interface, so they are intended for an application that has that widget.
