Those are vendor descriptions, not independent performance tests.

Because hosting is managed, the service is convenient for beginners but gives you less infrastructure control than self-hosted software.

Paid plans are required to connect a custom domain. The pricing page advertises domains at $24.95 per year and custom email at $25 per year; treat both as separate recurring costs rather than assuming they are included in the plan price. A Strikingly Help Center article also says Pro and VIP users can remove footer branding, add custom HTML/CSS/JavaScript, password-protect sites, and use up to 100 pages per site. For current comparisons, the live pricing page should take precedence if those details differ.
What you can build
Simple business and personal sites
Strikingly fits a brochure site, freelancer profile, event page, résumé, portfolio, or campaign landing page where visitors need clear information and a small number of sections. Limited’s five-page ceiling is enough for a compact site but restrictive for a growing organization.
Blogs, forms, and audience features
The platform presents built-in blogging, forms, analytics, social-feed sections, password protection on higher tiers, memberships, newsletters, and live chat on VIP. Confirm the exact feature and contact limits in your account because plan packaging is subject to change.

Small online stores
Simple Store is described as supporting physical products, shipping, coupons, and digital goods. Strikingly lists Stripe and PayPal as payment-gateway options. The plan fee and your payment processor’s charges are separate calculations; the available material does not establish current Stripe or PayPal processing rates.
Domain, hosting, and branding
With Strikingly, hosting and HTTPS are part of the hosted service, so there is no separate web-server subscription to configure. A custom domain requires a paid plan. - Your information architecture is compact: a handful of pages rather than a deep content hierarchy.
- You are building a portfolio, personal site, landing page, or small catalog.
- You prefer one managed bill for hosting, SSL, editor, and basic site tools.
Look elsewhere when
- You need more than 100 pages or a complex navigation and content model.
- Your store may exceed 300 products soon, or you need more than VIP’s stated 500-product limit.
- You require extensive code-level control, custom integrations, or infrastructure access.
- Transaction fees materially affect your margins and a 0% fee requires a $49/month annual-billing-equivalent plan.
How to compare Strikingly with alternatives
Do not compare headline subscription prices alone. Check these requirements against each builder:
