What’s actually slowing this PC down?

On a Google Pixel running Android 12 or newer, take a normal screenshot with Power + Volume down, then tap Capture more in the preview. Drag the crop handles to include the rest of the scrollable page, and save, edit, or share the result. The option appears only on supported scrollable screens, not every app or view.
Take a scrolling screenshot on Pixel
- Open the webpage, conversation, document, or app screen you want to capture.
- Press Power and Volume down at the same time.
- When the screenshot preview appears at the bottom, tap Capture more.
- Drag the crop handles or guidelines downward until they cover the content you need. You can stop before the end of the page if you only need part of it.
- Save the screenshot. Tap the preview first if you want to edit or share it immediately.
Google’s Pixel Phone Help says the procedure works on devices running Android 12 and up, “on most screens that allow you to scroll.” That wording matters: scrolling capture is conditional on both the Android version and the app’s scrollable surface.
What you need before Capture more appears
Android 12 or later
Google lists Android 12 as the minimum for this built-in scrolling screenshot feature. If your Pixel is on an earlier release, the preview may offer only a regular screenshot. Check Settings > System > Software update and install an available update before troubleshooting the button.
A recognized scrolling surface
The screen must actually contain content that can scroll, and the app must expose that content in a way Pixel’s screenshot tool recognizes. Long webpages, many conversations, and documents work well; a static image, a dialog, or a custom view may not. Google says “most screens,” not all screens, so an app can legitimately omit Capture more even when the phone is fully updated.
#1 Best Overall
- Attention-grabbing design meets the latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera on the new Google Pixel 11 Pro; Gemini Intelligence helps manage details so you can live in the moment[1]; and the phone is available in two sizes
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
- Magic Capture catches the moment as you live it: With just one tap, Pixel 11 Pro captures video and photos, and automatically edits, crops, and unblurs a curated collection, ready to share – and you get the memory of how it felt to be in the moment
- Two new cameras for more brilliant photos: A larger telephoto sensor captures 30% more light for clear, beautiful photos and videos, even in the dark[3]; Pixel’s longest zoom ever helps you capture details from impressive distances[4]
Enough storage
A full-page image is larger than a standard screenshot. If saving fails, check Settings > Storage, remove unnecessary files, and try again. Very long pages can also produce a large image that is awkward to open or share; capture only the range you need when possible.
Where to find the Capture more control
Capture more is a button in the screenshot preview that appears immediately after you press Power and Volume down. It is not a permanent setting in the main Settings app. Take the screenshot, then look along the bottom of the display before the preview disappears. Tap Capture more and the screen will show crop guides for extending the capture.
If you dismiss the preview without selecting Capture more, take the screenshot again. The saved standard screenshot cannot normally be expanded afterward by the Pixel screenshot editor.
How to control the captured length
After selecting Capture more, drag the lower handle down through the page. The visible screenshot can extend beyond the portion currently on screen, so move slowly and watch the preview for the stopping point. Keep the top boundary at the beginning of the content you want. When the selection is correct, use the on-screen save control; use the preview’s edit and share controls if you need markup, cropping, or another app.

Capture an entire webpage versus a section
For a complete article, extend the handle to the final content and leave out browser controls if the selection allows it. For a conversation or document, stopping at a logical heading or message boundary makes the resulting image easier to read. A single extremely long image may be difficult for recipients to view, so several shorter captures can be more practical.
Dynamic and lazy-loaded content
Some pages load images or messages only as you scroll. If the lower part appears blank, scroll through the page normally first so the content loads, then repeat the screenshot. Apps that require a separate “load more” action may still prevent a continuous capture.
Alternative ways to start a screenshot
Gesture navigation
With gesture navigation, swipe up from the bottom and hold to open Overview. Select the app, then tap Screenshot. If the resulting preview offers Capture more, continue with the same crop-handle procedure.
Three-button navigation
Open Overview using the navigation bar’s Overview button, select the app, and tap Screenshot. The scrolling option is still dependent on Android 12 or later and a supported scrollable screen.
Google Assistant
Google also supports the voice command, “Hey Google, take a screenshot.” This starts a normal screenshot; if the preview provides Capture more, tap it and select the additional content manually. Voice capture does not override an app that does not expose a scrollable surface.
Troubleshooting: Capture more is missing or fails
The button is not shown
- Confirm the Pixel runs Android 12 or newer.
- Verify that the page or app really scrolls; try swiping within the content first.
- Take the screenshot while the scrollable content itself is focused, not while a keyboard, menu, or floating dialog covers it.
- Try the same steps in another long webpage. If Capture more works there, the original app or view is the limitation.
The screenshot stops early
Scrollable capture follows the content the app exposes. Dismiss sticky overlays, close an expanded keyboard, and let lazy-loaded material finish loading before retrying. If the app inserts a separate screen rather than one continuous scroll, capture each section separately.
The result contains blank areas
Blank space can occur when a page has not loaded its images or when content is rendered only after a delay. Scroll through the page once, wait for images to appear, and retry. A reliable network connection can help, but it cannot make an unsupported app compatible.
Saving, editing, or sharing does not work
Open the preview immediately after capture and use its edit or share controls. If the file will not save, free storage space and retry with a shorter selection. For a share failure, save first, then attach the image from your gallery or file picker.
Privacy and sensitive information
A scrolling screenshot can include messages, account identifiers, or content far below the visible area. Inspect the entire image before sharing. Use the editor to crop or mark sensitive details, and avoid capturing passwords or payment information.

Where Pixel screenshots are saved
To locate saved captures, open Google Photos > Collections > On this device > Screenshots. Tap a screenshot to edit, crop, annotate, or share it. The same folder contains ordinary and scrolling screenshots, so sort by date if you have many files.
Or skip the browser setup
If your goal is a clean image of a public webpage rather than a screenshot from the Pixel itself, ScreenshotNeo can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF from one request. It accepts consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be disabled. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. Use this cURL request (replace the URL and key):
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
