But technical access is not permission: Audible’s License Agreement, last updated February 18, 2025, excludes commercial use and collection of product listings, descriptions, or prices, and bars data mining and similar extraction tools. Before automating collection, get written permission or use a licensed feed that defines the fields and uses you are allowed.
Can you scrape Audible product pages?
Technically, a developer can request a known Audible /pd/ product page and parse structured data or visible labels in its HTML. Whether you may do so is a separate question. Audible’s License Agreement, last updated February 18, 2025, says the license does not include “any collection and use of any product listings, descriptions, or prices” and excludes “data mining, robots, or similar data gathering and extraction tools.” Audible’s Conditions of Use also prohibit systematic extraction or reuse without express written permission and creating databases containing substantial parts of the service, including prices and product listings.
Those terms make an unapproved scraper a poor foundation for a production catalog, price monitor, or commercial dataset. The practical route is to obtain written authorization or a licensed data feed, then implement only the collection the authorization allows. This is a technical overview, not legal advice; have counsel assess the terms and your intended use.
Audible’s iOS Conditions of Use, last updated September 10, 2025, separately prohibit commercial or illegal use of the service or content and attempts to disable, bypass, modify, defeat, or circumvent DRM or other protection systems. Do not work around a CAPTCHA, login restriction, paywall, bot check, or other access control to make a scraper function.

What information might a product page contain?
The official ACX Book Posting Agreement names digital ISBN or a similar identifier, title, genre, author, publisher, initial publication date, territory, and list price as metadata Audible may use in marketing, distribution, and sale. These are sensible fields to consider when designing a normalized schema, but their appearance in that agreement does not authorize a third party to collect them.
Crawlbase’s technical guide describes an ld+json block on Audible product pages that commonly includes name, price, currency, and availability. Example community scraper code also documents fields such as author, rating, and regular price from direct /pd/ URLs. These are examples, not a stable contract: fields and markup can vary by marketplace, availability, login state, experiments, and page changes. A rating or review count is a snapshot, not a durable product fact.
Design the record around context
Store field values with the context required to interpret them. A price without a currency or marketplace is ambiguous; an availability value without a retrieval time can quickly become misleading. For an authorized collection, a record might include:
- A product identifier, such as an ASIN or digital ISBN, if present and permitted.
- Title, contributors, publisher, genre, and publication date only when the page supplies them and the authorization covers them.
- Price as returned, along with currency and marketplace or locale.
- Availability, rating, and review count as time-stamped observations rather than permanent attributes.
- Retrieval timestamp, source URL, parser version, and an authorized retention or deletion status.
Get authorization before collecting
Do not treat a URL that loads in a browser, a public-looking JSON-LD block, or a working unofficial endpoint as consent. Audible’s Conditions of Use say: “You must not systematically extract and/or re-use parts of the content of the Audible Service without our express written permission.” Obtain written permission or a licensed feed before automated collection, especially before creating or redistributing a catalog.

Make the permission operational, not just general. Ask for written terms that specify the allowed domains and locales, fields, collection frequency, storage duration, redistribution rights, and a contact for takedown or change requests. Keep a copy of the authorization and link each collection job to the scope it permits. If the terms do not clearly cover a planned field or use, pause and clarify rather than inferring permission from technical availability.
A cautious workflow for authorized pages
- Define the scope. Record the permission, allowed marketplaces and URLs, fields, request rate, retention period, and redistribution rules. Keep a small allowlist of approved product URLs.
- Start with known product URLs. Test a few authorized
/pd/pages. Do not crawl search results or expand into a catalog unless the permission expressly covers that activity. - Retrieve only through permitted access. Use a normal HTTP client only where authorized. Do not bypass a CAPTCHA, login control, paywall, robots restriction, DRM, or other technical barrier. Stop if the service denies access or presents a bot check.
- Parse structured data first. Inspect JSON-LD scripts and parse valid JSON. Map visible labeled fields only as a fallback, and do not assume selectors or property names will stay the same.
- Preserve provenance. Retain the raw response and retrieval timestamp only as long as the authorization allows. Store normalized fields separately so you can re-parse an allowed document after a parser change.
- Validate locale-sensitive fields. Keep price, currency, language or marketplace, and availability together. Treat ratings and review counts as dated observations.
- Rate-limit and monitor. Follow the authorized rate, cache only as allowed, log changes and failures, and stop collection when permission changes or a terms update affects your scope.
- Provide a deletion path. Be able to identify records derived from a given URL or authorization so you can update or remove them when required.
Example: parse JSON-LD from an authorized HTML file
The following standalone Python example parses a locally saved HTML response. It does not fetch Audible pages, bypass access controls, or establish permission to collect data. Save only a page you are authorized to retain as product.html, then run the script. It inspects JSON-LD for common product fields and prints the raw JSON-LD product object so fields not explicitly selected are not silently discarded.
from pathlib import Path
import json
from bs4 import BeautifulSoup
html = Path("product.html").read_text(encoding="utf-8")
soup = BeautifulSoup(html, "html.parser")
def walk(value):
"""Yield JSON objects, including objects nested in @graph or lists."""
if isinstance(value, dict):
yield value
for child in value.values():
yield from walk(child)
elif isinstance(value, list):
for child in value:
yield from walk(child)
found = False
for script in soup.find_all("script", type="application/ld+json"):
raw = script.string or script.get_text()
if not raw.strip():
continue
try:
document = json.loads(raw)
except json.JSONDecodeError as exc:
print(f"Skipping invalid JSON-LD: {exc}")
continue
for item in walk(document):
item_type = item.get("@type", [])
types = item_type if isinstance(item_type, list) else [item_type]
if "Product" not in types:
continue
found = True
offers = item.get("offers", [])
if isinstance(offers, dict):
offers = [offers]
print(json.dumps({
"name": item.get("name"),
"sku": item.get("sku"),
"isbn": item.get("isbn"),
"offers": [
{
"price": offer.get("price"),
"priceCurrency": offer.get("priceCurrency"),
"availability": offer.get("availability"),
}
for offer in offers if isinstance(offer, dict)
],
"raw_product_jsonld": item,
}, ensure_ascii=False, indent=2))
if not found:
print("No Product JSON-LD found; the page may use different or no structured data.")
Install the parser dependency with python -m pip install beautifulsoup4. The script deliberately does not guess missing author, rating, or price fields. If the current authorized response does not contain a field, record it as absent rather than manufacturing a value from an unrelated source.
Retrieval and parsing are separate steps
If your authorization permits direct retrieval, add a request layer that uses the allowed URL list and rate limits; keep that layer separate from parsing. Check the HTTP status and content type, set a timeout, and stop on access-denied or bot-check responses. Do not keep retrying a blocked request or rotate identities to evade a control. Keep secrets out of source code and logs if the approved method requires credentials.

Is there an Audible API instead?
The audible project’s external API documentation is unofficial. It lists catalog-product endpoints with filters such as ASIN, title, author, narrator, publisher, and keywords, plus response groups for contributors, media, price, product attributes, descriptions, details, plans, ratings, reviews, samples, series, and SKU data. That documentation is an implementation reference, not proof of a supported public API or permission to use the service.
Before relying on any endpoint, confirm with Audible that you have authorization, valid credentials, permitted use, current endpoint behavior, and applicable rate limits. An API-like interface does not change the need for permission, and an undocumented endpoint can change or stop working without notice.
Choose a permitted collection method
Once rights are established, compare legitimate options on the factors that affect whether the resulting data is usable and supportable:
| Factor | What to establish |
|---|---|
| Authorization and reuse | Which fields can be collected, stored, displayed, redistributed, or used commercially? |
| Coverage and stability | Which marketplaces and product fields are included, and how are schema or catalog changes communicated? |
| Limits and reliability | What request rate, concurrency, retries, and availability are permitted or supported? |
| Cost | What are the recurring and usage-based charges, and what happens when limits are exceeded? |
| Audit and deletion | Can records be traced to an authorization and removed or updated when required? |
A managed retrieval provider may reduce the work of handling retries or rendering, while direct authorized requests may reduce dependencies. Neither option makes a prohibited collection permissible; the governing written permission or licensed feed matters more than the transport method.

Troubleshooting an authorized parser
No JSON-LD or no Product object
The response may use a different markup shape, omit structured data, or provide a page variant that does not expose the expected product object. Inspect the authorized raw response and document what is actually present. If allowed, add a separately tested parser for visible labels; do not silently substitute guessed values.
Price is missing or malformed
Price can be absent or vary with availability and marketplace. Keep the currency and locale with the value, and preserve the raw representation. Do not convert a missing price into zero or assume that a displayed amount applies to another market.
The request returns a block or CAPTCHA
Stop. Do not try to defeat the barrier with browser automation, proxy rotation, identity changes, or repeated retries. Confirm whether the authorization permits that access path and contact the appropriate rights holder or feed provider.
The parser breaks after a page change
Retain parser-version and failure logs, compare only responses you are authorized to retain, and update the field mapping against the current permitted format. Make missing fields explicit and alert on unexpected schema changes rather than emitting incomplete records as if they were complete.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server, not an Audible metadata feed or authorization to extract listings. For a page you are permitted to capture, one GET request returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. A screenshot gives you a visual capture; it does not replace structured, authorized metadata collection.
For example, capture an authorized product page as an image with cURL:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://www.audible.com/pd/PRODUCT-NAME/ASIN -o shot.webp
Replace the example URL with the exact page you are authorized to capture. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for parameters and response details.
- Before capture, it accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be turned off.
- Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing; response headers state the page verdict and whether the shot was billed.
- An MCP server provides
