Xiaomi said the Civi 4 Pro generated more than 200% of the Xiaomi Civi 3’s entire first-day sales amount within its first 10 minutes on sale in mainland China on March 26, 2024. That is a notably strong launch result, but it refers to reported transaction value—not a confirmed unit count—and it was a company announcement rather than an independently audited market measurement.
What Xiaomi actually reported
The Civi 4 Pro went on sale in China on March 26, 2024. Xiaomi’s official phone account reportedly announced that its sales amount exceeded 200% of the Civi 3’s total sales amount for the previous generation’s entire first-sale day after only 10 minutes. The claim was relayed by Chinese technology outlets and by Gizmochina, Sina and 三易生活.
In practical terms, Xiaomi said the new phone’s early sales value was more than twice the older model’s full first-day sales value. The comparison is limited to the mainland-China launches and to the stated time windows.
Why “200%” does not mean twice as many phones
“Sales amount” generally describes monetary transaction value. It is not the same as units sold. The reports do not disclose the Civi 3’s full-day revenue, the Civi 4 Pro’s exact 10-minute revenue, units sold, average selling prices, refunds, reservations or the channels included.

- It does not establish 200% year-over-year unit growth.
- It does not show that exactly twice as many devices were sold.
- It does not describe lifetime revenue or an equivalent period for both phones.
- It is not an independent market-share or sell-through measurement.
Different model prices can also separate revenue growth from unit growth. A higher average selling price could increase transaction value without producing the same percentage increase in devices sold.

What made the Civi 4 Pro different
The result arrived with a product that was positioned above a routine specification refresh. Xiaomi presented it as the first smartphone announced with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 platform, while retaining the Civi line’s emphasis on appearance, portraits and selfies.

Performance and display
- Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 mobile platform.
- 6.55-inch display with 2750 × 1236 resolution, commonly described as 1.5K-class.
- Up to a 120Hz refresh rate.
- Manufacturer-claimed peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Peak brightness is not the same as sustained full-screen brightness in normal use.
Camera positioning
The rear system combined a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel portrait/telephoto camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera. Leica branding and Xiaomi’s Xiaomi AISP computational-photography platform supported the phone’s portrait-focused identity. Two 32-megapixel front cameras strengthened its appeal to selfie and video-call users.
Thin, light design
Standard versions were reported at approximately 179.3 grams and 7.45mm thick. The green version was reported at about 177.6 grams and 7.75mm. The slim build and fashion-oriented color options differentiated the Civi 4 Pro from heavier performance-focused phones.
China launch prices
These were mainland-China launch prices from March 2024, not current international prices or a recommendation for today’s retail market.

The configurations and pricing were reported by IT之家 and the launch announcement coverage. Converting 2,999 yuan directly into a current US price would be misleading because taxes, import costs, exchange rates and regional pricing differ.
Why early demand may have been strong
The milestone is consistent with several launch advantages, although the available reports do not isolate which factor mattered most.

Camera and design differentiation
Leica-associated imaging, dual front cameras, a lightweight body and style-led colors gave the phone a clear identity beyond processor specifications.
Price positioning
The 2,999-yuan entry price placed premium display, camera and chipset features below Xiaomi’s conventional flagship tier, potentially widening its appeal.
Launch concentration
The first 10 minutes capture concentrated interest from pre-launch buyers, Xiaomi fans, promotions and shoppers attracted by the novelty of the first Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 phone. That makes the figure useful as an early-demand signal, not a complete assessment of the product.

What the figure does not prove
- Long-term commercial success or sustained demand.
- High market share in China or elsewhere.
- Strong global sales or sales outside mainland China.
- A specific number of units sold or inventory sell-through.
- Customer satisfaction or superior camera and battery performance versus competitors.
- That the Civi 4 Pro outperformed every phone in its price range.
No independent sales dataset identified in the coverage confirms an absolute revenue or unit figure. The evidence supports attributing the milestone to Xiaomi rather than presenting it as an audited market result.
Availability caveat for buyers outside China
The Civi 4 Pro was introduced as a China-market model. Imported units can differ in software, network-band support, Google-service availability, warranty and after-sales support depending on the destination country and seller. The March 2024 China launch prices should not be treated as evidence of current official US or worldwide availability.
Bottom line
Xiaomi’s reported benchmark shows an exceptionally strong opening for the Civi 4 Pro in mainland China: in 10 minutes, the company said its sales value exceeded the Civi 3’s complete first-sale-day total. It is credible evidence of intense early demand relative to Xiaomi’s own comparison, but the missing unit and revenue figures, lack of independent auditing and short time window prevent it from proving broader or lasting commercial success.
