Instead, Xiaomi unveiled HyperOS in October 2023 as the successor to MIUI. If you are waiting for “MIUI 15,” check your exact Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO model for the appropriate HyperOS release.
Xiaomi’s original global schedule targeted the first stable HyperOS updates for compatible devices in Q1 2024, while later HyperOS generations have followed phased, model- and region-specific rollouts.
Did Xiaomi release MIUI 15?
No. Xiaomi did not publish a standalone public MIUI 15 release or an official MIUI 15 launch schedule. The company moved from MIUI 14 to HyperOS instead. It is more accurate to say that Xiaomi abandoned the MIUI 15 branding in favor of HyperOS than to claim Xiaomi formally announced that MIUI 15 was “canceled.”
Rumored screenshots, internal builds or old “expected release date” stories do not establish a public product release. Xiaomi’s official product pages and rollout schedules use HyperOS rather than MIUI 15.

MIUI 14 was effectively the last major version in Xiaomi’s traditional MIUI naming sequence for mainstream smartphone software. Xiaomi’s own HyperOS material presents HyperOS as the newer platform: Xiaomi HyperOS overview.
What replaced MIUI 15?
The successor branding is Xiaomi HyperOS. Xiaomi describes it as a human-centered operating system intended to connect phones, tablets, smart-home products, cars and other devices. Xiaomi says its design priorities include system-level refactoring, cross-device connectivity, proactive intelligence, end-to-end security and an open platform; those are the company’s stated goals, not independent performance measurements.

When did HyperOS start rolling out?
| Period | What Xiaomi announced | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| October 2023 | Xiaomi unveiled HyperOS. | This was the platform announcement, not a single global phone-update date. |
| Q1 2024 | Xiaomi’s first global schedule targeted stable HyperOS releases for the first compatible devices. | The window applied to listed devices and did not mean every country received the update simultaneously. |
| September–November 2025 onward | Xiaomi’s global HyperOS 3 page listed phased “soft release” windows for selected products. | A soft-release window is a staged rollout, not a universal date for every owner. |
The original global schedule listed the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi Pad 6 among the first compatible products: Xiaomi’s global HyperOS schedule.

Which Xiaomi phones get the successor update?
Eligibility is determined by the exact model, regional firmware branch, carrier and Xiaomi’s rollout policy. A phone being a Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO device—or running MIUI 14—does not by itself prove that it will receive a particular HyperOS generation.
Xiaomi’s official HyperOS 3 page identifies phased windows for selected products, including:
- Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra models.
- Selected Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 14T models.
- Selected Redmi Note, Redmi and POCO phones.
- Xiaomi Pad and Redmi Pad tablets.
- Selected Xiaomi wearables.
Use the official list for your market and treat its dates as rollout windows. China, global, European Economic Area, Indian, Russian and carrier versions can have different firmware and schedules. The current global rollout information is published at Xiaomi HyperOS 3.

Why your phone may not show the update
An absent update does not necessarily mean the phone is permanently unsupported. Common explanations include:
- Staged rollout: Xiaomi releases firmware in waves and can expand or pause distribution.
- Different regional firmware: China, global, EEA, India and carrier branches may follow separate schedules.
- Imported hardware: An imported phone may be configured for another market and receive that market’s updates.
- Carrier approval: Carrier-branded firmware can require additional testing before release.
- Support expiration: Older models eventually leave Xiaomi’s planned update cycle.
- Modified software: Unlocked, rooted or unofficially flashed firmware can interfere with expected over-the-air updates.
- Beta or pilot status: A Mi Pilot or other test build is not the same as a stable public release.
- Rollout pause: Xiaomi may temporarily stop a release because of bugs or compatibility problems.
Xiaomi advises checking that a device was purchased through an official local channel and notes that older models eventually stop receiving system updates: Xiaomi support FAQ.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does every MIUI 14 phone automatically get HyperOS?
No. MIUI 14 is not an automatic eligibility certificate. Xiaomi evaluates each model and regional variant separately, and the HyperOS update may also use a different Android base version from the one currently installed.

Receiving a HyperOS shell does not guarantee every newer feature. AI tools, camera functions, connectivity features and interface changes can depend on hardware, Android version, language, region or software branch. A security patch can arrive without a new HyperOS generation, and a major HyperOS update can arrive without the newest Android version.
How long will Xiaomi support your phone?
Xiaomi does not publish one universal support duration for every Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO model. Its general support FAQ describes smartphone update cycles as around two to three years. Xiaomi’s security policy says security updates are typically maintained for at least two years after a model’s first shipment, with some models receiving three years or longer.
These are broad policy statements, not guarantees for every model, region or carrier edition. Check the exact device’s support information and Xiaomi’s end-of-life listings rather than inferring eligibility from the launch year alone. Security support, Android-version upgrades and HyperOS feature releases are separate decisions.
Relevant official references are the Xiaomi Security Center policy and Xiaomi’s support FAQ.

For most owners, waiting for the official over-the-air update is the safer option because it matches the phone’s regional configuration and normally preserves the expected update path.
Manual firmware installation can introduce data loss, bootloader requirements, incompatibility, or warranty and support complications. Do not flash a package from another region merely to obtain an earlier release. Changing the phone’s region may sometimes affect update timing, but it is not a reliable or risk-free fix.
Quick Recap
How to verify an update claim
- Identify the exact model name, storage variant and regional firmware code.
- Check Xiaomi’s official HyperOS page for your market.
- Distinguish a stable release from a beta, pilot or preview build.
- Separate an announcement date from actual availability on your device.
- Confirm whether a listed date is a rollout window rather than a guaranteed delivery date.
- Use Xiaomi’s update checker and support pages before relying on third-party trackers or rumor lists.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
