Zombie Doom returned as Zombie Doom HD, an enhanced Windows Phone shooter that Gamer Bear promoted with 36 levels, five weapons and higher-resolution visuals. The surviving records do not show whether it was a conventional app update or a separate HD build, and they do not establish a numbered version or precise update date.
What changed in Zombie Doom HD?
Developer Gamer Bear described Zombie Doom HD as an improved version of its Windows Phone game, citing the extra power of newer phones. Its feature list was promotional rather than an independently tested changelog: Gamer Bear advertised 36 levels, five weapons, zombies, mummies, aliens and hostages, along with improved lighting, a high-resolution mode, 3D enemies, improved controls and online play.
That list establishes what the developer said the HD edition offered; it does not document specific fixes, performance gains or changes to individual levels. The present status of the advertised online functionality is also unknown.
What kind of game was it?
Zombie Doom was a Windows Phone first-person shooter built around an alien invasion: aliens turn humans into zombies, and the player fights back. Microsoft included the game in a Windows Phone zombie-games roundup, describing its enemies as alien zombies (Microsoft News archive).

The title and shooter format evoke Doom, but the available records do not identify this as an official entry in that franchise. It is more accurate to describe it as a Doom-like mobile shooter than to suggest a connection to id Software or Bethesda.
Was HD a patch or a separate release?
The distinction is unresolved. Gamer Bear called the game Zombie Doom HD and described it as coming back in an improved form. MobyGames groups Zombie Doom, Zombie Doom FPS and Zombie Doom HD as names associated with the same game (catalog record). Its patch page contains no documented patch history (MobyGames patches).

MobyGames records the Windows Phone release on September 25, 2014, developed and published by Gamer Bear (release record). That date is a release record, not a verified date for a later update. The best-supported description is an HD or enhanced edition; the surviving evidence does not establish whether it replaced the original listing, arrived as an update, or was distributed as a separate build.

TecMundo listed the game as free in 2014, and MobyGames classifies the Windows Phone release as freeware/free-to-play/public-domain. These are historical descriptions of its business model, not evidence that a free official download is available now.

The historical release is documented, but the available records do not establish a working current official download. A discoverable or archived store listing is not the same as a functioning route to install the game today. A 2024 Reddit discussion mentions a Microsoft Apps listing and a Windows 10-running Windows Phone, but that user-generated report does not verify current availability, compatibility or permission to redistribute a copy (discussion).

For anyone who already has a compatible device, practical access may depend on whether the game is installed or can still be retrieved through the original account and store infrastructure. Requirements may vary by edition, and the HD version’s online mode has no established current service status. An unofficial XAP, ROM or other package can carry compatibility, security and legal risks; an online copy alone does not establish that downloading or sharing it is authorized.
