itel announced the A90 globally on May 1, 2025, and launched it in India on May 14. The entry-level 4G phone pairs a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a Unisoc T7100 platform. In India, launch prices were ₹6,499 for 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and ₹6,999 for 4GB RAM with 128GB storage. Specifications such as charging, selfie camera and storage vary by market, so the local version matters.
Launch date, price and availability
itel’s global announcement on May 1, 2025 positioned the A90 at under $65 and said it was intended for availability in more than 30 countries. That was a manufacturer’s launch price claim, not a single worldwide retail price; taxes, availability and local configurations differ. itel’s global announcement
India’s launch followed on May 14, 2025. Launch coverage reported availability through selected retail stores, with these prices for the Indian configurations:

The prices above are the reported 2025 launch prices, not a guarantee of today’s selling price. As of August 2026, itel India’s homepage listed the A90 at ₹6,499, while the company’s product page prominently featured the A90 Limited Edition and a comparison module showed that edition at ₹8,899. These are later website price signals, and do not establish that the Limited Edition is identical to the original A90. Check the local listing and warranty terms before buying. What the 90Hz display offers
The A90 has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD with 720 × 1612-pixel HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate and 480-nit typical brightness according to itel’s product specifications. A 90Hz panel can make scrolling and supported interface animations look smoother than a 60Hz screen. It does not make the display Full HD or OLED, and it cannot make every app or game render at 90 frames per second. Using a higher refresh rate can consume more power than 60Hz, although the actual difference depends on software behavior and how the phone is used. Brightness, network reception, gaming and background activity also affect battery life.
Unisoc T7100 performance and memory
Indian launch coverage identifies the A90’s chipset as the Unisoc T7100, an octa-core 4G platform. A specification listing reports two Cortex-A75 cores running at up to 1.8GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores at up to 1.2GHz, a 12nm process and PowerVR GE8322 graphics. Those specifications point to a phone for everyday tasks such as calls, messaging, browsing, video streaming and light multitasking—not demanding games or heavy workloads. 91mobiles’ A90 specifications

Indian launch configurations were reported with 4GB of physical RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. Other regional materials describe different combinations, including up to 256GB storage and memory expansion marketed as “up to 12GB.” That 12GB figure includes storage-backed virtual or fusion memory; it is not 12GB of physical RAM and should not be treated as equivalent for multitasking. Cameras: a consistent rear figure, a regional selfie difference
The commonly listed rear camera is a 13MP primary camera. Front-camera specifications are not consistent across market materials: itel’s global product page lists 5MP, while Indian launch coverage reports 8MP. Treat either figure as market-specific rather than assuming every A90 has the same selfie camera. Battery and charging depend on the version
The A90 is listed with a 5,000mAh battery and USB Type-C. itel’s global specifications support charging up to 15W, while an India launch report specifies 10W. Because the figures conflict, do not assume a particular A90 retail unit supports 15W: check the local product listing and the phone and adapter specifications on the box. itel claims up to three days of battery life and lists figures of up to 31 hours of talk time, 75 hours of music playback and 18 hours of video playback. These are manufacturer estimates, not independent test results; actual endurance varies with network conditions, brightness, refresh rate, apps and other usage.
Software and advertised features
Launch materials describe the phone as running Android 14 Go Edition-based itel OS 14. Go Edition is intended for more modest hardware. itel promotes a Dynamic Bar for notifications and status information, DTS audio, a side-mounted fingerprint reader and face unlock. Its regional materials also advertise an Aivana or GPT-branded assistant, translation tools and reading or webpage summaries. Names, supported languages and availability may vary by market and software version; the marketing does not establish that every AI feature works offline or is available everywhere. itel A90 features
IP54 protection and the “lag-free” claim
The A90 is advertised with IP54 dust and splash resistance and an included anti-drop case in some product materials. IP54 is not waterproofing: it does not mean the phone can be submerged or safely exposed to high-pressure water. itel also promotes touch operation with wet or oily hands, but that feature does not change the IP rating.

itel’s global page makes a “36-month lag-free” claim and describes it as based on the company’s laboratory certification and software, hardware and optimization measures. It is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee that an individual phone will never slow down; performance depends on apps, storage, usage and software updates. There is no single configuration that describes every A90. The differences reported in official regional materials and launch coverage include:

Who should consider the itel A90?
The A90’s appeal is a low launch price in India, a 90Hz refresh rate, a large battery and basic dust and splash protection—not high-end speed or imaging. It is most suitable for first-time smartphone users and people who mainly call, message, browse, stream and use social apps.
- Consider it if: your budget is tight and you value a smoother-feeling interface, expandable storage, a large battery and an included case.
- Look elsewhere if: you need 5G, a Full HD or OLED screen, demanding gaming performance, strong low-light photography or dependable heavy multitasking.
- Before paying: verify the physical RAM and storage, selfie camera, charging rating, warranty and local service support for the exact version on sale.
The original A90 was described in Indian coverage as the successor to the itel A80. It should not be conflated with the later A90 Limited Edition, whose separate marketing includes military-grade testing claims. itel India’s A90 Limited Edition announcement
