For US owners paying out of pocket, Samsung’s suggested screen prices checked August 16–18, 2026 are $279 for a Galaxy Z Flip4 inner screen, $99 for its outer screen, $444 for a Galaxy Z Fold4 inner screen, and $149 for its outer screen. uBreakiFix by Asurion’s listed non-member prices are higher for those screen repairs: $417.60, $117.60, $597.60 and $177.60 respectively. These are starting price signals, not guaranteed final invoices: diagnosis, parts availability, tax, shipping, location and additional hinge, frame or component damage can change the total.

The Samsung figures below are suggested cracked-screen prices. Samsung identifies foldable-screen service as available through mail-in repair. The uBreakiFix by Asurion figures are listed non-member prices from its Samsung Fold/Flip pricing sheet. All amounts are before any applicable tax unless the provider confirms otherwise.

What “screen repair” means on a foldable
Inner display
This is the large OLED panel that opens with the phone. A listed “inner-screen repair” does not promise a glass-only fix; the provider may replace a display assembly or module.

Outer or cover display
This is the conventional screen on the closed phone. Its repair is priced separately and is substantially cheaper than an inner-display repair.
Factory inner screen protector
Lifting or bubbling without black spots, lines, flicker, dead pixels or touch failure may be a protector-service issue rather than a display replacement. Availability and technician capability vary, so ask the location specifically. Damage beneath the film, especially around the crease, needs an assessment by Samsung or an authorized provider.

Why Samsung and uBreakiFix quotes differ
The numbers are not automatically like-for-like. Samsung publishes suggested prices for cracked-screen service, while uBreakiFix publishes a component-and-repair menu with a standard non-member price structure. Differences can reflect the repair assembly, labor, local pricing, mail-in versus local service, parts availability and what inspection finds after opening the phone. Tax, shipping and diagnostic charges may also apply.
Samsung says service depends on claim approval, parts and technician availability, and location. A participating uBreakiFix store must confirm that it can service your exact model and has the required foldable parts. uBreakiFix advertises a one-year limited repair warranty, subject to its terms and participating location (Fold4 service details).

Hinge, frame and multiple-damage cases
There is no verified current official standalone US hinge price for either model. A phone that will not open flat, grinds or crunches, contains hinge debris, or has crease-area damage may need an inner display, frame or hinge assembly—or a replacement device—rather than a simple adjustment. Do not rely on a screen-only estimate until the provider diagnoses it.
- A damaged frame can make a display repair ineligible or require a different assembly.
- Battery swelling, liquid damage or other failed hardware can change eligibility and cost. Do not fold, charge or press a visibly swollen phone.
- Water resistance should not be assumed after aging, drops, hinge damage or prior repairs.
Samsung Care+ versus paying out of pocket
If the phone was already enrolled and the claim is approved, Samsung advertises accidental-damage protection, genuine Samsung parts, certified technicians and unlimited accidental-damage repairs under the applicable mobile plan. Samsung lists a $29 cracked-screen and back-glass repair fee for eligible Care+ claims. The Theft and Loss version may provide a $0 cracked-screen repair fee for eligible claims; other replacement or claim deductibles can be $99–$199 depending on device and claim.

Those amounts depend on the plan, device, state, enrollment date and claim type. Care+ cannot be treated as retroactive insurance for damage that already happened. Samsung’s FAQ describes enrollment at purchase or within an applicable post-purchase window; check current eligibility before relying on it (Care+ support and Care+ FAQ). Mechanical-breakdown claims may have no service fee when covered, but plan terms control.

Standard warranty
Manufacturing or mechanical failures may qualify if the phone meets Samsung’s conditions. Accidental impact, physical or liquid damage, battery swelling and unauthorized opening generally complicate or exclude standard-warranty service. Start with Samsung’s service flow using your Samsung account and device information (Samsung service).

Samsung direct
Choose Samsung when the issue may involve the hinge, frame, inner display or warranty, or when you want a manufacturer diagnosis and genuine parts. The trade-off is that foldable screen service may be mail-in and the final quote can change after inspection.
uBreakiFix by Asurion
Choose a participating store when local service matters and it confirms parts and eligibility for your exact model. The listed menu price may be higher than Samsung’s suggested screen price, and same-day service is not guaranteed.
Self-repair
Samsung provides parts, tools and guides for selected products but warns about damage, injury and safety risks from unauthorized attempts (Samsung self-repair). Foldable inner-display and hinge work is a high-risk project, not a routine consumer repair.
Repair or replace? Use the complete quote
- Compare the total repair—not just the screen line—with the phone’s current used value, storage, carrier-unlock status and trade-in offers.
- Repair is easier to justify when one component is affected and the hinge, frame and battery are healthy.
- Replacement deserves consideration when inner display and hinge are both damaged, several components fail, parts cannot be guaranteed, or a swollen battery or liquid damage may create further charges.
- There is no universal dollar cutoff because used prices and trade-in values vary by condition, storage and carrier.
Checklist for an exact quote
- Confirm the exact model: Galaxy Z Flip4 or Z Fold4, including the model number if available.
- Photograph the inner and outer screens, crease, hinge, frame and back glass.
- Record whether touch, cameras, fingerprint sensor, charging, speakers and folding action work.
- Back up your data and follow the provider’s account-removal, unlock or reset instructions.
- Ask whether the price includes parts, labor, diagnosis, tax, shipping and any service fee.
- Ask whether the repair uses a complete display module and whether a frame or hinge inspection is included.
- Confirm parts availability, expected turnaround and the written warranty.
