Short answer: The Ulefone Armor 11T remains an unusual and potentially useful rugged phone because it has an integrated FLIR thermal camera. It is only a sensible 2026 purchase at a substantial discount, with a healthy battery, confirmed thermal-app operation and a carrier that accepts the exact model. Its Android 11 software, uncertain long-term support, U.S. carrier restrictions and conflicting official stock signals make it a poor choice as a primary phone for many buyers.
What the Ulefone Armor 11T is
The Armor 11T 5G is a rugged Android smartphone with a built-in FLIR thermal-imaging module. Thermal imaging detects infrared radiation and displays temperature differences; it is not the same as ordinary photography or infrared night vision. The similarly named Armor 11 5G is associated with infrared night vision, while the 11T is the thermal model. The 11T also has a conventional 48MP rear camera.
Ulefone describes the thermal system as a FLIR Lepton sensor with MSX image enhancement, a 5MP auxiliary camera and a stated measurement range of −10°C to 400°C. The exact Lepton generation and thermal resolution are not identified on the current detailed specification page, so claims that it uses a particular Lepton model should not be treated as confirmed. See Ulefone’s product information at the official product page and the detailed specifications.
Key specifications
| Category | Ulefone’s stated specification |

| Display | 6.1-inch IPS LCD, 1560 × 720 |
| Cameras | 48MP main, 2MP macro, 2MP depth, 16MP front; up to 4K/30fps rear video |
| Battery and charging | 5,200mAh; 18W wired; 10W Qi wireless |
| Size and weight | 163.8 × 81.6 × 14.2mm; 293g, excluding accessories |
| Durability | IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810G claims |
| Connectivity | 4G and Sub-6GHz 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, dual nano-SIM |
| Thermal system | FLIR Lepton with MSX; stated range −10°C to 400°C; 5MP auxiliary thermal camera |
These are manufacturer specifications. Ulefone’s “48MP” sensor can produce 12MP output in some software because of Quad Bayer processing. The claimed standby and talk figures—up to 537 hours and 27 hours—are laboratory or manufacturer estimates, not independent endurance results.

What the thermal camera can and cannot do
Useful field jobs
- Find unusually hot electrical connections, breakers and components.
- Compare radiator, pipe, HVAC and appliance heat patterns.
- Spot obvious insulation gaps or drafts.
- Locate warm people or animals in darkness.
- Save a thermal image alongside a normal photograph for a repair record.
MSX overlays visual detail on the thermal image, making the heat source easier to identify. For troubleshooting, relative differences are often more useful than an exact number.
Why it is not professional thermography
The −10°C to 400°C figure is Ulefone’s stated range, not proof of calibrated professional accuracy. Reflective metal, glass, steam, distance, emissivity assumptions and targets smaller than the measurement area can produce misleading readings. Confirm safety-critical or regulated measurements with a calibrated instrument, and do not use the phone as a substitute for electrical-safety procedures, moisture testing, medical diagnosis or a certified energy audit.
Performance and everyday use
The Dimensity 800 was a capable mid-range 5G platform when the phone launched around 2021, but this is no longer a modern Android performance device. Android 11 is the officially documented version, and current Ulefone material does not provide a clear upgrade or security-support timetable. Community reports discuss limited update histories, but they are user testimony rather than a formal support statement.

The 6.1-inch HD+ (1560 × 720) LCD is compact for a rugged phone and adequate for thermal overlays, though it is not a high-resolution or high-refresh-rate display. At 293g and 14.2mm thick, the Armor 11T is substantially heavier and thicker than a conventional phone. NFC, dual-SIM support, wireless charging and the conventional camera make it practical as a work device, but the 48MP camera should not be confused with current flagship photography.
Ruggedness: capable, not indestructible
Ulefone lists IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810G protection, and describes controlled IP68 testing to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. Those ratings do not guarantee survival in every real-world accident. Cracked panels, damaged port covers and aging seals reduce protection; salt water, solvents, oils, thermal shock and high-pressure water can also cause damage.
Ulefone warns that resistance decreases with wear, accessories and the charger are not water-resistant, the phone must not be charged while wet, and liquid damage is excluded from warranty coverage. Dry the USB-C port completely before charging and inspect seals on an older or used unit.

Battery and charging risks in 2026
The 5,200mAh battery supports 18W wired and 10W Qi wireless charging. Because the model is several years old, battery condition matters more than the original capacity. Old stock and used phones may have reduced runtime. Before accepting a used unit, check for a lifting screen, case bulge, unusual heat, rapid drain or unstable charging. A swollen battery is a safety hazard: stop using and charging the phone, keep it away from combustible materials, and arrange proper service or disposal. Anecdotal swelling reports exist, but they do not establish a model-wide failure rate.
U.S. carrier compatibility is a purchase gate
Ulefone’s product page lists T-Mobile as the supported U.S. 5G carrier and explicitly warns that AT&T, Cricket Wireless, Verizon, Sprint, MetroPCS, Straight Talk, Boost and others are not compatible. Listed frequency bands cannot override carrier certification or provisioning.
- Ask the carrier or MVNO to check the exact IMEI before buying.
- Confirm that calls will use VoLTE on that network.
- Verify the imported regional model and firmware.
- Buy only with a return policy in case activation or data service fails.
For Verizon, AT&T or affiliated MVNO customers, treat the Armor 11T as a poor fit unless both the carrier and seller explicitly confirm activation.

MyFLIR and software checks
Ulefone says the phone includes the MyFLIR application and that FLIR provides app support and maintenance. Thermal operation nevertheless depends on the phone’s Android software, permissions and app compatibility. Test the factory thermal application immediately after purchase; do not assume every current MyFLIR feature works on Android 11.
If the thermal view is blank or unavailable, restart the phone, check camera permissions, update or reinstall the supported app, and test the factory application. Avoid unknown APKs as a default fix. A persistent failure is grounds for a return or warranty claim.

Official Ulefone pages showed conflicting signals on August 18, 2026: the product page returned a $299.99 sale price against $599.99, while the thermal-phone collection showed $599.99 and “Sold out.” Neither figure should be treated as a guaranteed checkout price. Confirm stock, region, EU-plug charger type, warranty and returns before paying.

Buy it when
- You specifically need an integrated thermal camera for occasional troubleshooting.
- The price is substantially below $599.99.
- Your carrier confirms IMEI and VoLTE support.
- The thermal app works and the battery is healthy.
- Android 11 and uncertain future support are acceptable.
Avoid it when
- You use an excluded U.S. carrier or cannot obtain activation confirmation.
- You need current security updates or a primary business phone for years.
- You need high-resolution, calibrated thermography.
- The seller offers no return protection, or the phone shows swelling or display separation.
Newer Ulefone thermal options
Ulefone’s current collection lists newer models alongside the 11T:
| Model | Collection price signal | Positioning |
|---|---|---|
| Armor 25T Pro 5G | $449.99 | Newer 5G thermal model |
| Armor 27T | $449.99 | Newer thermal rugged phone; network configuration requires checking |
| Armor 27T Pro | $549.99 | Higher-positioned newer model |
| Armor 27T Pro+ 5G | $579.99 | Newer 5G model with thermal imaging and night vision |
| Armor 11T 5G | $599.99, shown sold out | Older Android 11 platform |
If the 11T is close to $600, compare these newer phones instead. If your real need is inspection rather than phone ownership, a dedicated thermal camera paired with a supported phone may provide a longer-lived communications device and potentially higher resolution, at the cost of carrying another device and managing its app or connector.
Final verdict
The Armor 11T is still defensible as a discounted secondary work phone or thermal troubleshooting tool. Its FLIR integration, rugged housing and wireless charging remain distinctive. It is not a safe blind purchase: carrier approval, MyFLIR operation, battery condition, Android 11 limitations and uncertain support all need verification. At or near the conflicting $599.99 official price, a newer Ulefone thermal model is the more rational comparison; for unsupported U.S. carriers or long-term primary-phone use, choose another platform.
