The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G is a dependable one-day phone: most people should get through a normal day, and moderate users may stretch it into the next morning. Independent tests show strong endurance for browsing and local video, but results change sharply with workload. Charging is the bigger compromise: the phone supports up to 25W wired charging, takes about 90 minutes to fill in one published test, and has no wireless charging.
What the battery tests show
The A35 has a 5,000mAh typical-capacity battery; Samsung lists its rated minimum capacity as 4,905mAh. Capacity alone does not predict runtime, so the workload matters more than a single headline number.

These results should not be averaged into one “battery life” figure. They use different connections, brightness levels, refresh behavior and workloads; local video also avoids the network activity involved in streaming. Cellular signal, background apps, software, temperature and regional configuration can further shift results.
How long should it last in everyday use?
A full day is a reasonable expectation for most owners, but two days is a light-use possibility, not a safe promise. These profiles are evidence-based expectations rather than a new hands-on test:

Reviewer experiences illustrate the spread, not a guarantee: Tech Advisor reported often finishing ordinary days with about 50% remaining and heavier days nearer 20%, while Android Authority described roughly a day and a half between charges. Tech Advisor and Android Authority are describing their own usage, not a standardized result for every owner.
Charging: 25W wired, but no wireless option
The A35 supports up to 25W wired Super Fast Charging. In PhoneArena’s test with an appropriate charger, it reached 25% after 15 minutes, 49% after 30 minutes and full charge in 1 hour 27 minutes. Tech Advisor likewise described a full charge as taking about an hour and a half. Results vary with charger, temperature, phone use and starting battery level.

For the US package, Samsung says a USB-C-to-USB-C cable is included but the wall adapter is sold separately. Box contents can differ by market. A charger rated above 25W does not make the A35 charge faster than its supported rate; Samsung recommends compatible charging equipment. Samsung’s US package guidance and charger guidance provide details. The phone does not support wireless charging, according to Samsung’s charging support information.
What changes battery life most?
Brightness and screen use
The 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display supports refresh rates up to 120Hz. High brightness and long screen-on sessions are more meaningful drains than the battery capacity figure suggests. Notebookcheck’s maximum-brightness load result of 4h 22m shows how different a sustained high-demand scenario can be from ordinary use.

120Hz refresh rate
There is no basis for saying that locking the A35 to 60Hz always improves endurance. In Tom’s Guide’s cellular web test, adaptive refresh rate ran for 11h 09m, while a fixed 60Hz setting lasted 11 minutes less. That small, test-specific difference is not proof that 120Hz is more efficient in every situation.
5G signal and demanding tasks
5G availability and modem behavior vary by carrier and market. Weak reception can increase power demand, while navigation, hotspot operation, camera recording and gaming keep radios, screen or processor busy. A result obtained on Wi-Fi should not be treated as a prediction for weak-signal cellular use.

How it compares with the A34 and A55
PhoneArena’s same-source tests show why there is no universal winner: the A35 trails the A34 in browsing and streaming but leads it in gaming; the A55 leads the A35 in browsing, while streaming and gaming results are close.

Ways to improve endurance
These adjustments can reduce avoidable drain, but none guarantees a fixed number of extra hours:
Quick Recap
- Use adaptive brightness instead of leaving the display at maximum.
- When 5G coverage is weak and speed is less important, try LTE and compare your own drain.
- Check Settings → Battery for apps using unusually high power; labels may vary by Android and One UI version.
- Restrict background activity for apps that do not need to stay active, and use power-saving mode when charge is low or access to an outlet is limited.
- Reduce screen timeout or always-on display behavior if those features are enabled.
- Keep adaptive refresh enabled unless you specifically prefer a fixed setting; Tom’s Guide’s small result difference does not establish a universal battery benefit from 60Hz.
If your A35 battery is draining unusually fast
- Restart the phone and install pending software updates.
- Review the Battery screen for an app with unexpected consumption; temporarily disable a recently installed or updated app if it stands out.
- Note whether the drain happens mainly on 5G, in weak signal, at high brightness, or during navigation, gaming or hotspot use.
- Check for heat during charging or demanding tasks. For a useful overnight comparison, leave mobile data, Bluetooth and location unchanged for one night, then repeat in a strong Wi-Fi environment.
- Run Samsung Members diagnostics if available. Menu labels and features can differ by software version and region; Samsung’s Canadian A35 support page provides an Android 15 manual. Samsung Canada A35 support.
- If the phone becomes unusually hot, swells, smells abnormal, or drains rapidly while idle, stop using it and contact Samsung or the retailer. For charging issues, follow Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance.
