Verdict: The Realme Note 50 remains adequate for calls, messaging, streaming, navigation and light photography, but only at a substantial clearance discount. Its 90Hz display, 5,000mAh battery, microSD slot and headphone jack are useful; 10W charging, modest cameras, entry-level performance, Android 13 at launch and uncertain long-term updates make newer models the better buy when prices are close.
Who should buy the Realme Note 50?
Buy it only when a new, locally warranted unit is meaningfully cheaper than a newer Realme Note or C-series phone. The 4GB/128GB version is the sensible configuration for basic use. It suits calls, messaging, email, YouTube, music, maps, social media and casual games.
Skip it if you need 5G, fast charging, demanding-game performance, strong night photography or a long remaining software-support period. Imported, refurbished and old-stock units require extra checks for battery health, LTE bands, warranty and Google Play compatibility.
Price, availability and regional caveats
The Note 50 launched in January 2024 and was sold in selected markets, particularly Southeast Asia and other emerging markets. Realme’s current Philippines catalogue emphasizes newer Note models rather than the Note 50: realme.com/ph. A Bangladesh specification listing gives approximate figures of ৳10,999 for 4GB/64GB and ৳12,499 for 4GB/128GB, but these are not a universal or necessarily current 2026 retail price: GSM Arena Bangladesh.

Primary specifications: Realme Philippines and Realme Taiwan specifications. Configuration differences are also documented by Notebookcheck.
Design and durability
The 7.99mm, approximately 186g body is slim and light for a phone with a 6.74-inch screen. It uses a plastic frame and rear panel, with a glittering or textured finish depending on color; launch colors included Midnight Black and Sky Blue. A side-mounted fingerprint reader, USB-C port, headphone jack and dedicated three-card tray (two SIMs plus microSD) make the hardware practical.
IP54 means protection from limited dust ingress and splashing water under specified test conditions. It does not permit submersion, swimming, shower use or deliberate heavy-rain exposure. Realme warns against charging while the phone is wet and excludes liquid damage from warranty coverage: Realme’s product page.

The 6.74-inch 720p IPS LCD is large and easy to use for video, reading and maps. Its 90Hz refresh rate makes menus and scrolling look smoother than a 60Hz panel, while the lower resolution reduces the workload on the T612 and battery. Realme also lists 180Hz touch sampling.

- Perfect Design: Phone case glitter shell is 2 in 1 design, made of soft silicone cover, Wear resistant, flexible, and non scratch TPU case, self contained glitter paper, phone cover ensure maximum protection from drops, bumps and scratches
- Protection: The case silicone is higher than the screen and camera, which provide all round protection for your phone, this back cover, screen and 4 corners
- Standing Function: The ring stand for Realme Note 50 cases silicone can be Full 360°Rotation and Folding Rotated 120°, It can help your phone stand at the desk
- Multi color optional: This case glitter has 5 colors for you to choose, Please check to confirm ordering the correct model and color
- Easy to Clean: The material make this phone cases easy to clean, The wet paper easily can help you to clean the ink and dirty at the phone cover glitter
The compromises are visible: text and fine icons are less crisp than on a 1080p phone, and IPS blacks lack OLED contrast. The quoted 560-nit peak brightness should be considered adequate rather than exceptional in direct sun. Refresh rate, touch-sampling rate and game frame rate are different: a 90Hz panel can respond to touch quickly, but the processor may still render demanding games at far below 90 frames per second.
Performance and gaming
The Unisoc T612 combines two Cortex-A75 performance cores with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, generally around 1.8GHz. Third-party databases disagree on the exact Mali GPU designation, listing Mali-G57 MP1 or Mali-G52 MP1, so the GPU label should be treated as variant-sensitive. The hardware is designed for basic workloads, not sustained gaming.
Calls, messaging, email, music, ordinary browsing and streaming are acceptable. Social apps can pause when switching between heavier programs, especially on 3GB RAM. Casual games usually work at low or medium settings; graphically demanding titles may require low settings and still show stutter, heat and long loading times.
UL’s submitted benchmark database records 992 in 3DMark Sling Shot Extreme, 1,494 in Sling Shot, 7,819 in PCMark Work 3.0 and 8 hours 49 minutes in its battery test. These are third-party submissions under recorded conditions, not a fresh controlled review result: UL Benchmarks.
Realme’s “48-month fluency” statement is a manufacturer laboratory claim. Realme says it does not guarantee the absence of lag and that software, network, environment and usage affect results; it should not be read as a promise of four lag-free years.

Software and update outlook
The phone launched with Android 13 and realme UI. Regional listings variously describe realme UI T Edition or Android 13 Go Edition, so the installed edition must be checked on the specific handset. Before purchase, open Settings → About device and check the Android version and security-patch date, then verify the model’s official update information for your region.
Do not assume Android 14, Android 15 or a particular security-support end date without confirmation from Realme for that exact variant. A 2024 entry-level phone still on Android 13 in 2026 has a shorter support horizon than a newly released alternative.
Cameras: usable in daylight, limited elsewhere
The official hardware is a 13MP AI rear camera and 5MP selfie camera, with rear video up to 1080p at 30fps. Depending on region and firmware, software modes include night, portrait, HDR, panorama and AI scene recognition. Realme’s official pages should take precedence over listings that incorrectly describe a 50MP sensor: official product page and regional specifications.
In practical terms, expect acceptable daylight snapshots for documents, landscapes and casual sharing when light is good. Small sensors and limited processing leave less margin for backlit skies, moving subjects and indoor scenes; night images are likely to show noise and reduced detail. Portrait cutouts depend on software and can be inconsistent around hair and edges. The 5MP front camera is best treated as a video-call and casual-social camera rather than a high-detail selfie system. The phone is not a sensible choice for buyers prioritizing reliable low-light photography or stabilized video.
Battery life and 10W charging
The 5,000mAh typical battery (4,890mAh rated) and 720p display should provide strong endurance for light users. Realme’s laboratory figures claim up to 106 hours of music, 10.6 hours of video recording, 607 hours of standby, 32 hours of calls, 24 hours of social-media use and 13 hours of YouTube playback. These are manufacturer test figures, not guaranteed mixed-use results; methods and conditions affect them: Realme specifications.

Charging is the major weakness. 10W is slow by 2026 standards, so a full recharge is inconvenient for anyone used to 18W, 25W, 33W or faster phones. If buying old stock, check the manufacturing date, seal, included charger, battery behavior and warranty; a battery that spent years in storage may have lost capacity.

Memory and storage choices
Common variants are 3GB/64GB, 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB, although availability differs by market. Prefer 4GB/128GB when the price gap is small. Avoid 3GB RAM for heavy multitasking or several years of use.
Realme’s “up to 8GB RAM” wording on the 4GB model means 4GB physical memory plus up to 4GB of Dynamic RAM Expansion borrowed from internal storage. It is not equivalent to 8GB of physical RAM. A microSD card is useful for photos, videos, music and documents, but it does not make app launches as fast as UFS storage and not every app can be moved fully to the card.
Connectivity and import checks
The Note 50 is a 4G-only dual-SIM phone with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C and a 3.5mm jack. LTE bands, firmware, charger and warranty can differ by region even when the model name is identical. Check the exact model number against your carrier’s bands, VoLTE and Wi-Fi-calling requirements. US buyers should obtain carrier confirmation rather than assume compatibility with AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon or an MVNO.

Realme Note 60
Realme’s Note 60 adds a newer product platform, IP64 protection, tougher construction, a 32MP camera, 90Hz display, up to 128GB storage and up to 12GB dynamic RAM: official Note 60 page. It remains entry-level, but is the more rational purchase when the price difference is modest because it offers newer durability, imaging and product life.

Realme C61
The C61 offers a 50MP camera, up to 256GB storage, IP54 protection, a 90Hz display and newer durability and battery-health positioning: official C61 page. Exact chipset, memory, price and update terms vary by market, so compare local configurations rather than assuming universal superiority.
Other budget alternatives
Redmi, Poco, Motorola Moto G, Samsung Galaxy A, Tecno Spark and Infinix Hot models can be better buys depending on local price. Compare the exact RAM/storage version, charging speed, update policy, camera, warranty and LTE compatibility on the same day.
Buying checklist
- Confirm country, model number and LTE bands.
- Choose 4GB/128GB if affordable; treat “8GB RAM” as dynamic expansion, not physical memory.
- Check Android version, security-patch date and Google Play certification.
- Verify the charger, battery condition, manufacturing date and return policy.
- Confirm local warranty and replacement-part availability.
- Do not pay near the price of a Note 60, C61 or another newer phone.
- Use a case, screen protector and reputable microSD card if you buy it.
Final verdict
The Realme Note 50 is a functional ultra-budget phone, not a future-proof bargain. Its large 90Hz screen, dependable capacity, expandable storage, light body and headphone jack are legitimate advantages for basic users. The 10W charging, 13MP camera, limited gaming performance, slower storage, 4G-only connectivity and uncertain update runway matter more in 2026.
Strong buy: only at deep-discount pricing with a valid local warranty. Conditional buy: a 4GB/128GB unit that is considerably cheaper than newer Realme models. Skip: any unit priced close to the Note 60, C61 or another current budget phone.
