These were historical deals from April 1, 2024—not current offers. The roundup promoted a $74.99 AirTag four-pack (about $18.75 per tag before tax), AirPods Pro 2 with a USB-C case for $199, eclipse glasses ahead of the April 8, 2024 eclipse, and Keurig brewers starting at $69.99. Prices, stock and terms may have changed; check the exact listing before buying.
What the April 1, 2024 roundup covered
BGR framed the article as “Monday’s top deals,” spanning Apple accessories, eclipse glasses, coffee makers, robot vacuums, kitchen appliances, televisions, gaming hardware and smart-home products. Its prices were time-limited retail promotions, not standing prices. Inventory, seller, color, shipping, membership requirements and coupon eligibility can vary—even between retailers advertising the same product. The original roundup is available in this archived article mirror; the BGR archive page is also available.
What the headline deals actually meant
AirTags: $74.99 for four, not a $19 single-tag price
The advertised deal was a four-pack of the previous-generation Apple AirTag at $74.99, or about $18.75 per tag before tax. The roundup named Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy, but that does not establish that every retailer had identical stock, seller terms or fulfillment. Treat “$19 AirTags” as shorthand for that dated multipack offer, not a current standard price.
Apple has since introduced AirTag 2. Apple’s 2026 announcement lists it at $29 for one or $99 for four at regular price. That is a different generation, so comparing a current AirTag 2 listing with the 2024 offer requires checking the model and seller. See Apple’s AirTag 2 announcement and technical and compatibility details.

- FIND YOUR ITEMS ON FIND MY — AirTag (2nd generation) helps you keep track of what matters. Attach one to an item you want to keep track of using the Find My app.*
- EXPANDED PRECISION FINDING ON IPHONE AND APPLE WATCH — Get step-by-step directions to your lost item on iPhone and, now, Apple Watch.*
- ENHANCED SPEAKER — With a 50% louder speaker and a new, distinctive chime, it’s easier than ever to hear and find AirTag.*
- PING FROM FAR AND WIDE — Upgraded Ultra Wideband and Bluetooth chips allow you to find your items from even farther away than ever before.*
- SHARE ITEM LOCATION — Share AirTag location access temporarily and securely with trusted contacts, third parties, or over 50 airline partners if you lose something important.
AirTag 2 uses Bluetooth, an upgraded Ultra Wideband chip, NFC Lost Mode, a built-in speaker and a replaceable CR2032 battery. It requires an Apple Account and an iPhone running iOS 26 or later; expanded Precision Finding support depends on the iPhone or Apple Watch model. AirTags use Apple’s Find My network, not independent cellular connectivity or continuous GPS tracking. They are most useful in an Apple-device household and are a poor fit for Android-only users or anyone who needs live tracking. Apple also provides unwanted-tracking alerts; a tracker should not be used to monitor a person without their knowledge.
AirPods Pro 2: a historical $199 price for the USB-C version
The roundup’s $199 offer was for AirPods Pro 2 with a USB-C MagSafe Charging Case, described at the time as $50 off a $249 price. Apple’s U.S. store lists AirPods Pro 2 at $249, so the $199 figure should be read as a historical sale price, not a current Apple offer: Apple’s U.S. purchase page.
The USB-C model includes Apple’s H2 chip, Active Noise Cancellation, Adaptive Audio, Transparency mode and Personalized Spatial Audio. Apple estimates up to six hours of listening on one charge and up to 30 hours with the case under its stated test conditions; actual battery life varies. Apple specifies IP54 dust, sweat and water resistance for the earbuds and case under controlled laboratory testing. Full feature support depends on compatible devices, software, firmware and region. Hearing Test, Hearing Aid and Hearing Protection features have additional eligibility and regulatory conditions and are not a substitute for professional medical care. Details are in Apple’s technical specifications.

A $199 listing may be worth considering only after confirming it is the USB-C model, new and authentic, and covered by a trustworthy seller’s return policy and warranty. Unclear marketplace sellers make it difficult to verify condition and authenticity. Apple-device users get the fullest integration; functionality is more limited on non-Apple devices.
Eclipse glasses: tied to an event that has passed
The glasses were promoted ahead of the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. That event is over, so the original urgency and purchase rationale no longer apply. For a future eclipse, follow the National Park Service guidance: viewers should comply with ISO 12312-2:2015, be undamaged and be used as instructed. Ordinary sunglasses are not a safe substitute. Do not use scratched, torn or punctured viewers, and do not assume a generic product is safe just because its listing says “eclipse glasses.” Read the National Park Service safety guidance. Leftover 2024 stock should not be trusted without checking its authenticity, labeling and condition.
Keurig brewers: a starting price without model details
The roundup said Keurig coffee makers started at $69.99, but the available article excerpt does not establish every model, seller, configuration, warranty or current availability. That is a historical starting price, not a verified price today. A basic single-serve brewer may differ substantially from a multi-cup system in reservoir size, controls and brewing options.

Before buying, check whether the listing is new, refurbished or bundled; whether a coupon or membership is required; what warranty applies; and whether the machine works with the K-Cup pods or reusable filter you intend to use. Single-serve convenience can suit households with varied tastes, but pod costs accumulate, and a low machine price may not be economical for heavy coffee drinkers. Keurig’s official site can help identify products; it does not verify the old promotion.

How to judge a similar deal now
Use the listing—not an old headline—as the source of truth. Check these details before paying:
- Exact model and generation: Compare model numbers, not just product-family names. Confirm details such as AirTag generation or an AirPods charging-case connector.
- Condition and seller: Distinguish new from renewed or refurbished, and identify who actually sells and ships the item.
- Total cost: Include shipping, tax, required membership, coupon eligibility and any recurring subscription or consumable cost.
- Returns and warranty: Read the applicable policy for that seller and condition; marketplace and renewed listings may differ from manufacturer-direct products.
- Price context: A discount against a stated list price does not by itself prove a good value. Compare the exact model’s current offers and recent price history where reliable records exist.
- Compatibility and safety: Check operating-system requirements for electronics, and verified safety labeling and intact materials for solar viewers.
Which products might still make sense?
AirTag 2 for Apple households
Consider AirTag 2 if you use an eligible iPhone and want to locate belongings through Find My. Apple’s announcement lists $29 for one and $99 for four; confirm the current listing and generation on the Apple buying page. It is not a replacement for a cellular GPS tracker. Android-focused buyers can compare products designed for broader platform support, such as Tile, while checking compatibility for the specific model.
AirPods Pro 2 when their features fit
Apple’s $249 store price is a regular-price signal, not a sale claim. A lower retailer offer should be checked for model, seller, condition, warranty and return terms. They make the most sense for people who value noise cancellation and Apple integration; users seeking an open-fit design can also compare AirPods 4 with ANC, while premium ANC shoppers may consider Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds.

Keurig based on convenience and ongoing cost
Choose a Keurig if single-serve convenience and pod variety matter more than minimizing cost per cup. Compare pod and reusable-filter compatibility, water capacity and warranty before focusing on the machine price. For capsule espresso or larger-batch brewing, alternatives include Nespresso and Ninja; check each current model’s features and consumable costs.
Why this page should not be mistaken for a live sale
The original deal mix reflects a specific day, retailer inventory and the run-up to a particular eclipse. Neither its historical prices nor its product availability establish what a retailer offers now. For any current shopping decision, confirm the timestamp, exact listing and terms directly. If retailer links are used, they should be clearly identified when they generate a commission; affiliate links alone do not verify price or stock.
