These prices belong to separate 2024 holiday promotions, not one confirmed offer that is live today. The $719 black Apple Watch Ultra 2 and $38 Sony WH-CH520 headphones were documented historical deals; the headline’s claim of 15% off PS5 consoles is not sufficiently verified to treat as fact. As of September 28, 2026, none of the cited sources establishes that those exact prices are currently available.
What the three headline prices actually mean
| Product | Claim and documented details | Retailer and date | Status | Main caveat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Watch Ultra 2 | $719, reported as $80 below the then-$799 price | Best Buy; reported November 28, 2024, and again December 19, 2024 | Historical; expired unless a current listing independently confirms it | Price depended on the qualifying black case and band configuration; it did not necessarily apply to every combination. November deal coverage and December doorbuster coverage. |
| Sony WH-CH520 | $38, compared with typical reported prices around $60–$70, varying by source and date | Amazon deal reported in 2024 | Historical; a later $38 deal was also reported in June 2026, but that does not establish current availability | On-ear Bluetooth headphones without active noise cancellation. Deal and feature coverage; June 2026 deal report. |
| PlayStation 5 consoles | “15% off” is not verified for a specific console, retailer, or discount mechanism | No original retailer or promotion date established | Unverified; do not treat as a live or universal discount | Later 2025 Black Friday coverage described $100 reductions on selected consoles, which does not confirm a 15% offer. Later promotion coverage. |
A search result or refreshed deal page can preserve an old price after a promotion ends. Before buying, confirm the live product page, seller, exact model or configuration, final checkout price, shipping, and return terms. The current Target deals page and PlayStation Direct U.S. storefront are places to check for present console offers, but their existence does not verify the old headline claim.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 for $719: a real, configuration-specific 2024 deal
Best Buy’s holiday coverage documented a black Apple Watch Ultra 2 at $719, $80 below the cited $799 price at the time. The offer appeared in late November 2024 and was reported again in December as a returning doorbuster. “Black” refers to the black titanium version; the deal coverage cautioned that the qualifying band mattered, so changing the band or selecting another color could change the price.
The Ultra 2 is a GPS + Cellular model family with a titanium case; Best Buy’s historical deal evidence does not establish a single exact band configuration that should be assumed for every listing. Check the product title and configuration selector rather than relying on a search snippet. The sources do not establish whether every unit under the historical offer was new, nor do they set out membership or early-access requirements, warranty coverage, or return terms for an individual purchase. Confirm those details on the retailer’s live listing. Apple’s watch overview and buying page can help compare the available watch family, but do not validate the old Best Buy price.

Who should consider an Ultra
- iPhone owners who want a rugged titanium smartwatch, a larger and brighter display, cellular capability, or outdoor and fitness features.
- People who benefit from longer battery life than a standard Apple Watch provides, or who need the Ultra line’s diving- and depth-related hardware.
- Buyers who have compared the Ultra 2 with newer Ultra models at current prices. A 2024 price is not automatically good value against a newer generation in 2026.
Who should look elsewhere
- Android phone owners: Apple Watch requires an iPhone for setup and use.
- Shoppers seeking basic notifications and activity tracking without paying for a large premium watch.
- Anyone for whom the watch is attractive only because an old deal headline calls it a record low. “All-time low” claims can differ by band, color, retailer, and coupon; the documented $719 figure alone does not establish a universal price-history record.
PS5 at 15% off: too vague to verify
The available evidence does not identify the console edition, retailer, dates, or terms behind the 15% figure. It could refer to a direct markdown, a selected model, a bundle calculation, gift-card value, trade-in credit, or another conditional promotion; none of those explanations is established for this headline. It should not be read as 15% off every PS5.
Console generation and edition matter. A PS5 Slim Digital Edition does not accept physical game discs; the Slim with disc drive offers that flexibility. A PS5 Pro is a different, higher-priced proposition. Without the original listing, it is not possible to say whether the purported discount applied to a Slim, Pro, bundle, or another configuration.

- Always‑On Retina LTPO OLED display
Later Black Friday coverage described $100 off selected PS5 consoles in 2025. That is a separate promotion, not corroboration of this headline’s 15% claim. Check the official PS5 overview and the U.S. PlayStation Direct store for current model and price information; compare retailer listings at checkout before treating a discount as real.
How to judge a console promotion
- Identify the exact edition, bundle contents, and whether a disc drive is included.
- Separate the checkout price from gift-card rebates, trade-in credit, or membership-only savings.
- Compare against the model’s recent selling price, not just an older or higher reference MSRP.
- Check stock, delivery region, included controller and cables, and any game voucher’s terms.
- Favor a direct discount or a useful current game or accessory bundle over an inflated bundle-value calculation. If you already own a PS5, do not upgrade solely for a modest discount; assess a Pro model against your display, frame-rate preferences, and games that support its enhancements.
Sony WH-CH520 for $38: inexpensive, long-lasting, and not noise-canceling
The exact model behind the headphone claim is Sony WH-CH520, a lightweight, on-ear Bluetooth headset with a built-in microphone. Deal reports documented a $38 Amazon price in 2024, against typical prices reported around $60–$70 depending on source and date. A separate June 2026 report also described a $38 deal, but it does not prove that price is available now. Amazon pricing can vary by color, seller, and fulfillment method.

Sony advertises up to 50 hours of battery life; actual runtime varies with use and settings. The WH-CH520 charges over USB-C, supports multipoint Bluetooth connection, and works with Sony’s Headphones Connect app for EQ adjustments. The key limitation is that it has no active noise cancellation (ANC). It is on-ear, not a fully over-ear model, and should not be mistaken for Sony’s premium WH-1000XM noise-canceling line.
See Sony’s WH-CH520 product page for manufacturer specifications, and its headphones category for other models. The $38 deal’s listing is also identified in this deal report.

Where the WH-CH520 makes sense
- Budget listening, casual calls, or a lower-cost pair for a child or teen.
- Long stretches between charges and the ability to pair with two devices.
- Listeners who prefer a light on-ear fit and do not need noise cancellation or strong isolation.
When to skip it
- Air travel or noisy commutes where ANC or substantial isolation matters.
- Listeners seeking premium bass, audiophile-level sound, or a fully over-ear design.
- Anyone who needs water resistance; it is not established in the cited product information as a water-resistant model.
Buy now or wait?
Apple Watch Ultra 2
Treat $719 as a historically strong 2024 Best Buy price, not a current quote. Compare the current Ultra 2 and newer-generation prices, confirm the black titanium case and band, and check condition, seller, warranty, and return window before deciding.
PS5
Wait until a retailer identifies the exact console and shows the discount directly in the current checkout price. A generic 15% claim is not enough to make a buying decision, especially if savings depend on trade-in, gift-card value, or an unwanted bundle.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsSony WH-CH520
If $38 appears again from a seller with acceptable delivery and return terms, it is a reasonable budget buy for everyday listening—provided you do not expect ANC. Sony’s claimed battery figure is “up to” 50 hours, not a guarantee of runtime for every listening pattern.
Quick Recap
Checks to make before paying
- Open the retailer’s active product page rather than relying on an editorial widget, cached snippet, or old deal article.
- Match the full model and configuration: watch color and band; PS5 edition and bundle; headphone WH-CH520 model and color.
- Check who sells and ships the item, and whether it is new, open-box, refurbished, or renewed.
- Compare the effective checkout cost, including tax, shipping, coupons, required membership, trade-in conditions, and delayed gift-card rebates.
- Read the retailer’s return deadline and any restocking fees. For Apple or Sony products sold by a third party, verify warranty eligibility and seller status; for consoles, confirm the included controller, cables, stand, and any voucher.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
