It was a promotional streaming benefit—not ad-free Hulu, Hulu + Live TV, or a permanent guarantee that applies to every T-Mobile plan. The offer originally covered 12 months, after which Hulu could renew as a paid subscription.
What T-Mobile announced
Hulu became the fourth major entertainment benefit T-Mobile associated with Go5G Next. The announcement positioned the plan alongside Netflix on us, Apple TV+ on us and MLB.TV or other seasonal sports benefits, each subject to its own terms. T-Mobile said the combined package represented approximately $400 per year in streaming value; that figure covers several services and is not Hulu’s individual cash value.

T-Mobile’s later streaming-benefits materials still reference Hulu and other entertainment perks, but they do not establish a complete August 2026 rate-card comparison. Treat the 2024 launch rules and prices as historical, and verify your account’s current benefits in T-Life or My T-Mobile.

The clearest launch rule covered customers with a qualifying Go5G Next line in good standing. Eligibility required redemption rather than automatic enrollment.

Possible legacy and multi-line eligibility
Separate promotional rules were reported for certain customers with two or more Go5G Plus or Magenta Max lines, particularly where an existing Netflix benefit was involved. This was not a universal entitlement. Do not infer eligibility from a plan name alone; check the offer shown on your T-Mobile account and the current terms.
The cited terms apply to the United States and T-Mobile US context. They should not be generalized to T-Mobile Puerto Rico or operations in other countries.
What did Go5G Next cost?
T-Mobile’s January 2024 rate card listed Go5G Next Individual at $100 per month with the listed AutoPay discount. That was a launch-period figure, not a confirmed August 2026 price. Taxes, fees, line count, AutoPay eligibility, device financing and other discounts affect the actual bill. See the historical rate card at T-Mobile’s January 2024 rate card.

How much was Hulu really worth?
The launch terms cited $7.99 per month as the post-promotion renewal amount or then-current regular price. At that historical rate, 12 months represented a nominal value of $95.88. It becomes real savings only if you would otherwise pay for Hulu.
- If you already receive Hulu through a Disney bundle, the standalone promotion may add little or no value.
- If you would never subscribe to Hulu, value the benefit at zero.
- If you require ad-free viewing or live television, the included tier does not meet that need.
- If you change tiers, the complimentary offer may end rather than simply charging you the difference.
Use this calculation: real monthly value = services you would otherwise buy − the incremental wireless-plan cost. For example, if moving from a cheaper plan costs $20 more per month, a $7.99 historical Hulu subscription alone does not justify the upgrade. Add only Netflix, Apple TV+ or other services you would independently purchase.

How activation worked
The following was the historical launch process. Menu names may have changed, so use the benefit displayed in your current T-Life or My T-Mobile account when available.

- After January 24, 2024, register for the offer and promotional code at promotions.t-mobile.com.
- Redeem the code with Hulu within 30 days of receiving it.
- Use the Hulu account associated with the redemption and retain the qualifying wireless line during the promotional period.
If the offer is missing, first confirm your plan and line status with T-Mobile. Hulu should handle account-level login or billing problems after T-Mobile confirms eligibility.
What happens after 12 months?
Watch out: The promotional period was 12 months. If you took no action afterward, Hulu could auto-renew at $7.99 per month or the then-current regular price. The price can change, so do not treat $7.99 as a permanent rate.
- Set a reminder before the 12-month period ends.
- Cancel or change billing through Hulu if you no longer want the service.
- Ending the qualifying T-Mobile line can stop T-Mobile as the payment method without automatically canceling the Hulu account.
- Hulu cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the billing period, and the stated terms provided no partial-month refunds or credits.
Existing Hulu subscribers and bundles
Do not assume that an existing Hulu subscription will migrate seamlessly. The offer is governed by Hulu’s subscriber agreement and may require a specific account state. Check how T-Mobile instructs you to link an existing account before redeeming.

- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
If Hulu comes through a Disney bundle, compare the cost and usefulness of keeping that bundle with standalone Hulu with ads. The T-Mobile promotion does not automatically replace Disney+ or ESPN access.
When Go5G Next may be worth considering
- You already pay for Hulu, Netflix and Apple TV+ separately.
- You want Go5G Next’s device-upgrade and premium wireless features regardless of Hulu.
- Several people in your household will use the included services.
- The value of services you would otherwise buy, combined with wireless features you need, exceeds the incremental plan cost.
When it probably is not worth upgrading
- Hulu is the only reason you are considering the plan.
- You already get Hulu through another bundle.
- You want ad-free Hulu or Hulu + Live TV.
- You rarely use Netflix or Apple TV+.
- A cheaper T-Mobile plan meets your data, hotspot and device needs.
- Taxes, fees, device payments or extra lines erase the apparent savings.
- You are likely to forget the 12-month expiration and incur a renewal charge.
Common redemption problems
- Wrong plan: The line may not actually be Go5G Next.
- Account status: The line may not be in good standing.
- Missed deadline: The code may not have been redeemed within 30 days.
- Conflicting Hulu account: An existing tier or billing arrangement may not qualify.
- Plan change: Switching Hulu tiers after redemption may terminate the promotion.
- Old benefits page: The displayed instructions may no longer match the current account interface.
Contact T-Mobile for plan eligibility and promotional-code issues. Contact Hulu for login, account-linking and billing questions after eligibility is confirmed.
Bottom line
Hulu with ads is a useful extra for people who already want Go5G Next’s wireless and upgrade features. It is not a sound reason by itself to pay for T-Mobile’s most expensive plan. Compare the incremental wireless cost with subscriptions you would genuinely buy, confirm the current offer in your account, and set a reminder before the 12-month promotion can turn into a paid Hulu subscription.
