The strongest recent signal is a price-history record for an Amazon Renewed, unlocked U.S.-version 256GB phone at $525.83 on August 1, 2026. That is a useful benchmark, not a promise that the same listing or price is still available. Check the exact condition, model, seller, warranty and return terms before paying.
The Amazon price signal
| Reference | Amount | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Renewed 256GB, recorded August 1, 2026 | $525.83 | Historical marketplace price; verify live |
| Reported prior price | $607.63 | Price-history reference, not a guaranteed list price |
| Reported observed low | $475.40 | Useful floor, not a guaranteed target |
| Reported average | $722.47 | Broad historical context |
| Samsung Certified Re-Newed 256GB | $849 | First-party comparison; marked out of stock when crawled |
See the historical record at PriceHistory.app. Samsung’s exact Certified Re-Newed listing is at Samsung.com; availability and displayed prices can change.
Calculate the real cost as item price + shipping + tax − an actually available coupon or guaranteed credit. Do not count speculative trade-in values, carrier bill credits, unavailable coupons or an inflated seller “list price.”
Identify the exact Amazon listing
Amazon groups multiple conditions, capacities and sellers under similar titles. Open “See all buying options” and record these fields:
#1 Best Overall
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
- Condition: New, Used, Open-box, Amazon Renewed or Renewed Premium. A seller title saying “like new” is not the same as a condition designation.
- Storage: 256GB, 512GB or 1TB. Compare like-for-like capacity.
- Region and model: A U.S. S24 Ultra generally belongs to the SM-S928U/U1 family. International variants such as SM-S928B can have different bands, software, eSIM behavior and warranty coverage.
- Unlock status: Confirm factory-unlocked or explicitly compatible with your intended carrier; “unlocked” alone does not guarantee U.S. network support.
- Seller and fulfillment: Distinguish Sold by Amazon, third-party seller/Fulfilled by Amazon, and third-party seller shipped directly.
- Contents: Confirm whether the box includes the S Pen, USB-C cable, SIM tool, charger and original packaging. The S24 Ultra normally does not include a wall charger, but a refurbished listing may supply a third-party accessory.
- Protection: Read the shown return deadline, Amazon Renewed coverage (if applicable), seller warranty and whether Samsung warranty eligibility is stated.
- Promotions: Check whether the price requires a coupon, Prime, financing, activation or trade-in.
Screenshot the price, condition, seller, model description and warranty before checkout.
Is the price good enough?
These are editorial decision bands for a U.S.-unlocked 256GB Amazon Renewed phone, not verified market quotations. Timestamp any price because marketplace offers move quickly.
Rank #2
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
| Effective price | Decision | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| About $500 or less | Excellent | Strong seller, clear U.S. model, free returns and acceptable warranty |
| $500–$600 | Good | Inspect promptly and confirm IMEI and carrier compatibility |
| $600–$700 | Fair | Only with excellent condition, storage or unusually strong protection |
| Above $700 | Weak | Compare Samsung Certified Re-Newed and established retailers |
A 512GB phone should cost more, but a large premium can erase the value of buying an older generation. Choose 1TB mainly for substantial 4K video, games or offline media; it is usually poor value for ordinary use unless the premium is small.
Amazon Renewed versus Samsung Certified Re-Newed
| Factor | Amazon Renewed | Samsung Certified Re-Newed |
|---|---|---|
| Inspection | Amazon-qualified supplier under Amazon’s condition program | Samsung technician inspection and cleaning |
| Battery | Battery-health details depend on the specific listing | Samsung states a certified new battery |
| Parts | May vary by refurbisher | Samsung states genuine Samsung parts |
| Warranty | Program or seller terms; read the listing | One-year manufacturer warranty, according to Samsung |
| Price | Often lower and seller-dependent | Usually higher; exact configurations may be out of stock |
| Returns | Listing-specific Amazon terms | Samsung’s store terms |
Amazon’s condition definitions are explained at Amazon’s seller guidance. Samsung’s refurbishment and warranty claims are described at Samsung Newsroom and Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed page. Paying more for Samsung can be sensible when a new battery, genuine parts and first-party support matter.

What the S24 Ultra still offers
The phone has a 6.8-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, built-in S Pen, 200MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP 3x and 10MP 10x optical telephoto cameras, and a 12MP front camera. Samsung lists features including Circle to Search, Live Translate, Note Assist and Generative Edit at its S24 buying guide. These specifications describe the genuine product, not proof that an Amazon listing is authentic or correctly configured.
Check the model and carrier compatibility
Do not solve a regional-model problem merely by seeing the word “unlocked.” An international phone may lack required U.S. bands, certification, VoLTE support or U.S. warranty coverage. Be especially cautious of:
Rank #4
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
- SM-S928B or other international variants marketed as unlocked.
- Carrier-branded models with activation or unlocking restrictions.
- “U.S. version” claims that omit the model number.
- Blacklisted, unpaid-finance or altered-firmware devices.
- Dual-SIM or eSIM claims that apply only to a particular regional edition.
An older international Samsung listing illustrates the risk without proving anything about the S24 Ultra: Amazon’s international-model example. Ask the seller for the exact model and verify it with your carrier before the return window closes.

Amazon versus Best Buy and the newer Galaxy
Best Buy search results showed refurbished examples at $649.99 for 512GB and $734.99 for 1TB, but availability is volatile. Check the live results at BestBuy.com. A retailer with store returns may justify a small premium.

Samsung listed the newer Galaxy S26 Ultra at $1,299.99 (256GB), $1,499.99 (512GB) and $1,799.99 (1TB) before promotions or trade-in credits. See Samsung’s S26 Ultra listing. Choose the S24 Ultra when the discount is substantial and you accept refurbished-device uncertainty.
Quick Recap
Buy, wait or skip
- Buy: The listing is a U.S. model, unlocked for your carrier, from a credible seller, with clear returns, and roughly $500–$600 for a 256GB Renewed unit; it passes every arrival test.
- Wait: The price is $600–$700, the seller details are weak, or the saving versus Samsung Certified Re-Newed or Best Buy is small.
- Skip: The model number is missing, the phone is international or carrier-restricted, return protection is unclear, or the price approaches a new current-generation phone.
