Baba is a control-oriented, Spirit-scaling skirmisher in Deadlock: Threadsap rewards a hit-and-shoot follow-up, Granny Long Legs adds movement and melee disruption, Baba’s Brew cycles through area effects, and Feed The Birds slows before applying a damaging hex. That role description is an inference from her kit, not an official or settled competitive classification. Baba became playable in the October 6, 2026 update.
What are Baba’s abilities?
Baba’s kit combines Spirit theft, gun synergy, mobility, melee disruption, area utility, and a channelled ultimate. The ability references below describe live-game mechanics that can change with balance patches.
1 — Threadsap
Baba sends a thread along the path of her crosshair; it bursts along that path, deals Spirit damage, and steals enemy Spirit. While she holds stolen Spirit, each bullet she fires deals bonus Spirit damage. Its documented upgrades include a cooldown reduction and a longer debuff duration; the top tier adds a charge and pulls an enemy on hit. unDeadlock’s Threadsap reference
In practice, land the line and use the temporary bullet bonus to follow up with gunfire. A pull on hit can create additional pressure, but the ability’s value depends on connecting the thread.

2 — Granny Long Legs
Baba’s bench legs extend, granting movement speed, higher jumps, debuff resistance, and melee resistance. Her light melee kicks enemies back. A heavy melee ground-pound knocks enemies up, slows them, and deals Spirit damage. Crouching charges a high jump. unDeadlock’s Granny Long Legs reference
This is both a repositioning tool and a way to disrupt nearby opponents: use the jump and resistances to enter or leave a fight, and the melee effects to interfere with enemies at close range.

3 — Baba’s Brew
Baba brews and throws a pot that applies an area effect. The effect cycles among a combat barrier, silence, and a burn that deals Spirit damage over time and reduces Spirit resistance. Baba can pause or resume brewing. The effect is not freely selected; track the cycle and pause it when the effect you want is ready. unDeadlock’s Baba’s Brew reference
Choose the moment to throw based on the effect currently available: a barrier supports defense, while silence or burn can help pressure opponents. The cycle makes timing, rather than selecting an effect from a menu, the key decision.

4 — Feed The Birds (ultimate)
Baba channels bread onto targets in front of her, applying stacking slow. When the channel ends, pigeons bombard the target, deal Spirit damage, and hex it into a pigeon. Both the damage and hex duration increase with the bread count. unDeadlock’s Feed The Birds reference
Build stacks and time the end of the channel to create a control window. The ability description does not establish a guaranteed kill or that it targets the whole enemy team.

What kind of hero is Baba?
Her mechanics point to a utility-focused skirmisher with Spirit scaling and several forms of control. Threadsap links an ability hit to a gunfire follow-up; Granny Long Legs combines movement with close-range disruption; Brew supplies a cycling defensive or offensive area effect; and Feed The Birds sets up a slow followed by a hex. This is a practical read of her kit, not a confirmed official role label. The available information does not establish a settled lane, best build, win rate, or competitive tier.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How should you approach Baba’s playstyle?
- Look for a Threadsap hit before committing to the gun follow-up. Its temporary bullet bonus depends on holding stolen Spirit.
- Use Granny Long Legs to manage position. The high jump and movement can help with entry or escape, while melee effects disrupt nearby enemies.
- Watch Baba’s Brew’s cycle. Pause brewing when the effect that suits the immediate fight is ready, then throw the pot for its area effect.
- Plan Feed The Birds around its channel. The slow builds during the channel, and the eventual bombardment and hex become stronger with bread count.
Together, these mechanics favor creating openings and controlling an engagement rather than treating Baba as a straightforward burst-damage character. That is an interpretation of the listed abilities, not a performance ranking.

What are Baba’s current base stats?

Is Baba good?
Her kit offers mobility, gun synergy, area utility, and strong control effects, but those features alone do not establish how well she performs. Because Baba became playable in October 2026, the available information does not settle her long-term win rate, competitive standing, or best build. Treat “good” as dependent on the live patch and how effectively a player uses her cycling area effect and channelled control.
