What the 81% figure measures
Inven Global’s October 6 tally grouped Steam reviews by the reviewer’s recorded playtime. Of 5,234 reviews written by users with at least 10 hours played, 80.8% were positive at 4:00 PM KST. The headline rounds that figure to 81%. Inven Global’s report does not establish that the same share of all players expressed approval: players who did not post a review are not represented, and a review count is not a player survey.

The report also says 85% of the reviews in the 10-or-more-hours group were written during early access. That timing matters: the result largely reflects reviews posted before official launch, rather than a clean measure of sentiment among players who joined afterward.

Inven Global reported different positive shares for three Steam review groups at the same October 6, 2026, 4:00 PM KST snapshot. Their review totals and playtime criteria differ, so they should not be read as three estimates based on an identical sample.

These are figures from Inven Global’s tally, not independently reproduced counts. The rise in the positive share across the higher-playtime groups shows how the reported ratio varies when reviews are filtered by hours played; it does not by itself explain why the groups differ or establish what all players think.
What else the report says about launch response
Inven Global attributed Steam concurrent-player figures to SteamDB: AION 2 had 203,803 concurrent players at 4:00 PM on October 6, about 13 hours after a reported peak of 397,905. The report also put the Steam peak during early access, on September 30, at 171,530, making the later Steam peak 32,273 higher. These are dated platform snapshots, not current player counts.

Those Steam-only numbers do not include NC’s PURPLE platform. Inven Global separately attributed a combined peak above 400,000 concurrent players to NC, with PURPLE users included. The scopes are different: the Steam figures should not be presented as the combined total, nor should the company-attributed combined peak be treated as a Steam count.
The report also cited a SteamDB-attributed Twitch peak concurrent viewership of 261,602, with 90,536 viewers at 4:00 PM on October 6. It described review sentiment as changing over the launch period: 39.6% of reviews posted in the first three hours after official launch were positive, compared with 59.2% in the 15–18-hour window. These time-window figures describe reviews posted in those periods, not all-player approval.
