60-Inch TVs for Xbox Series X|S: What to Check Before You Buy

A 60-inch TV can work with an Xbox Series X|S, but the screen size alone says nothing about how well it handles gaming. Check the exact TV model for the resolution and refresh rate you want, HDMI input support, VRR, ALLM and measured input lag. Microsoft says 4K at up to 120 FPS requires both supported content and a compatible display, so a 4K label by itself does not guarantee 4K/120 gaming.

What makes a 60-inch TV suitable for Xbox Series X|S?

Start with the signal the console and TV can use together. Xbox Series X|S supports HDMI 2.1 output, and Microsoft describes 4K at up to 120 FPS as requiring supported content and a supported display. Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S comparison makes that qualification explicit. A TV advertised as 4K may still lack 120Hz input, so confirm the supported resolution and refresh rate for the precise model and HDMI input you plan to use.

For gaming, compare these features rather than relying on a general “gaming TV” label:

  • Resolution and refresh rate: Confirm whether the set accepts 4K at 120Hz, if that is your target. Check the TV’s native refresh rate and its supported input signals separately.
  • VRR: Variable refresh rate can help synchronize the display with changing game frame rates. Verify support and the resolutions or refresh rates at which it works.
  • ALLM: Auto Low Latency Mode can let a compatible TV switch to a lower-latency mode when gaming. Confirm that the exact set supports it.
  • Input lag: Look for independent measurements at the resolution and refresh rate you expect to use; results can vary by mode and signal.
  • HDMI inputs: Check how many ports support the signal you want. A TV may not provide the same capabilities on every HDMI input.
  • HDR: Compare brightness and supported HDR formats if HDR gaming matters to you; the format name alone does not establish how bright or impactful the picture will look.

These are comparison points, not a guarantee that every feature works together in every mode. Check the manufacturer’s model-specific specifications and independent testing for the exact set.

Why exact 60-inch model numbers matter

TV specifications and performance can change with screen size inside the same model series. RTINGS reviewed a 65-inch Hisense A6G but specifically warns that its 50-, 60-, 70- and 85-inch versions differ from the tested model, so the 65-inch results do not apply to them. The review describes the A6G as lacking advanced gaming features and 120Hz input while supporting ALLM. Read RTINGS’ Hisense A6G review and its size-variant caveat.

That makes the A6G useful as a cautionary example, not a current recommendation: confirm the 60-inch version’s own specifications and test results, and do not assume the older model is in stock. More broadly, a larger sibling’s review cannot establish the panel type, refresh rate or gaming performance of a 60-inch variant.

Are there many 60-inch gaming TVs?

Exact 60-inch options are less prominent in major brands’ premium lineups, according to Tom’s Guide’s discussion of 60-inch TVs. That is buying guidance rather than a rule about every brand or market. If the size is fixed by a stand, cabinet or room layout, prioritize a verified exact-size model. If it can flex, compare nearby 55- and 65-inch sets too; they may give you more models to evaluate.

A reliable current, region-specific shortlist of 60-inch models with verified 4K/120Hz, VRR and ALLM support is not established here. Model availability and lineups vary by country, so do not treat an older model or a listing without an exact model number as evidence of a suitable purchase.

How to compare candidates without guessing

  1. Write down your target signal. Decide whether you need 4K/120Hz or whether a different resolution and refresh rate meets your needs. Xbox’s stated 4K/120 capability depends on compatible content and a compatible display.
  2. Find the full model number and size. Match the exact 60-inch variant, including regional suffixes where applicable. Do not substitute test results or specifications from another size in the series.
  3. Check the manufacturer’s specifications. Confirm supported resolution and refresh rate, VRR, ALLM, HDR formats and which HDMI ports accept the desired signal.
  4. Check independent tests for that variant. Look for input-lag measurements and gaming-feature testing that identify the same model and size.
  5. Verify your local listing before buying. Check current stock and the seller’s model number; do not rely on an old review or an unverified listing to establish availability.

General buying guides also recommend checking refresh rate, VRR, ALLM and input lag when choosing an Xbox TV; see TechRadar’s TV-for-gaming guide for further context.

Do you need a new HDMI cable?

Not automatically. The cable, console output, TV input and selected signal all have to support the setup you want, but the available guidance does not establish a specific replacement cable as necessary. First check the TV port and the cable supplied with your console; consider replacing a cable only if it does not support the required signal or the connection is unreliable.
