For this roundup, “next week” means August 24–30, 2026, on Netflix U.S. The schedule mixes a licensed horror movie, a new supernatural series, returning seasons, a star-led thriller and international dramas. “Everyone will be obsessed” is headline shorthand, not a measurable prediction—and availability or dates can change.
The current U.S. calendar lists the following six as the week’s strongest, most varied picks.

The Whisper Man is the week’s broadest thriller bet
Currently scheduled for August 28. This Netflix crime-thriller runs approximately 1 hour 46 minutes and stars Robert De Niro and Adam Scott. A widowed crime writer’s eight-year-old son is abducted, forcing him to seek help from his estranged police-detective father. Their search connects the kidnapping to an old serial-killer case.
The missing-child hook, family estrangement and contained movie length make this the most immediately accessible choice for viewers who want a conventional adult mystery. Netflix’s 2026 movie guide identifies it as an adaptation associated with Alex North’s bestselling novel; that connection says where the story comes from, not how faithfully the film follows it. AGBO is listed as a producer, but recognizable companies and stars are reasons to watch, not evidence of guaranteed quality.

M3GAN brings a familiar horror icon to Netflix
Currently scheduled for August 24. The 2022 science-fiction horror-comedy is a licensed catalog addition, not a new Netflix original. It follows a roboticist who gives her orphaned niece an advanced artificial-intelligence doll. Once M3GAN becomes self-aware and violently protective, the caregiver’s experiment turns dangerous.
Its recognizable character and meme-ready premise give the week an easy, standalone movie night. You do not need to watch anything first, and the film is the clearest pick for viewers who want horror with a playful pop-culture edge rather than a long commitment.
Choose it if: you want the week’s most obvious viral rewatch and do not need a new release to mean a newly made film.

Revival is the theory-generating genre series
Currently scheduled for August 24. In rural Wisconsin, dead people mysteriously return—not as conventional zombies, but apparently as themselves, behaving as they did before death. The central questions are immediate: Are the returned truly unchanged, and what caused the phenomenon?
The schedule describes Revival as a horror, mystery and supernatural-noir series based on a comic-book property, with Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce credited as creators. It is not established here as a Netflix original, so it is more accurate to call it a new series arriving on Netflix. The premise should be accessible to newcomers even if they have never read the comics.
Choose it if: you enjoy small-town unease, resurrection mysteries and shows that invite episode-by-episode theories.
Leanne Season 2 is the comfort-watch option
Currently scheduled for August 27. This returning Netflix multi-camera sitcom comes from Leanne Morgan and Chuck Lorre. The schedule lists Tyne Daly as a guest performer and Tim Daly as a series regular.

Compared with the week’s crime and horror offerings, a familiar family-comedy format makes this the easiest lighter binge. It is still a second season, however: viewers who skipped Season 1 may want a quick recap before starting, and the strongest appeal will likely be for people who already connect with Morgan’s stand-up persona and the show’s characters.
Choose it if: you want jokes and routine sitcom comfort instead of another grim mystery.
All the Truth in My Lies offers a compact Spanish-language romance binge
Currently scheduled for August 28. The schedule lists this as a five-episode romance-drama miniseries and an adaptation of an Elísabet Benavent novel. It is described as a Spanish adaptation; check the final Netflix listing for confirmed production-language and country details.
Secrets, relationship tension and literary source material give the series a clear weekend-binge shape. The short episode count is its practical advantage, while the adaptation and international format make it a natural choice for viewers who prefer romance built around reversals rather than a standalone movie.

Currently scheduled for August 28. This returning Turkish Netflix crime drama is the most audience-specific selection in the six-title package. Its main draw is continued investment in characters and serialized stakes from the first two seasons.
That also makes it a poor first stop for someone seeking an instantly accessible new show. Existing viewers should prioritize it; newcomers interested in Turkish crime drama can start with the earlier seasons rather than treating Season 3 as a clean entry point.
Choose it if: you already follow the series or specifically want a Turkish crime drama with ongoing storylines.

One more date to save: Four Hands, Two Sonatas
Currently scheduled for August 29. This Korean drama series is the best alternate pick for a K-drama-focused audience. The available calendar does not yet establish a detailed premise, cast, episode count or confirmed genre beyond identifying it as a K-drama, so it should not be described more specifically until Netflix publishes those details.
For a broad list, it can sit outside the main six; for a publication with a substantial K-drama readership, it could replace Graveyard.

What “new Netflix release” means here
This list deliberately combines different types of arrivals: M3GAN is a newly licensed film for Netflix’s U.S. catalog; Leanne and Graveyard are returning seasons; The Whisper Man and All the Truth in My Lies are Netflix-listed productions; and Revival is a new supernatural series whose original-status classification should be confirmed on its final title page. They are not all new Netflix originals, and they are not all equally easy starting points.
The dates come from a U.S.-focused third-party calendar and should be treated as current schedules, not guarantees. Netflix can change release timing or regional availability. The August 20 arrival of Outer Banks Season 5 belongs to the preceding week, August 17–23, and is intentionally outside this roundup. Check the individual Netflix title pages for final episode-drop details and availability.
