OriginOS 7’s standout ideas are practical: a shared workspace for multitasking, system changes aimed at smoother performance, AI tools for work, connections with selected Apple devices, and more interactive themes. How much you can use depends on your phone, region, software version, compatible apps and, for some AI features, language. vivo says OriginOS 7 will be available on the X500 Series and new X Fold and V Series devices, but has not published a complete model-by-model rollout schedule in its global launch material.
1. Origin Workbench brings several apps into one task space
Origin Workbench is designed to coordinate up to five active applications in a unified task space. The idea is to keep related tasks together—for example, referring to a document while messaging a colleague and checking a calendar—rather than repeatedly switching between separate screens.

There are important eligibility limits: vivo’s global feature page says Origin Workbench is available only on specific models with at least 12 GB of RAM. Which apps can participate, and whether cross-app drag-and-drop works, also depends on device and region. Check the feature list for the exact phone and market before choosing a device for this workflow: vivo’s OriginOS 7 global introduction.
2. Origin Smooth Engine targets speed and long-term responsiveness
vivo says OriginOS 7 updates graphics computation, memory management and system scheduling through its Origin Smooth Engine. In vivo’s 2026 internal testing, the company reported 10% shorter app cold-start time, 11% faster app page switching, 60% greater memory reclamation, up to 25 GB of additional storage freed on a 256 GB device, and 14.4% better rendering efficiency. These are vendor test results, not independently verified results, and should not be read as guaranteed gains on every supported phone.

vivo also describes a 72-month anti-aging test conducted in its laboratories. The company explicitly cautions that this does not mean a device will experience no latency. The claim indicates a long-duration test, not a promise that every phone will remain equally responsive for six years. The figures and qualifications come from vivo’s September 24, 2026 OriginOS 7 announcement and its global feature page.
3. Jovi and Snap Note help with work tasks
Jovi handles connected-device assistance
vivo presents Jovi as an AI agent that can work across connected phones and PCs. Described uses include finding files, generating summaries and scheduling recurring tasks. What it can access or do will depend on the connected devices and supported software.

4. Cross-device features reach beyond vivo hardware
OriginOS 7’s announced connectivity examples include using a compatible MacBook as a phone camera, handing tasks off to compatible iPads, checking Apple Watch notifications and syncing selected health data, viewing AirPods status, and accessing iCloud through vivo File Manager on the web. These features could make a vivo phone more convenient for people who also use Apple products, but they are not universal integrations.
Apple Watch connectivity is marked for a future over-the-air (OTA) update. vivo says the watch must first have been paired and activated with an iPhone, and availability varies. Compatibility also depends on the particular device, software version, market and feature; consult vivo’s feature and compatibility information rather than assuming every listed function is ready on every phone.

- Pet Pals: offers interactive companion themes.
These are among the features vivo says are limited to select devices. Some dynamic effects also vary by market or model, so the available customization will depend on the specific phone.

Which features matter most?
- For juggling tasks: check whether your model supports Origin Workbench and has at least 12 GB of RAM.
- For a smoother-feeling system: treat vivo’s performance numbers as company-reported test results, not a guarantee for your device.
- For work assistance: check Jovi and Snap Note availability for your region, language and phone.
- For an Apple-device workflow: verify compatibility and rollout status, especially for the future Apple Watch OTA feature.
- For visual customization: confirm which themes and effects are supported on your model and in your market.
vivo’s global announcement names the X500 Series and new X Fold and V Series devices for OriginOS 7 availability, and its separate X500 Series announcement confirms that series runs the new OS. Availability and supported features vary by device, software version and market; the published announcements do not set out a full rollout calendar.
