PC Gamer reported one Prime Day 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor deal under $550: the 27-inch MSI MAG 272UP at $549.99 on Newegg. Its 32-inch sibling, the MSI MAG 321UP, was listed at $571.14—not under $550. Those are prices in a report published October 6, 2026, not live-verified offers; check the retailer listing and stock before buying.
What the reported Prime Day deals included
Jeremy Laird’s October 6, 2026, PC Gamer report compared two MSI 4K QD-OLED monitors. The headline’s “under $550” wording applies to the 27-inch model only; the 32-inch offer was above that threshold.

Choose 27 inches for a denser image
Both displays have the same native 4K resolution, so the 27-inch MAG 272UP packs those pixels into a smaller area. That means higher pixel density than on the 32-inch model, which may suit a closer viewing position or a preference for a compact screen. The trade-off is less physical screen area.

Choose 32 inches for a larger picture
The MAG 321UP gives you more viewing area at the same resolution. PC Gamer’s writer said he personally preferred 32 inches, but that is a preference rather than a universal recommendation. Desk depth, viewing distance, and whether you value a larger image or denser pixels are more useful decision points than size alone.
What to know about brightness and USB-C
PC Gamer described both MSI models as first-generation 4K QD-OLED displays, with 250 nits full-screen brightness and 1,000 nits peak HDR brightness, and USB-C power delivery limited to 15 W. The report notes that newer 32-inch 4K QD-OLED monitors are somewhat brighter; it does not provide a specific comparison figure. Do not assume the 15 W USB-C connection can power a laptop in place of a higher-wattage charger.

Is a 165 Hz 4K OLED monitor worth it?
The MAG monitors pair a 165 Hz refresh rate with a reported 0.03 ms response time. For many players, that is already a high-refresh gaming specification; whether you can make full use of it depends on the games you play and the performance of your PC. Laird contrasted the MSI deal with a faster option and wrote, “But then the idea that you’re going to be running demanding games at 240 fps-plus at 4K is pretty implausible.” That is his assessment of demanding games, not a measured benchmark or a universal limit.

PC Gamer named the Acer Predator X27 X1bmiippruzx as a similar 27-inch 4K QD-OLED option with a 240 Hz refresh rate, reported at a $30 premium over the MAG 272UP deal. That comparison is also from the October 6 report, not a live price check. Consider the Acer if the extra refresh-rate headroom matters to your games and system; compare current prices and availability before deciding.

Verify the offer before checkout
- Confirm the exact model number: MAG 272UP and MAG 321UP are different sizes and had different reported prices.
- Check the retailer’s current price, stock, seller, shipping, and return terms. The report does not confirm today’s listing details.
- Do not treat the MAG 321UP as a sub-$550 deal based on the report: its listed Newegg price was $571.14, while Amazon was reported at $571.
- Compare the monitor’s 15 W USB-C power delivery with your laptop’s charging needs if you plan to connect it over USB-C.
