41 Tech Companies in Mexico: A Practical Guide to the Built In List

Built In’s “41 Tech Companies in Mexico to Know” is best used as a discovery guide, not a ranking or a live jobs directory. Updated August 19, 2026, the article brings together companies connected with Mexico through offices, operating centers, local teams or remote hiring. Its examples span fintech, enterprise and developer software, logistics, fleet technology, digital media, consumer electronics and nearshore development.

The list can help you build an employer shortlist, but inclusion alone does not prove that a company is headquartered in Mexico, employs a large local workforce, is hiring now or is the right choice for you. Treat every office, product and hiring detail as a point to verify on the company’s current website.

What the Built In list actually represents

The title promises 41 technology companies “to know,” and Built In presents the companies as a curated group. The article does not describe a ranking method, scorecard or census of Mexico’s technology sector. There is no basis for reading the first company as better than the last, or for assuming that all significant Mexican technology employers are included.

Built In also does not establish one consistent definition of “tech company.” The group includes software publishers, financial-technology platforms, logistics operators, a used-car marketplace, a digital entertainment service, a household-appliance maker and a semiconductor company. That breadth is useful for discovery, but it means you should compare companies by product, business model and type of Mexico presence rather than by their position in the article.

The article’s Mexico-related details describe the guide as it stood on August 19, 2026. Offices can move, teams can change, and recruiting pages can close a role at any time. A current careers page, local job posting or company announcement is stronger evidence of present hiring than the list itself.

Five sectors represented in the guide

Fintech and business finance

Several profiles focus on financial products for companies operating in Mexico or elsewhere in the region.

  • Konfio: Built In describes a fintech platform for Mexican businesses, including credit lines, business credit cards and payment terminals.
  • Kapital: The article presents Kapital as a corporate-finance platform offering cards, credit lines and artificial-intelligence-assisted financial tools.
  • Covalto: Built In characterizes Covalto as a business-focused neobank.

These descriptions point to work in lending, payments, risk, compliance, data science, software engineering and customer operations. They do not establish the size of any company’s Mexican workforce or confirm that a particular function is recruiting. A candidate should check whether a position is tied to Mexico, another country or a remote arrangement with specific employment restrictions.

Enterprise and developer software

The list also includes global software companies whose products are used by engineering, IT, security and business teams.

  • GitLab: The guide describes GitLab’s DevSecOps platform and GitLab Duo, its AI-oriented development capabilities.
  • ServiceNow: Built In identifies workflow and service-management software as the company’s focus.
  • Datadog: The article describes a cloud-monitoring and security platform.
  • Qualtrics: Its profile centers on experience-management software.

For job research, these products suggest different technical environments. DevSecOps work may involve source control, continuous integration and security automation; observability companies typically need expertise in telemetry, distributed systems and incident response; workflow and experience platforms may have substantial implementation, support and enterprise-sales functions. Those are product-oriented career signals, not evidence of open roles in Mexico.

Logistics, mobility and fleet operations

Another group applies software, marketplaces or operational networks to transportation.

  • Arrive Logistics: Built In describes Arrive as a third-party logistics provider with locations in Mexico and other North American countries.
  • Kavak: The company is profiled as a used-vehicle marketplace.
  • Samsara: The guide associates Samsara with technology for fleets and equipment.
  • Motive: Built In presents Motive as a provider of fleet and driver-safety technology.

These businesses can involve routing, supply-chain operations, marketplace trust, telematics, hardware integrations and safety analytics. A role carrying a “Mexico” label might be engineering, sales, customer success, fleet operations or a shared-services position. Read the job description and employing-entity information before assuming it is a software-development role.

Digital media and technology-enabled consumer products

The guide’s technology definition extends to consumer-facing services and hardware companies.

  • Crunchyroll: Built In describes a digital anime platform and associates it with a Mexico City office.
  • SharkNinja: The article identifies a maker of household appliances and consumer electronics with a Mexico City office.
  • Micron Technology: Its profile covers memory and data-storage products and a semiconductor center in Tlaquepaque.

These examples illustrate why “tech company” does not necessarily mean a pure software startup. Streaming platforms need content, product, infrastructure and customer teams. Appliance makers combine industrial design, embedded systems, manufacturing and software. Semiconductor operations can involve process engineering, equipment, quality and supply-chain work. The guide does not provide a current headcount or a complete list of roles for any of them.

Nearshoring and custom development

Two profiles speak directly to outsourced and nearshore technology work.

  • Alluxi: Built In describes Alluxi as a custom web and mobile development company that offers nearshoring services.
  • Ancient: The article presents Ancient as a developer and IT consultant with offices in Cuernavaca and Guadalajara.

For a prospective client or candidate, the key question is how the company structures delivery: project-based teams, dedicated engineers, consulting engagements or internal products. “Nearshoring” can mean serving customers in another time zone while employing people locally; it does not by itself reveal compensation, contract status, benefits or career progression.

Company examples and the Mexico connection described by Built In

The following table condenses the article’s illustrative profiles. “Mexico connection” means the kind of presence or activity the guide associates with the company; it is not an independent confirmation that the arrangement still exists.

How to use the 41-company guide for employer research

1. Start with the work, not the company name

Write down the type of work you want: backend engineering, data, cybersecurity, product management, implementation, sales, finance, operations or another discipline. Then match that goal to the company’s product. A fleet-technology provider and a fintech may both hire software engineers, but their domain knowledge, compliance needs and customer environments differ.

2. Classify the Mexico presence

Separate a named office from a remote-hiring policy, a delivery center, a semiconductor site and a sales or support operation. The guide associates Mexico with cities including Mexico City, Guadalajara, León, Cuernavaca and Tlaquepaque, and it also mentions remote hiring. Those arrangements have different day-to-day realities, so do not treat them as interchangeable.

3. Confirm the city and work model on the careers page

Look for the exact location, remote-work wording, travel expectations and employment entity in the current posting. “Remote in Mexico” may still require residence in a particular state, occasional travel or a local payroll arrangement. If the posting names a city, check whether it is an office, plant, customer site or recruiting label.

4. Check the posting date and status

Record when you found the role and whether the application page still accepts submissions. A profile page can remain online after a position closes. If the company has no current listing, that is evidence only that you did not find an open role, not proof that it never hires in Mexico.

5. Investigate the local legal and operating context

For regulated finance, ask which entity provides the service and where compliance responsibilities sit. For logistics and fleet companies, determine whether the role supports customers, vehicles, drivers or software. For manufacturing and semiconductor sites, review shift, safety and on-site requirements. These details can matter more than the company’s global brand.

6. Compare offers using consistent criteria

Once you have verified several roles, compare location, employment type, compensation structure, benefits, language requirements, expected travel, team function and advancement path. The Built In article supplies discovery leads; it does not provide a standardized employer score or an apples-to-apples compensation comparison.

What inclusion in the list does not prove

  • It does not prove that a company is headquartered in Mexico.
  • It does not establish a large Mexican workforce or a permanent office.
  • It does not confirm that the company is hiring on the date you read the article.
  • It does not show that every product mentioned is sold or regulated in Mexico.
  • It does not establish that one company is larger, safer or better than another.
  • It does not replace checking a company’s current careers, legal, product and office information.

The article also contains broad language about Mexico’s technology importance, but it does not provide a named, primary-source statistic that quantifies the country’s entire technology sector. Avoid converting that general framing into a precise market-size or ranking claim.

Choosing a starting point by career interest

Software engineering and developer tools

Begin with the enterprise and development-software profiles if you want to work close to code collaboration, DevSecOps, observability or workflow systems. Read the technical requirements for each current vacancy rather than assuming that a product category predicts the stack.

Data, risk and financial systems

Fintech profiles may suit people interested in credit, payments, fraud controls, financial modeling or business operations. Confirm the role’s licensing, compliance and customer-market requirements, especially when a platform serves more than one country.

Operations, logistics and customer-facing technology

Logistics and fleet companies can offer paths in dispatch, supply-chain analytics, telematics, implementation, account management and safety programs in addition to engineering. Ask whether the job is desk-based, field-based or tied to a specific operating site.

Hardware, manufacturing and embedded work

Consumer-electronics and semiconductor profiles may be more relevant to hardware, quality, process, firmware, manufacturing and supply-chain candidates. A site in Mexico can have very different hiring cycles and access rules from a remote software team.

Keeping the list current

Because the guide was updated on August 19, 2026, use it as a dated starting point. Recheck the company’s careers page, office page and product documentation immediately before applying or making relocation plans. If those pages conflict with the Built In description, give precedence to the newer, company-specific information and note the date of your check.

Used this way, the 41-company article is valuable for widening your search beyond a single type of employer. Its strongest contribution is the range of sectors and Mexico connections it surfaces; the final decision requires current, role-specific verification.
