Four employers listed in Michigan’s September 2026 layoff notices account for 603 planned job impacts: Trystar, Fifth Third Bank, SK Siltron CSS, and Compass Group USA/Morrison Healthcare. The figure is the sum of the state’s listed counts—not a confirmed total of completed separations. One Trystar schedule runs through December 31, so not all of its planned impacts are necessarily due in September. Michigan LEO’s public WARN listing also shows a separate Kroger notice affecting 68 jobs; it is not part of the four-company total.

| Employer | Workers listed | Date shown | Action type | Reason listed | Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trystar, LLC | 71 | September 4–December 31, 2026 | Facility closure | Transfer of operations | Troy, Oakland County |
| Fifth Third Bank | 234 | September 11, 2026 | Mass layoff | Not reported | Auburn Hills, Oakland County |
| SK Siltron CSS, LLC | 130 | September 15, 2026 | Facility closure | Not reported | Bay City, Bay County |
| Compass Group USA, Inc. / Morrison Healthcare | 168 | September 25, 2026 | Layoff | Loss of contract | Multiple sites in Cheboygan, Emmet, Genesee, Ingham and Lapeer counties |
The four published counts add up to 603: 71 + 234 + 130 + 168. The state listing gives a reason for Trystar and Compass Group/Morrison Healthcare, but does not report one for Fifth Third Bank or SK Siltron CSS.

How many jobs are affected, and are the layoffs confirmed?
The 603 figure refers to planned impacts listed in the notices. A WARN notice signals intended employment losses; the state’s summary does not establish how many workers ultimately separated. Trystar’s listed date range runs from September 4 through December 31, 2026, so its 71 planned impacts should not be read as all occurring in September.
#1 Best Overall
- Regularly updated, full-color maps
- 45% larger map with a bigger type size than the Rand McNally Folded Map
- Clearly labeled Interstate, U.S., state, and county highways
- Indications of county boundaries, schools, shopping malls, parks, golf courses, hospitals, airports, and points of interest
- Mileage and driving times map
The Kroger closure notice is separate: Michigan’s listing shows 68 jobs and a September 30 date. Including it would make a five-notice total, not the four-company figure of 603.
What Michigan’s WARN information means
Michigan LEO says the federal WARN Act generally requires covered employers to provide 60 days’ advance notice of plant closings and mass layoffs. Its WARN summary describes the applicable thresholds as:
Rank #2
- Easy to fold means no fumbling to refold the map
- Heavy-duty lamination allows you to write on and wipe off
- Durable and tear resistant
- Full-color maps with enhanced cartography
- Clearly indicated highways, county boundaries, points of interest, and more
- A facility closing that causes an employment loss for 50 or more workers within a 30-day period.
- A layoff affecting 500 or more workers, or 50–499 workers when that group makes up at least 33% of the employer’s workforce.
- Aggregation of employment losses over a 90-day period when the relevant threshold is reached.
Appearance on Michigan’s public portal alone does not prove that a notice meets federal WARN thresholds. The state says employers may also submit notices below those criteria, identified as sub-WARN.
What the public listing does—and does not—show
Michigan LEO says its public page presents notices in an accessible template rather than reproducing the original employer filings. The listing is therefore a state summary, not the underlying notice. The state says an unlisted notice may be requested through a Freedom of Information Act request. Neither the public summary nor its listed worker count confirms the final number of separations.
