What’s new on Paramount+ for Oct. 2–4?
Paramount+ lists all three films as Oct. 1, 2026 arrivals, so they are scheduled to be available for the weekend beginning Oct. 2. The service notes that some titles on its monthly slate may require Premium and that library dates can change; it does not specify the plan eligibility of these three films. Check the title in your local Paramount+ app before settling on a watch plan.

1. Parasite (2019): the Oscar-winning drama
Start here if you want a film with more on its mind than a simple thriller setup. The story begins when Kim Ki-woo tutors the daughter of a wealthy family; that opening gives the struggling Kim family a way to plan their entry into the household’s employment. The premise sets two families on a collision course across a sharp divide in wealth and status.

Parasite won Best Picture at the 92nd Academy Awards in 2020, which honored films released in 2019. The Academy’s official awards record confirms the win. This is the weekend’s pick for viewers who want an Oscar-winning drama with social layers and mounting tension.

2. Troy (2004): a mythic war epic
For a sweeping change of pace, Troy draws on Homer’s Iliad and the story of the Trojan War. Its large-scale, star-led approach makes it the clearest choice for a weekend movie night built around myth, conflict and spectacle.
The cast includes Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Diane Kruger and Brendan Gleeson. Pick it when you want an epic rather than an intimate drama or a horror film.

3. It Follows (2015): supernatural horror for spooky season
In It Follows, Maika Monroe plays Jay, who is stalked by a supernatural entity capable of taking the form of anyone. That simple, unnerving setup is the draw: the threat can appear familiar, leaving Jay to live with the possibility that danger is nearby.
