A compact 3D printer can lower the cost of making selected small hobby items, but it does not make them free: filament and other supplies remain ongoing costs. ENTINA listed its Tina2C for $199 when its product page was accessed in 2026. Its 100 × 100 × 100 mm build volume makes it a fit for small accessories and components—not full-size props or large models printed in one piece.
What “almost free” means in practice
The savings come from making some small objects yourself instead of buying each one. You still need filament, and the available evidence does not establish typical per-print costs, failure rates, hobby-by-hobby savings, or how long it takes to recover the printer’s purchase price. Finishing supplies, electricity, print time, and model-file rights can also affect the real cost.
ENTINA’s Tina2C product page listed a $199 price when accessed in 2026; that is a time-sensitive listing, not a promise of the price you will pay. The manufacturer specifies a 100 × 100 × 100 mm build volume and compatibility with 1.75 mm PLA and TPU filament. Those limits make the machine most relevant to small projects.
1. Tabletop gaming accessories
What you can make
Small tokens, component inserts, and terrain details are plausible uses. GamesRadar writer Benjamin Abbott describes printing tabletop RPG tokens and board-game inserts, and identifies terrain as another relevant hobby use. These are examples of what hobbyists may print, not evidence that printing is cheaper in every case.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Check the fit before printing
With a 100 mm maximum build dimension on each axis, choose pieces that fit inside the printer or can be divided into practical sections. A complete board-game set or a large terrain feature may require many prints, extra filament, or a larger machine.
2. Cosplay crafting
Small details, not whole costumes
A compact printer can help produce costume details such as badges, clips, or components of a prop. ENTINA lists models, toys, organizers, learning tools, and prototypes among the kinds of small projects suited to the machine, while GamesRadar also identifies cosplay and props as hobby avenues.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
A full-size prop or larger costume piece will not fit in this printer’s 100 mm cube build area as one object. It may be possible to split a design into sections, but that adds assembly and finishing work; the available sources do not quantify the resulting time or material cost.
3. Miniatures and small useful objects
Small toys and organizers
Small toys, desk organizers, and prototypes fit the project categories ENTINA names for the Tina2C. Reusable designs can be helpful when you need several similar objects or want to adjust a design, but repeated or larger prints consume more filament.

When miniature detail matters
A reviewed budget-printer guide distinguishes FDM printers, suited to functional parts, toys, and prototypes, from resin printers, which can capture finer miniature detail. Resin printing adds washing and UV-curing steps. The Tina2C is specified for PLA and TPU filament, so it should not be treated as a resin printer or assumed to deliver resin-level miniature detail.
How to judge whether the printer suits your hobbies
- Measure the object: Check that it fits within 100 × 100 × 100 mm, or decide whether dividing it into parts is worthwhile.
- Match the detail to the technology: Small functional objects are a more natural FDM use; very fine miniatures may call for resin and its additional workflow.
- Account for repeated prints: Prototypes and multi-part projects use more filament. No dependable per-print cost is established for these examples.
- Check permission to print: Use a design you have the legal right to print. No specific model marketplace or license terms are established here.
How expensive is the 3D printing hobby?
The $199 Tina2C listing is one upfront cost, not the full cost of the hobby. You will continue to buy compatible 1.75 mm PLA or TPU filament, and projects can also call for finishing materials or additional time when a print needs adjustment. The sources do not give a reliable cost per object, so a precise budget or payback estimate would be speculative.

Other sub-$200 printers appeared in a 2026 budget-printer guide, while the guide noted that prices can move between sale and regular pricing. Creality’s official Ender-3 V2 page showed $179 but marked the model sold out when accessed. Those listings illustrate why a single advertised price should not be treated as a stable market price.

It is more likely to make sense if you have recurring projects for small parts, accessories, or prototypes and are willing to learn the print-and-adjust process. It is a weaker fit if your main goal is to make large objects in one piece, achieve very fine miniature detail with an FDM machine, or eliminate hobby expenses. The Tina2C’s price and specifications are manufacturer statements, not independent test results.
