There are no new Paramount+ movie premieres listed for October 5–11, 2026. But three films added to the service on October 1 are worth watching this week: When Harry Met Sally, Parasite and Drag Me to Hell. Paramount+’s October schedule lists the films in its October 1 batch; availability can vary by location and plan.
What new movies are on Paramount+ this week?
Paramount+’s October schedule dates its monthly movie batch to October 1. The dated additions shown for October 5–10 are television shows, not movies, so the schedule does not establish a movie premiere during October 5–11. These picks are fresh October additions you can watch this week, rather than films arriving this week. TheWrap also reports the October 1 movie list and shows dated series and sports items later in the week: TheWrap’s October schedule.

Three October additions to choose by mood
| Movie | Best for | Tone |
|---|---|---|
| When Harry Met Sally (1989) | A warm, conversational rom-com | Relationship banter and evolving friendship |
| Parasite (2019) | A tense, genre-blending thriller | Social satire, suspense and dark comedy |
| Drag Me to Hell (2009) | Supernatural horror with camp | Scares, slapstick and gross-out moments |
All three appear in Paramount+’s October 1 movie list. Tom’s Guide also selected them from that batch and supplies the genre and plot descriptions below: Tom’s Guide’s October picks.
When Harry Met Sally (1989): for warmth and relationship banter
Harry Burns and Sally Albright begin as acquaintances and, over the course of twelve years, share dating advice, relationships and late-night calls. Their friendship gets complicated when unexpected feelings enter the picture. If you want a romantic comedy built around conversation and the gradual evolution of a relationship, this is the gentlest pick of the three.
#1 Best Overall
Tom’s Guide’s reviewer praises the leads’ chemistry, Nora Ephron’s script and Rob Reiner’s direction. That is the publication’s assessment, not a claim of universal critical agreement.
Parasite (2019): for social satire that turns unsettling
The struggling Kim family finds a way into the wealthy Park household under false pretenses, only to encounter secrets that shift the story’s direction. Tom’s Guide describes the film as a mix of thriller and comedy, with elements of black comedy, satire, crime caper, family drama and scares. Choose it when you want tension and tonal surprises rather than a straightforward thriller.
Rank #2
- HORROR

Drag Me to Hell (2009): for horror with a streak of camp
Christine Brown, a bank loan officer, faces a curse after refusing an older woman’s request for a mortgage extension. Tom’s Guide characterizes the result as a blend of body horror, slapstick and scares. It suits a horror night when you want supernatural menace alongside outrageous, sometimes comic shocks.
