Version 3.0 of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, which Sunblink calls Welcome Home, adds housing on two levels: a Player Home you can customize and upgrade, and Character Homes that you help Sanrio characters build. It also adds Pocket Rooms to extend existing homes and cabins, and Postboxes for gifts and advance deliveries. Sunblink’s announcement targeted October 8, 2026. Apple’s App Store version history lists 3.0.0 with these features, but the sources available for this article do not confirm that every platform received the update on that date.
What version 3.0 adds
The App Store version history for 3.0.0 describes four home-related features and a new crafting event. The official feature descriptions are high level, so the details below separate what is confirmed from what remains open.

Player Home
Your personal Home can be customized and upgraded. This is the central new space in the update. The sources do not state how upgrades are paid for, what they cost, or which items they require.
Character Homes
Rather than only decorating your own space, you help favorite Sanrio characters create homes of their own. The sources confirm the concept but do not describe the steps, the characters involved, or the order in which homes become available.

Pocket Rooms add more space to a Home or to a cabin. The listing names doors, stairs, and spiral staircases as the ways these rooms connect. This is the only confirmed expansion mechanic, and the sources do not state how many Pocket Rooms a home can hold.
Postboxes
Postboxes serve two purposes. They receive gifts from friends and from Cornerstones, and they let you send items to a character’s postbox in advance. The listing does not explain how Cornerstones are earned or what gifts are typically sent.
A new friend and Days of Plenty
The 3.0.0 listing also introduces a new friend tied to homes, antiques, and craftsmanship, and a crafting event called Days of Plenty. Neither entry describes the friend’s role in detail or the event’s dates, rewards, or duration beyond what is named above.

Launch timing and platforms
Sunblink’s September 25 announcement, reproduced on the Official Hello Kitty Island Adventure Wiki’s Updates page, described Welcome Home as a free major update across Apple Arcade, PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation, and quoted the studio’s plan for an October 8 launch:
“We’re so excited to officially announce that Welcome Home, our BIGGEST FREE major update yet, launches early October in 3.0! We are currently in check for submission, and are planning for an October 8th launch. Should this be changed, we will let you all know as soon as we can.”

The home features are described as part of version 3.0.0, so reaching them requires that version. The game itself is a cozy adventure built around exploration, friendship with Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters, crafting, puzzles, and cabin decoration. The 3.0 homes extend that cabin-decoration loop rather than replacing it.
