A 27-year-old paediatrician was found dead in a service apartment in Aditya Nagar, in Hyderabad’s Hafeezpet area, on Friday afternoon, October 2, 2026. Police said they were treating the death as suspicious and trying to trace a male friend who had checked into the apartment with her. The cause of death had not been established when Hindustan Times reported the case.
How police found the doctor
According to the Hindustan Times report published October 2, her parents asked police to check on her after she stopped answering her phone. Officers traced her location to the service apartment and found her body on a bed.

Miyapur Circle Inspector N Jayaram told Hindustan Times: “Based on the complaint given by the parents, we traced the location and reached the service apartment. On checking the premises, we found the decomposed body of the woman on the bed under suspicious circumstances.”
What police said about the male friend
Police said the doctor had travelled from Warangal to Hyderabad and checked into the apartment with a male friend about three days before she was found. The report said preliminary inquiries indicated that the man had not been seen in the area for two days. Police were trying to locate him and establish what had happened.

Jayaram said the man had called the doctor to discuss a dispute over a gold chain. That detail was described as part of preliminary police inquiries; it does not establish a motive or indicate anyone’s guilt. The initial report did not say that the man had been formally named as a suspect.
Cause of death and investigation status
Police sent the body to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination. At the time of the report, no medical cause of death had been announced. Jayaram said: “We shall be able to know the exact cause of the death after the autopsy. Investigation is on.”

Police were treating the case as a potential homicide, which is an investigative suspicion rather than a confirmed finding. The October 2 report did not establish the manner of death, whether the male friend had been located, or whether anyone had been arrested or charged.
