Built In London’s directory, updated September 18, 2026, names 22 companies connected to digital marketing in London. It is a discovery list, not a ranked shortlist: the entries range from agencies and consultancies to marketing software, advertising marketplaces, analytics providers and media businesses. The right choice depends on what you need done and what kind of provider you want.

How to choose a provider for your needs
Start with the work you need
Write down the specific outcome and work involved: search visibility, paid media, content, website development, analytics, creative production or customer engagement. Compare providers whose described services overlap with that scope. An analytics company, a website platform and a campaign agency may all relate to digital marketing, but they solve different problems.
Check the business model
Establish whether you are considering an agency or consultancy, a software platform, an advertising marketplace, an analytics provider or a media network. The distinction affects what you are buying: people and delivery, a tool your team operates, access to advertising inventory, or data and insight. A service label alone does not tell you who will execute the work or what responsibilities remain with your team.
Look for sector and customer fit
Match the provider’s stated customers and sectors to your own situation. The directory, for example, identifies Gripped with B2B technology, IT and SaaS; The Good Marketer with small and medium-sized businesses; and Sojern with travel. Those descriptions can help narrow discovery, but should not substitute for confirming that the firm currently serves your market and needs.

Before shortlisting, ask each prospective provider for relevant case studies, a written delivery scope, its reporting approach and the names or roles of the people who would work on your account. Request examples that resemble your sector, objectives and scale, and clarify what is included, what is not, and how progress will be assessed. Built In’s brief profiles do not provide a common evidence base for comparing performance, so they cannot establish which company will deliver the best results. A separate Digital Agency Network directory for London agencies also organizes firms by service specialization, a useful dimension for discovery rather than proof of outcomes.

How to read the directory responsibly
- Use it to identify candidates, not as a definitive ranking: no consistent ranking method or shared performance measures are established for the entries.
- Do not assume every listed business is a conventional agency. The range includes technology, advertising, analytics and media businesses alongside service firms.
- Verify current capabilities, location, availability and fit directly with the company before making a decision.
- Compare like with like: providers with different business models or specialties cannot be fairly judged by a single generic measure.
